  1. Oh also the folks in Hebrews all died in faith or "believing". We were told that meant they died in fellowship. In otherwords the spirit of God was on them until their last breath. That was why they could die in faith or believing. Also, in the Adv. Class that the faith used in Heb. was the manifestation of faith/believing. OF course that is whole other teaching. Yes that's right...I still have all the answers to life's questions locked up in my head. too bad they are all lies. lol I guess you could say I am full of $h!t.
  2. Actually In the OT men and women-O-God would have spirit upon them as opposed to in them. The difference between the prePente believers and the postPente belivers was that the post had spirit or "seed" in them that they could not lose. You were a child of God and "all hell couln't stop you" from going to heaven. On the other hand the prePente people could loose it if they screwed up or got "out of fellowship". Also, spirit had many meanings to VP, just as faith did. But to answer your question....among other things, all life was spirit, just not holy spirit. Later in the Advanced class you would learn that not only is there Holy Spirit and holy spirit but angels are spirit and there are devil spirits or fallen angels and there is the spirit of man which is just body and soul man. Funny that body and soul people had spirit but they didn't have spirit. I guess you could call it man soul. or something Here is another one of those great obtuse VP quotes for you. (I think this is right) "The spirit of God is the light of God in concretion" of course spirit had no shape, form, taste, smell or anything.....but it was the light of God in concretion. that was one of those things that I just assumed I was not spiritual enough to get it. clearly he got revelation on that one. Of course I was fed this crap from the age of five so I had no other viable references to consider.
  3. and wouldn't that just be the end of the world.
  4. I was jsut thinking about that the other day ,herbyjauna. In the later years I think they realised that door to door didn't work, so they would say it is not our responsibility that people believe but it is our responsibility to speak and going door to door helped get red of that fear and forces you to speak. Your at someone's door...I guess you'd better say something. If the message is the important thing and the proper delivery for the best impact means nothing then why not just be one of those crazy people on the corner spouting their wacked beliefs. After all that you speak is the important part. right? lol, They don't want to look crazy. Little do they know everyone already thinks that.
  5. OK posting right after George really makes me sound like a little whining ugly american. I admit...in the grand scheme of things...I have no complaints....no real problems to speak of. Thanks for keeping things in perspective for me Geo. its true I'm fine really
  6. I play the guitar and sing. I can't say I was ever told outright not to play or listen to certain things but there was an implication that since I was a musician that I should use those talents towards "the furthance of the word". Yikes! I was in a semi-punk band in high school and then in college I sold my electric toys for money to go to the WinB covnference. Still regret that. So I took my acoustic to the college open mic nights and sung my fustrations out there. I was pressured repeatedly to use my ability in fellowship and eventually I did. it was also in part because the older I got and the more involved I got the more I thought that I should be focusing this talent toward a "godly" use. Now there are some great non-twi christian ska/punk/rock bands out there that are excellent musically and lyrically, but now I'm not especially interested in the music. Although, I do tune in, on occasion, to those radios stations just to see what is out there. After I left school, which was my decision (but only after a couple of years of the serious demonization of debt), I rarely played in public and still don't. I long for it now. There is a freedom in playing your own music. I just have a sort of artist's block when it comes to music and writing. I still haven't found a way to put my anger and fustration and confusion regarding my involvement in twi and religious or philosophical ideas into music and lyrics. Perhaps because my parents are still in. I don't know. In the visual arts catigory, I have no problem with ideas there. I have too many ideas. I just have a problem with the time and/or motivation to do most of it. Still I would love to get into a band and rock out or swing out or funk it up. sorry if I still didn't contribute to the topic of this thread.
  7. I believe my mother came back from an Advanced Class in Gunnison talking about how VPW had explained to them how different types of music could have a devilish influence. Classical promotes homosexuality and rock music promotes Marxism. I'm just making those up...I don't remember the exact examples, but it was taught. Perhaps that is what you were talking about. Although, many years later at a Word in Business conference LCM told us art freaks that basically all music could be used in a devilishly or godly way. He gave the example of how he could see heavy metal productions as long as it glorified god. He just felt that the general population of believers were not ready for that or may not like it. It was a few years later when that insane song, "Wash My Feet in the Blood of the Wicked" came out, I believe at an Adv. Class Special. I think that was twi's attempt at "heavy metal". That is pretty funny. It really was lame. The closest thing they ever came to metal was around 85 or 86 @ the Rock. I don't remember the name of the band but Mike and Vic were two of the guys in it. They were Junior Corps brothers of ours. That was hilarious watching them bang their heads with all that hair. My brother was in the audiance doing the same. The people behind him were getting ....ed at him because he was whipping them with his hair. lol Anyways...derail I'll just make another post.
  8. Mr. P You are probably right about the correct order, but the ministery was still supposedly behind your family. That is surely not the case.

