  1. I beg to differ about your assertion that your singer's better than MY singer. Be that as it may, my suspicion is it's one of our very own posters.
  2. Kathy, I would think so, since i showed at one of her concerts with an LP for her to sign. It had been 17 years since I had seen her.
  3. Yes, Kathy, that picture was probably taken on a cruise concert Christine did once. It was also after I 'introduced' Hope to Christine.
  4. I agree with Kathy on Frank Sinatra.
  5. ***Actually posted by Sushi*** I'm just an arm chair psychologist, but it would seem to me (to paraphrase Eric Hoffer, author of "The Passionate State Of Mind") the more emptiness a person feels, the more likely he/she is likely to 'latch onto' a cause. Just think back when you got into the 'ministry'. Were things going great? I know for myself they weren't. My parents had just gotten divorced, and I was never a real social person to begin with. Then along came these people who seemed to like me and to actually want to hang out. To be honest, I never really went in for the witnessing and stuff, but did it under silent protest. I just wanted to know I was 'okay'. Getting back to the present, it would appear those who are gung ho, on either side, are truly lacking in their personal lives. They see the organization as the only thing worthwhile. The next natural progression to me is, they develop a 'Messianic' complex, having to 'save', deliver' all those who don't agree with their particular way of looking at things. For a musical reference, try listening to Billy Joel's "Angry Young Man". It may shed some light on this.
  6. Sushi's been posting again but this post was written by ABIGAIL************************ Well yeah, it is not my desire to name names, other than of those who perhaps post on this thread. I don't like to talk about specific posters who may not even know they are being discussed, it just seems rude. Also, to clarify, I am not talking about what goes on in the doctrinal forums either. In the doctrinal forums, all doctrine is fair game for discussion. But seems that often, threads in other forums get sidetracked from their original topic when those who are generally viewed as "VPW" defenders post an opinion, even if the topic has nothing to do with VPW, for example. I dunno, maybe I am wrong about the whole thing and shouldn't have started the thread - but it just seemed to strike me, after reading some of the other posts regarding "throwing stones" etc. That maybe we (and I don't mean EVERYONE, but am trying to keep this simple) are less tolerant of those who hold to some or all of PFAL than we are of others. But just because we disagree on doctrinal issues doesn't mean we have to drag that into discussions that aren't doctrinal to begin with, does it?
  7. *****darn, darn, darn, posted by ABIGAIL****** How dare you ask such ignorant questions! Just kidding. Most of your questions have already been answered and debated in the thread. But to sum up and answer a few of your questions - yes there still are people of Judean bloodline, alive and well today. How many of us are still of a "pure" bloodline could certainly be debated. However, prior to the 70's or so, it was still rather unusual, even in the United States, for a Jewish person to marry a non-Jewish person. Basically, the Jewish people scattered all over. In fact, you will note in the Bible that most of it deals with those of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin and is virtually nothing is said of what happened to the other 10 tribes and where they went. However, DNA testing supports the claim that we are legit. Yes, the Natzis killed groups outside of Jews. Jews were a large part of their focus, but certainly not the sole focus. As for why, well trying to understand the mind of an insane man is somewhat difficult to do. But the main theory is that he wanted to create a superior and pure race. Could it happen again? Sure, history repeats all the time. Will it? Well, whether or not it will in Europe, I have no idea, but genocide is still alive and well in a number of countries around the world.
  8. No, it's not Lisa Kudrow. If you go to the Nostalgia thread, you'll find more examples of her work. Or, you can go to christinelavin.com for more info. I'm rather biased when it comes to her, so I may not be the best person to ask for info, since I think 99 and 44/100% of her stuff is brilliant.
