  1. there really needs to be another category definition for "all" when it comes to twi. "all" (the literal translation according to twi usage": All the resources of the way international except what we have in investments, property and in our sock drawers, primarily intended to benefit people in the organization according to a strict hierarchical distribution that we'll call "need", with greater "need" being found for those at the top of the hierarchy and lesser, and at times even what could be considered a "negative" need (on a scale that includes numbers less than zero) in those found at the bottom of the hierarchy. everything outside of these necessary investments, property, sock drawer stashes and general distributions to "need" are included in "all the resources of the way" when used in the context of investing in the preparation of the future leaders of our cult. so, basically, "all with a great number of exceptions resulting in a sum close to zero".

Over the last 160 years its been the context of a million musical get togethers, dances and back porch jams. I suppose there is a reason Stephen Foster is remebered as a great American songwriter..... Speaking of back porch jams heres another song that is older than dirt (at least the Civil War) but somehow is still alive--- and imho sounding really good Greasy Coat <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>For real gluttons of traditional music, informalbut smokin' version of the same tune

  6. I dont exactly know who Bouquais is, but that is a beautiful instrument. I understand why anyone would drool over that. I know that basically everone that I know sure would.... I'd love to hear the stories that it could tell after making music for 260 years...Where has it been? Who has played it? What memorable experiences has it had? How did you come by that?? Do you still play it? and again Im gonna press on to When are we going to hear some dmiller music here? :) I know that I am a newcomer, basically a hacker and still learning new things everyday about the music and playing the old tunes with friends. One of these days I'm going to kidnap you, all your instruments, and your wealth of knowledge to a weekend in the hills of Western Mass for a weekend of good homemeade music, good homemade food, and good friends.. hopefully you wont be too mad for me stealing you away. a relatively new song to me thats the latest thing I learned this week.I have a Bill Monroe version that I like better but this is the only version I could find on utube- Crossing The Cumberlands

  7. Dang--Im going to have to hear that whole story someday! That must've been one amazing experience When I was a hardcore rock and roller in my much much younger years, it was Blake and afew others who first opened my ears and eyes that there were other magnificent unexplored genres that captivated me and were worthy of my attention. Blake is one musician that I never tire of--- Jordan Am A Hard Road To Travel <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

  8. Geisha, I'm not going to get on you for sharing your Christian experience. It's a genuine experience. I am genuinely happy for you that you have found a genuine small group of Christians that you can rebuild your life with and relationship with Christ with post TWI. It sounds to me like your church has been a vital step to you in your recovery, and you are a proponent of that type of relationship to others because it's helped you. Those are good things. -CF

  9. Yes, no problem. On the Death Star, they were the ones that wore the army-like looking outfits, would order Storm Troopers around all the time, and answered "It will be done, Lord Vader".

  11. They meet where and when everyone decides to meet. You know, mutual decision goes a long ways. Part of being like-minded in unity, instead of being told when and where to meet. If you want to join, just ask. Or propose a time and place. An overseer.. Can you define that for me? Cause I think your idea is almost similar to that which is in TWI. Are they the ones who decide for you what is shared in the meeting every week? Do they decide for the group what everyone ought to be singing? Maybe they make the decision when and where everyone in the group ought to go witnessing or fundraising? Do they decide how the spirit leads the meeting or do they allow the spirit to move in each individual? Do they hog the mike and air time, or do they allow equal time for everyone to share whatever is on their hearts that God has been working without fail and without needing approving ahead of time or needing a "special" time for such things? Is that someone who oversees what you think and do? And when it's not according to their belief, what do they do? Do they allow such differences without ANY prejudice? Do they think they know it all and anyone who doesn't agree must be wrong?

  13. Avoid what? No one is avoiding that there are man made schisms that abound within Christ's body.. Some just overlook that silliness and are tired of man made labels or nametags or whatever... Wrong? I don't believe I used the word "wrong" to define man made churches.. I only stated a fact, they were built by men. MAN MADE. God has built one, called the body.. Christ's body.. The ONE new man.. So, I don't know, I call them like the Lord calls them, men made them. I didn't say wrong. I said man made. I have no doubt that great men of God have come together to serve Him. That's a beautiful thing. Maybe even something that God has directed in their hearts. But, by their own fruits you shall know just as any other individual that is part of God's body. I just won't divide them. They are all one as we all are to be. It is how "SOME" come together.. But please don't try and make the case that the way YOU come together with others in the body is the ONLY WAY. God's ways are varied. People are varied. What one needs, another may not. The TORAH was made for man not man made for TORAH.. Christ knew that, and thus he did not set boundaries on such things as THIS IS THE ONLY WAY to meet. I'm not criticizing how you meet, I am pointing out only that it was put together by men. That's all. Godly men, perhaps, I don't know, and I'm not the judge. Requires structure... Well, again, I think as long as the structure is the structure God has designed, great. Else, men's structures are just that.. So, what structures did God state? That's important to know.

  14. No problem. I'm over the argument. I think that some of our disagreement is due to using the same terms to talk about quite different things. I started a couple threads to clarify terms and facilitate the free exchange of ideas around it.

  17. All good stuff! I heard this tune early trhis morning and it put me in a great mood for all day-- There is only one-- Louis Armstrong- <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>PS--there was some talk a few years back --someone who loved Simon and Garfunkel (Pawtucket maybe??). I'm not all that sure, but apparently live performances by them are sort of rare. They are coming to my hometown this summer if anyone is interested ... LINK I am a little prejudiced but I think if you are a fan that this is the best possible place anywhere to see them.... Here's the venue: I live behind the mountain on the left, which also happens to be the place where Herman Melville decided to write Moby Dick.