Just a Marylander curious as to whether anything ever came of all this talk or have your whinneys already been roasted?
  10. My wife recalled her one and only twi meeting. She said that my mom said that your priorities should be: your family yourself god the ministry etc etc. At the time she agreed with that but now she doesn't see that as the order of my family's priorities. I remember that was supposedly how you were to decide on where you would like to request to be sent in the corps. Don't think that was ever the real order of things in the ministry. Its evident in the way they do these "events". Family is somewhere down the list. Somewhere after The Ministry. its sad. and pathetic
  11. Ah yes, fake events. JustThinking, perhaps you were at my little brothers graduation party. I went as a brother and could immediately tell this was also a ministry "event". Pampered Chef parties, no no no....that's a ministry event. If you want to go anywhere go two-by-two and when you do go two-by-two you had better plan on speaking da verd. I remember a girl I was dating got reprooved once with the BC's daughter because they didn't witness to anyone while they were out one afternoon. I was invited to a coffee house not too long ago. I posted about it but we couldn't make it. Too bad. Recently my wife and I have been talking about how we can get my wayfer parents to get more involved with their grandson's life. So we decided to ask them over once a week or so. they helped us out and watched the kiddo the other weekend. My mom asked afterward if we would like to come to an ice cream social the next Friday. They left and I immediately told my wife that this was not just an ice cream social....it was a ministry "event". Well, since we were trying to get more involved as a family, we decided to go. It was OK. I saw some old innies I knew, and some neighbors and they saw the baby. They were good, nice folks, just lost. No one mentioned fellowship or even God that I can recall. We had ice cream and talked for a while. When we left my wife said "that didn't go so bad". I told her of course not, that is how they suck you in. Be all nice at first, then they get you hooked, once you get serious, they get pushy and anal in the worst of ways. Oh I forgot. My mom was the one who invited us, but when we drove up she came out to us. My step dad I guess found out we were coming and wanted her to come clean and tell me there would be some wayfers there and to make sure that wouldn't be aukward for us. That was nice of him. (but like I couldn't figure that out? --> ) So yes they still do it. Even to their own family. Ain't that sweet?
  12. I don't remember too many things she said but that is probably because of her classic delivery. By the time she finished a sentence you already forgot what she was talking about. He- llo and Wel- come to tha Word o- ver tha world au- di- tor- ium I am rev er end Rosa Lee Ri Vin Bark Did she really have five names? lol reminds me of a joke from the "circuit rider".
  13. I didn't read all of this but I thought an accurate description of "way brain" is appropriate. WAY-BRAIN: a) may refer to the use of Way terms, the elitest way attitude, or any number of way doctrines or any other sililar twi-type charicteristics that an accuser may deem appropriate. b) @ The Grease Spot Cafe the term is used as the worst of insults. Mearly implying that one has " way-brain" is worse than calling their mother a bad name. oh and c)what everyone here has to some degree or another. ;)-->

  15. That's right El StrangeO. Shape up or ship out. and that goes for the rest of you too!
  16. Micro-mangagment: @ home with my FC roommate trying to act like my dad even though I was an adult. Where were you? Who with? Why so late? Are they coming to fellowship? If not, why not? if not, move on to new friends. Clean clean clean the house and your room especially etc etc etc. "I'm not trying to be your dad but I have a spiritual responcibility for this house and our fellowship and you." Blah blah freaking blah @ work my FC boss doing a better job of acting like my dad but still not his job. Keeping tally of my personal life (AKA spiritual life) and every mistake I may have made and trying to link the two. @ my actual family (also FCs) doing the best job of staying hands-off but helping the other two FC I had to deal with up to date with the details of my life while applying their own personal pressure only the way a parent can. @ every remaining possible change from the local BC or LC, just in case anyone else missed a chance. Don't miss "genuine spiritual suspision" lol aka- homophobia at its worst as well as other phobias Don't miss the promised land of the prevailing nerds or pseudo-Bible-geeks They would use that word "pseudo" just because LCM refered to it in a teaching. Started refering to plastic forks and knives as "pseudo ware". HA ha! yeah, thats some lame *** humor. They thought they knew more about the Bible than anyone in any other religion. and yes ...I was one of them at times. Don't miss the meeting and the classes all at my house since I was about seven. Don't miss Practice sessions Been thru this one many times before but looking back now I can't see myself sitting thru another one of those without busting into histarics at the sight of such fakery. and the list goes on and on. Sad but true
  17. Knew him from my youth and teen years. He was kicked out I believe. We were told some lies about him, that I won't repeat.

  19. after reading this thread, I'm convinced you're all possessed. sorry I had to break it to ya.
  20. So that's why I've always been so healthy. And here I always thought it was all just my incredible believing. :P-->
  21. Yes he is.... RC's don't profess that they are the only true teachers.....But I know a few that act that way.
  22. I guess Jesus should have turned that lady over to be stoned for adultry, so he could "nail evil where he found it". --> Oh no wait adultry is OK, I forgot. How's about some of you Christian folk come up with some biblical examples of where "believers" did good to the average person who wasn't going to believe or where it wasn't a benifit to the believer or a control trip.....to show the innie lurkers what it is REALLY talking about. I might be interested too. I love these retarded WayRag articles, they are sooooo deep. lol
  23. Just thought I'd make you feel a little better. :D-->
  24. well I didn't eat out of the trash, but... when we were out WOW, I was 7, my WOW sister brought me home some ice skates that she found in the trash on the side of the road. I mentioned it to my outie dad on the phone one day and my mom shushed me saying, don't tell him she got them from the garbage! :D--> I can't say I ever skated in them, but what a thoughtful gift. LOL :P--> OK then...Who's your mommy?
