While in TWI, starting at 17 or so, I did the cleanse maybe 7 or 8 times. I liked it, and with the exception of the psyllium seed powder (see My3Cents post) I didnt think it was that difficult....although, once while I was doing it I was taking some horseback riding lessons and passed out flat away.......all the way to the ground Now, I work for a chiropractor and we sell all kinds of different cleanses, all are totally effective but not as drastic as the VE Irons, Vitratox cleanse. This is the REALLY wild thing though; a few weeks ago I went down to SC for a colonic, while there I was talking to the clinician and told her that I had done many cleanses and started telling her about VE and Vitratox........she looked at me with total shock..........THAT IS WHAT THEY SELL now. It is marketed differently now and is available for Drs, etc to put their own label. WHAT A HOOT!!! ror

When it comes to large breed dogs.....ANY large breed dogs, the socialization and training is paramount. A few years ago at my office a "dog de bordeax" (french pit bull) went for my neck and bruised my chin but was jerked back before he broke the skin. Needless to say, he was never invited back. A number of years ago, my aunt and uncle who had a "pack of chows" realized why they are so highly prized as fighters. My their daughters husband was at home alone with the pack and one of them *snapped.* The dog jumped up and latched on to my cousin's arm right before the shoulder. The man was able to make it into the garage with the chow locked onto his arm, there, he grabbed a rifle and shot the dog off. There are some really bad traits bred into every breed.....but more than that..............there are some really bad traits bred into their breeders. We as a society ought to out right ban back yard breeders. Radar

I may be wrong about this, but that Toledo house was originally purchased by twi for Dr & Mrs (Cxxs and Bxxb) Zxna to live in. LCM moved in with them after leaving hq so that they could "keep an eye" on him, rumor had it he was extremely "depressed." Does anyone remember this for sure? First, I have to say this, perimenopausal women and women with thyroid issues should not eat eggplant more than once a month. It elevates estrogen levels and other things. That said........I LOVE EGGPLANT and have a recipe similar to likeaneagle's only I bake the eggplant circles that have been coated in italian breadcrumbs. You can also slice it very thin lengthwise, brush with garlic infused olive oil and grill it on the grill............yummo. ror

I am not exactly sure what BEACH dancing is........but I THINK that is what is referred to as SHAG DANCING. It is a big deal down here at Wrightsville Beach and Carolina/Kure Beach. There are Shag dancing clubs that totally pack in hundreds of folks during the tourist/summer months......and NO........I don't know how to Shag :blink: ror

NNL, 100% right thing to do. I have to tell you my story. I grew up in the SF bay area..........PERFECT year round weather......a little on the liberal side I was on staff in New Knoxville for 9 years, most of which I lived off grounds on a little pleasure farm owned by some fellow staffers. One January night it was - a million degrees (translation 4 degrees above zero.) The neighbor, a non wayfer had about 25 sheep which were all outside in their crib.........cuddled together on a snowy, freezing night. What did I do? I called the Auglaize County Human Society to report the neighbor for cruelty to animals..........WELL...........the next day the neighbor showed up at my house and made sure I understood that the sheep were F U C K I N G ANIMALS.........and to stay out of his bizness..... NNL.....we can't help it if we love ALL OF GOD'S CREATURES. xxooo ror

Most of you know......I am a left coaster. I grew up in Northern California, the SF bay area ...we had our traditions there........ The coastal influence........salmon or lobster with a clam or oyster stew/chowder. The hispanic influence..... ask Socks <_< As a german......when my (transplanted) German grandma did the cooking it was always did the pork and sauerkrat, traditional dinner. Pork for health, sauerkrat for wealth........(in germany, sauerkraut was the equivelent of green$ ) Now I live in North Carolina.....New Years isnt New Years without Pork, Black eyed Peas and Collards........same idea........health (the pork and black eyed peas) and the wealth (the green$ which symbolizes wealth. Growing up, my family celebrated Christmas on Christmas Day. As an adult, I like to have two celebrations. The first one, Christmas Eve, a wonderful dinner, intimate, quiet, maybe one gift or two. Then on Christmas day..........total feast that can be served all day long...........as a buffet for people to come in and out......... This year......I am making a small leg of lamb for Christmas Eve........asparagus, mashed horseradish potatoes (for me this is a big deal....I am diabetic so I live a low carb life style ) Then THE DAY......a small ham, a pot of collards and scalloped potatoes for my mom. Captain Crunch, et al......... I want to make sure that you understand where I am coming from. I have never attended a CES fellowship, listened to a tape.....or spoken to John Lynn in 17 years. I have no dog in this CES thing......other than to feel very sad for all concerned, I lived thru POP at a very close level and I know how it feels to have had my life and ministry come tumbling down around me. IN my opinion the publication of those so called prophecies and the publication of a letter from a wife to her ex husband are simply pornography. You might as well have published the doggy sex video here..........it would have received the SAME RESULTS that you wanted to get.........people coming in to gawk.....but aren't involved and don't have all the facts.......or understanding of the situation. Most people here at gspot aren't cessers.........and have little in common with that organization other than having come from the original "grandparent" cult. You might BELIEVE that you are the angel of light and might bringing this all here.......but, in my mind and opinion, YOU ARE PART OF THE CES problem......just itching ears. I am probably gonna be scaled in boiling water and then burned at the stake for this one but here I go........... Just because a person is a veteran does not make them worthy of a halo. I appreciate their service during war times and peace times both..........that said being a veteran doesn't make some a "good person." I can name endless examples..........but I will start with my dad. He ran away at 15 and joined the marines (obviously he lied) and was sent to Korea. He also served in Viet Nam, and he spent 18 months in what was then the Walter Reed soldiers hospital. I am sure he was brave and killed lots of commies. But, he was also a mean son of a bi tch that put my mom and I through hell until the day he died 3 years ago, and even longer since we just recently settled his probate case. My point here is this..............Veterans Day is a wonderful and great tribute to those that serve. Jumping down the throat of a fellow gspotter for using the term veteran is wierd and mean. We made it thru just fine, it was really just a bad rainy storm. Lots of flooding here, but I am above the flood zone :), a few limbs and branches, leaves and pine cones. If it helps anyone...........I knew him also, was in the corps with him and went lead with him. Even knowing him as I did, the catmandu thing still surprised me. It was a terrible time here for us all.........God knows his antics put some of us through a VERY trying time. I am gonna be in his neck of the woods in a couple of weeks, anybody have any greetings they would like me to deliver personally?? The guy needs help but this is not the place for him to get it. We have a number of great institutions here in our state that could help him. Maybe he and his lawyer ought to discuss THAT. Radar

I agree with QT, giving to the charity of YOUR choice, any charity that you want to give to, how much you want to give to them is NOT what this thread is about. This thread is about how twi turned a wonderful, godly principle in the bible into spiritual coercion, if not outright blackmail. I am glad you have found away to continue giving and being blessed.......because God really loves a cheerful giver. Radar
