That's entirely possible. However, he shows so many signs of psychopathic/sociopathic behaviour that I tend to think that his response was because we weren't people to him, we were RESOURCES. So, when we thought for ourselves and dared to disagree with him, he took that personally because he was entitled to do all our thinking for us.

That was always the accusation, or some variation thereof. God made us individuals, not clones. Be the authentic, Godly, you. Love as fully as you can, be kind, be compassionate, and engage your God-given faculties.

WW, you're probably familiar with Martin Buber's book, I and Thou. At least, it sounds from your comment above, that you're familiar with it. I couldn't agree more.

T-Bone, oh yes, I remember people like that out on the field when I was a WOW years ago. Perhaps some of them really did enjoy the teaching(s), but I think many of them were phonies. Some teachings were great, some su--ked. I hated all the phoniness in TWI, and there was an excessive amount of it. I always tried to be the "real" me, but sometimes people thought I wasn't being "spiritually-mined." Nowadays, I try to be a "real person", instead of a phony. Most people can deal with the "real me", as long as I am, polite, and respectful of their opinions. How life has changed, and for better IMHO.
