  1. Seems pick and choose depends much on the context of the situation. If its about THEM, they seem to like to pick something peaceful and "blessed" like Psalm 103. If its about OTHERS, they usually can find something nasty to curse with, like in Joshua with the Achan in the camp. Whatever fits the "need" I guess. It seems quite easy to steal the blessings or benefits of God for themselves, and at the same time leave the curses to hurl at the "ungodly" or "unfaithful" in their eyes. The unbridled tongue sure is evil, indeed.
  2. The real sad and scary part of all this is much of our former overseers, with da love of god in their souls, would do the same to some of us in the good old USA, if they COULD. And gladly, at that.
  3. Perhaps he should consider marrying up with himself..

Yep. The eyes of strange, erie things are upon us, Belle..
  5. Belle, I have witnessed this- but not exactly in the same words. It is MORE than just another notch in the belt. There are some that seem willing to sacrifice whole families over their arcane beliefs. They are willing to divide whole families simply to showcase the results of not following their stupid mandates to the letter. The last nice little suprise meeting with my ex and I, Mr. vegetables actually said, "when I separate you, then we will find out what really is wrong". The guy was (still probably is) a RAVING LUNATIC. We did not admit it at the time, but at least we finally saw it. We left the meeting, and never came back. His last words, "well, what do you have to say?" "Hmmm. I'll get back to you on it, bye". Mr. vegetables, you farking idiot, don't even think about claiming some victory that the almighty YOU split us up. Just wait till you see what's coming to YOU. Let's see you justify THAT. Miserable SOB.. The scary part, the miserable SOB is STILL in charge of no less than a REGION.

Deleted. Wouldn't have done much good anyway. Belle, hope you had a nice weekend. It was rather hot here Saturday.
  7. When I first read the title of the thread, I thought it might be something like Brooke in one corner, Cruise in the other, some kind of boxing match. Cruise would probably hit the canvas a half a second after the bell rung.
  8. I really liked Brooke's reply. My God, he is worried about her CAREER- what an idiot. Last I understood, she acquired a not too shabby college degree. What about Cruise? I guess he went out and got a scientology degree or something..
  9. Well Raf, one good thing comes out of all this. Good old Tommy boy has held these insane doctrines up for public scrutiny. Maybe next time, somebody in scientology will have a leash on him..

    Its Field Day!

Well, I'm off. Have a good weekend folks, I know I will.
  11. "Yeah" or something I've always been partial to Martians.

U.P. is nice though. Did you know that Ohio traded it to us for Toledo?

Well, Rascal, not around here unless you have a boat and can go out on the lake. Now, the good old days in WV, I remember the bass in the little streams just about 2 1/2 feet long, or better!

Belle, I hear Florida has its own unusual landmarks- sink holes.

Belle, I am studying Chemistry. I am about 3/4 the way to an associates degree, about 1/2 way to a bachelor's depending upon how much of it transfers to a large school. So far, all I took will transfer. I actually perform far better in math and physics- but the community college does not offer a two year degree in physics and math. Don't think they can. Then there's the masters, then the doctorate- but at this point, I am only dreaming..

Don't get me wrong, Michigan is nice, but MOST of it is geographically "challenged"- i.e., no hills.

Well, I never did do any white-water rafting when I was there. Don't know if I ever will. I do go back about once a year to spend time with Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. Don't know how long I will stay in Michigan, but there really is not much holding me here. My kids are here, but we would still see each other a couple times a year or so.. I'd like to finish school here before making any big moves though.

Ah. How did you end up in Florida? I came to Michigan in 77 as a WOW. I miss my old home state sometimes- West Virginia. Its hot there, too.

For me, you really have to SHOW ME the product BEFORE I will buy it. Let's take it out for a test drive, see it really can run at 210 MPH on the expressway. Its a chance you must be willing to take. I took classes and such before, based on a person's claim that they were the greatest thing since sliced bread. Turned out to be quite an exaggeration. For me, not again. Well, Belle, hopefully it will be a little cooler in the morning. I plan on getting the major work done before 9 AM.

Well Belle, it is NOT raining here. It's darn hot, and I am still enough of a radio fanatic to go out tomorrow in the sweltering heat and try to put some wire up in the air..

Even if the answer is "spiritual understanding" or something like that, there has GOT to be a few details. Whether you are ridiculed or not is irrelevant. Truth stands on its own. If it is truth, it will withstand scrutiny. Let's hear it.

Maybe I'm a newcomer here, but the only thing I observe is the same question being asked, repeatedly. Sometimes sarcastically, sometime with real care and concern. What is the answer?

For the record, I have NEVER heard whatever answer it is. Other than "you'll be 'blessed'" or "you'll be suprised"..
