  1. When one owns an auto repair business, one gets different oppurtunities to buy vehicles. The red hot rod needed more work done on it than the owner wanted to pay for repairs, so hubby bought it from him.

Of course, the Jag is a totally different story.

We sold the Expedition last week, but have an Explorer now to run parts with, etc.

In a couple of weeks, we should have a Sunfire that the owner left and never came back for it. It cost $322.00 to run the legal ad in a state-wide newspaper and $5.00 to send certified, return receipt mail to owner and then to lien holder. What a crock.

Listening to David Bailey and Agape on my new turntable!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, what you said about Ms. Cleo and Ardith...but I think the Jag would be more suited to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Shelby County Fair Grounds :wink2:

Is that where the ROA was that year??? 30 years ago...wow.....yeah wow.... I went wow to Cumberland MD that year (2nd time). Having lived in the Memphis area for 12 years, I have more of an appreciation for Elvis and his music. It seemed surreal watching the Larry King Live special last nite with Priscilla.

One of our best friend's son was born at Baptist Memorial the day Elvis died. The son later was killed in an accident, but I always think of Bradley on this day also.

God Bless You, Brad and Donna, Bradley was a son to be proud of. :offtopic:

  3. Hey BikerBabe!!! It does my heart good to read this!!!

I have asked a few questions in the computer forum, and EVERY TIME, I get help I need from someone (usually more than one) who took the time to check the internet for troubleshooting or whatever I needed, and took the time to post.

I am not a computer whiz but I love fooling with video and now audio as I have just purchased a new usb turntable.

  4. Yeah, Rick, they do. I bought mine at Guitar Center for $169. + tax.

It comes with Audacity software. Went together pretty easy with hubby's help.

I have messed with Pinnacle Studios software for videos so I am somewhat familiar with how to edit, etc.

I will be making CD's from my old Way LP's and then selling the LP's on ebay!!!

Sure have brought back some memories listening to those albums.

  5. Hey coolchef, I will give it to you and you can take over the payments!!!

polar bear, my hubby would sell our home in an instant and buy a houseboat and live on it if I would agree, but I won't agree. We don't have a marina in my hometown so we would have to live in Evansville, plus I like my home and it is only 10 minutes from my mom and 2 minutes from my dad!!

excathedra, thanks for your prayers. I expect that boat to sell anytime!!!!

kathy, the boat is over in Owenboro, KY, at a yacht sales place called the Boatman.

  6. bulwinkl, I may try that but I have installed the program that cman recommended, PLUS I already have Windows Media Player 11 and Real Player. They all say that there is an error in the writing process. (I have tried all three programs.)

I have used CD-RWs and CDs that I bought at Guitar Center Sunday. I changed the speed to 8x because one troubleshooting site I read said to do that if there is a problem.

I have checked my dvd burner for updates and troubleshooting and it says it is working properly.

    Any other suggestions????

  7. Suda,

Thank you for your post. It had to have taken quite a while to key in!!

I was where you were when I first came to waydale and then GS. I quickly changed my thinking and abhorred the things that happened so many years ago to so many ... and then more recently with lcm.

I respect you for taking your time to digest all that you read. I have seen some gradual changes these past several months.

I do wish that we had met before hubby and I left Memphis, but I had just been on gs for a while and we were so busy. Some time, though, when we go back to visit Memphis, I would love to meet you and Sudo at Salsa's in Germantown. I do miss that place!!!

    God bless you, Suda.

  8. Yesterday, I bought a Numark turntable usb, of course, it won't record cassette tapes.

I am listening to Star of the Show lp right now and saving it to my computer to burn to CD before I sell it and others on ebay.

So far I like it and set up was easy as long as you READ the instructions!!!

    Bought it at Guitar Center.

  9. dmiller, my parents owned a grocery store when I was growing up (in a small town of 900 people). He never sold cigarettes and many told him that he would never make it in the grocery business. He DID sell fantastic smoked hams and sausage that he made himself. I mentioned this on another thread about the meats. Anyway, including my parents there were 10 mouths to feed. We never went hungry!! But I guess it would be hard to have a liquor store and not sell liquor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!heehee

Dan, put your stuff on!!!!!!!!! I bet those cups will bring BIG BUCKS and you could donate part of the proceeds to me.... just kidding. Thinking about another post when I keyed this in!!!!!!!!!

    Hamm, you are right indeed.

Groucho, yeah, I am getting SOME of my money back that I donated over 19 years of my life.

dmiller, you are funny about the self-help books....

waterbuffalo, I try to do the same thing. Also, since most anybody can find out my name, due to posting about where I have lived and now live, etc. I am cautious about what I write MOST of the time. I am not anonymous. I would not intentionally hurt anyone's feelings ever in real life or in cyberspace.

  10. Thanks, waterbuffalo, for the kind words and coming to my defense. :eusa_clap:

When I first joined Greasespot Cafe, I read and read and read BEFORE I posted. I got a feel for the different types of people, and who I wanted to respond to and who I felt wasn't worth my cyber breath to respond to. Larry, maybe you should do the same. You have no idea what causes I currently donate to or may donate to in the future, but if you had read my posts, you would have the answer without making your snide remarks to me. But judging from your posts to me, I can see that you will be one of the 'not worthy of my cyber breath to respond to' from here on out. Have a great life and stop being so miserable and TRYING to make other people feel as you do.

  11. I will enjoy spending that money, Larry.

I had been out of twi for 6 YEARS when I found out about waydale. I told my sister that it was a trick of the adversary, blah blah, blah.... Then she had me read what a friend of hers had mailed her. Then I got on waydale and read some, then later Greasespot Cafe.

When I told my sister that it was not only Martindale but Wierwille also who had done horrible things to our sisters-n-Christ, she would not hear it. So I dropped it. One night over coffee, she said, "Well, you know what Dr. Wierwille said, It's the Word, It's the Word, It's the Word". I told her that he may have said it but he didn't LIVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ended up talking for a couple of hours. She then told me that someone we knew had told her about VP but she did not believe it. That someone helped prepare her heart for what I told her that nite over coffee.

Larry, you are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to mine.

As I stated before, if any of these folks asked me why I left, I will tell them...

As your mog said, "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still". They have to be ready to listen, until then they can just keep buying and reading my stuff...then they can sell it to someone else..... who can do the same!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, wdsandwrks, why not read a book by a person who actually may understand holiness!!!

Just got home from a nite of bluegrass music live on the Ohio River!!!!!!!!! Loved it.

  12. Thanks for the prayers, bowtwi and eyeseopen.

I like my avatar too. Of course, I will probably change it one of these days to something else!!!!

Regarding our boat, you can see it on The Boatman's website, plus they have it listed on boat trader on line.

We have taken good care of the boat, and enjoyed it immensely, but it is time to move on to other things.

So, for all of you that pray and post and pray and don't post, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. We have a beautiful 1998 Mariah 28 foot cabin cruiser.

Since we have moved back to my hometown, we have so much going on with family and friends that we don't use it like we did in Memphis.

Plus my hubby hurt his back and shoulder a few months ago and can't take care of it like he should.

It is at The Boatman in Owensboro, KY. They have had it since before July 4th.

Boating season is almost over but I am asking you all for prayers that we don't have to continue paying out monthly payments for this beauty.
