  1. Congratulations to you, Raf, and your wife-to-be!!!

Just this week I read somewhere, I think in the advice section of the newspaper, that when you marry a person, you also marry that person's lifestyle. I had never thought about it that way, but it seems correct to me.

Wishing you the best and post those lovely pictures when you can!!!!!!!

  2. God Bless you, Dot. You are one of a kind. I will always think highly of you and your life and integrity.

John, my nephew is currently attending Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA. His wife works at the Children's Hospital in LA. My nephew has a master's degree in education, but was lead to preach.

John, also, thank you for all you have done to open eyes of understanding for people, including me.

    God bless you, too!!

  3. Cool thread, Chas.

I had a pic of me in a hat that Linda Z had given me for about 3 years. Recently hubby and I bought our first Jaguar so I decided to change to that, even though I miss seeing me most every day in the gorgeous hat!!!!!!!

  4. ...when you have a conversation with people your not trying to constantly turn it around to the Word. You can just enjoy the person you are conversing with.

...you look at sweet little community churches and think nice thoughts about them and what they do for the community.

Yeah, I agree with all the above.

It is amazing once out of the cult to find out how much the local churches and communities DO for people. It has been humbling for me the past few years to think how self righteous I had become and how WRONG I was about so mnay things, including churhes.

So welcome, Hairgirl, and thanks to everyone for their input!!!

  5. Question for you snooty pan owners:

Have you ever heard of or use/used Saladmaster waterless cookware?

I bought my set almost 30 years ago and it still works great and looks great.

(For years, I really didn't cook much, but have more in the past 12 years or so.)

    What say the snooties??

  6. Sushi, Kevlar, WOG, and Shifra,

    LOVE THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

You know you are out of a cult, when you think of live music, good food, and fellowhip and think of a local festival and not the ROA!!!!!

A special plug for ROMP that is happening this weekend in Owensboro, KY. Marty Stuart will be here along with Del McCoury, and tons of other bluegrass musicians.

  7. WOW, that is superbly exciting.

My niece's husband's step-mom has been to Europe the past 2 summers for art gallery showings. She and her husband also took Mike's daughter with them last year and this year. The daughter will be back home next month. I can't wait to hear all about the places they visited. Savannah is only 11 years old.

    Anyway, good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You are very talented.

  8. Great thread, ex.

My first paying job was babysitting 3 kids. What a wild bunch they were. In fact, a year or so ago, I ran into the youngest one at a basketball game. My brother had to tell me who he was!!!

I graduated from high school 1/2 year early and went to work at a sewing factory. I sewed the back pockets onto blue jeans. Worked there for a year. It was interesting to see how those different parts came together to be a pair of jeans at the end of the line!!

Then I worked for the local country club restaurant for 3 months before going out wow, where I worked as a waitress...so many years ago!!!!

  9. Sam, Hamm, Bolshevik, JavaJane, Dooj,

    heehee...

I received a volunteer award a couple of years ago for helping at the women's shelter where my sis is the manager. It was cool to get an award for doing something 'good'.

That was when I knew I was for sure out of a cult!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Keep 'em coming!!

  10. You guys are good!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't reply to each post due to time to head to work.

You know you are out of a cult, if you

realize that it is ok for anyone to get a college education, not just the BOD or BOT's, or whatever they have called themselves, families.

Cheers to all of you that have and are doing it right now!!!

  11. She did very well considering that they put her on earlier than expected, plus as Hope said, she had to be vague about what she knows in the field of stalking.

    Good for her!!!

    Cheers!!

  12. Exactly, The HighWay!!!!

Also, when walking or biking your bike in the neighborhood, you stop and talk to your neighbors and not once mention anything 'spiritual' and not feel guilty about it!!!

Ok, it is almost time for Hope's sister to be on Fox !!! I don't feel guilty about wathcing tv at this hour of the day either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Amen to what everyone said about his dirty mouth. I was embarrased to hear what he said and was especially embarrased if new people were there, which was NOT often!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was a disgrace and still do, even though some dirty words pop out of my mouth occasionally. But not in front of a group of people, much less 'believers' for goodness sake. I also apologize to anyone that I say dirty words to, as I do not think it is ladylike or a Christian example. IMHO