  9. Abigail asked me to post this to (it is to be hoped, anyway) inject some levity here. So HERE! you go.
  10. ****posted by ABIGAIL************* "note : you called yerself a 'stone thrower, *itch etc..) something I would never do.." I suspect that is only because I said it first and because you know it wouldn't make any difference to me if you did. But I"m betting, if you knew where my vulnerable spot was and thought you could get to it - you would. Thing is, I've seen enough of your posts by now, that as I said in a different thread, you lack credibility in my opinion and therefore you have no power over my weak areas. "I defend my beliefs here against all-comers whether they be 'new-ager', 'wiccan', 'jw', 'agnostic', 'lsd's' whatever....as many of my posts attest to." You have gone way beyond "defending your beliefs", leapt well across that boundary and into one that is tantamount to force feeding your beliefs upon others. And why is it mostly only Mo and the LDS? See, it doesn't add up. There are a number of people who believe very differently than you, whom you don't stalk and force feed your crap to. I am Jewish - my beliefs are different than yours. But I guarantee you if you had done to me, what you have done to Mo. . . . well lets just say Paw would have to ban one of us because as is obvious from this thread, I am not as gracious and patient and she is. And don't misunderstand. I am aware that Mo is perfectly capable of handling herself. But I am sick and tired of seeing discussion after discussion that I would LIKE to participate in, get totally sidetracked by your obsession. So it doesn't effect just her - it effects many of those who would like to participate in conversations where she posts. "If Paw only wants VP, PFAL mockers and haters posting here, then I guess he will 'moderate' me." What Paw wants and choses to do is up to Paw. But I do not have issues with those who are often called "VPW Defenders" as long as they are respectful of others. I have had many conversations and respectful debates with Oldiesman, Mike, and JohnIam. I have likewise had a couple of fun converstations with one of our newer posters who is still involved with TWI. To me, it is simple - you want to be treated with respect? Then give some to the others around you. You have failed miserable there. "But I can at least put my hand on my heart and say that I have never spewed out venom towards a fellow poster the way a few of you have." Perspective and filters. Allan, perhaps you should go back and re-read your own posts. Even AFTER being told, (for example) that your remarks on the "fat" thread were not helpful and were in fact, hurtful, you continued anyway. So don't try to sell me the "poor Allan" bit, because I"m not buying. Nor do I believe you have been misunderstood. Likewise, Allan - I have been hanging at the cafe nearly since the day it opened. Even people who don't particularly like me would not describe me as venemous. It is the rare person who can actually draw my inner bitch out on these forums - so congrats, you've accomplished what few others could do. "to get back to your question...come on, the way Sogwap, Freud and Jung, CKmckeon not to mention a number of other first time and 'new' posters get 'jumped on' here....who REALLY has the problem ?? Hell, EVEN Paw got jumped on when he brought this up !! " I agree that new posters often get treated like crap around here. Hell, I was once one of those new posters who got 'initiated". I've made my views on that perfectly clear. But you no longer qualify as a new poster and you have earned the reputation you now have. Question is, if you don't like it, what are you going to do about it? As for Paw, well some of us disagreed with his assessment of a particular conversation, but I'd hardly call what anyone did in expressing their disagreement as "jumping on him". Perhaps you simply need more time to learn how to respectfully disagree with or debate with someone else. "pps..and as I've stated before, the signs, miracles, wonders I have witnessed and been involved with even after leaving twi 'attests' TO ME that there is ample fruit in my life in my work for Jesus Christ. I'm not interested in being a 'lard- ar*e' pseudo- Christian for HIM, that's probably where myself and other posters part our own ways." Well damned good for you. I'm not interested in being a Christian, pseudo or otherwise, so I guess we almost agree on something. I think you pick on those whom you think you can get away with picking on and you have absolutely no balls whatsoever, When someone gives you back a bit of what you have dished out you start whining and crying "poor me". Well, as my dad used to say, "you plant potatoes you get potatoes". So, if you don't like the venom being spewed at you, you have 3 choices that I can think of: 1) you can leave, 2) you can make sure you don't spill any of your own venom, or 3) you can make sure you don't spill your venom on any of the threads I post on. I have ignored your venom on a number of threads for quite some time now, and I am done ignoring you. I really hope you opt for number 2, because if you've produced fruit as you say you have, you have a lot of valuable things to contribute here.
  11. I'm not on this particular version, but I did sing back up at one of her concerts. HERE!
  12. 1. For Sudo: HERE! 2. Also for Sudo: HERE!
  13. Is "Getcher Tongue Outta My Mouth, Cause I'm Kissin' You Goodbye" a real song?
  14. Yes, it is in fact, "Vincent". I was going to post the two you requested Sudo, but I'm having difficulty getting into Rick's server. :( (in fact, impossible)
  15. Yes, I heard it too, Kathy. I'm going to fix it. But in the mean time, what is the actual name of THIS song?
  16. One especially for the ladies: HERE!
  17. ***damn damn damn - posted by ABIGAIL******* "I think I've learned more about myself on GSC than anything else." Johniam - you and I are often on opposite sides of debate. In addition, you often say things that really *%^#* me off. But I have to admit - you also say things that show your "human side" (only for lack of a better term) and that leaves me stuck thinking you are at least a little bit a-okay. :D
  18. **** Posted by Abigail - as obviously Sushi is neither short nor female************** :D Bramble, I am short too and mine didn't really hurt at all - it was just some pressure, but not pain. "Who did you go to? Mine were horrible! Well, all except one. The girl must have known what she was doing that time. Some of them think if they don't make you squeal they aren't doing their job." I had mine done at the county hospital. They have a "breast clinic". "Please dont wait. Do it now. If you want to know why I'll give you a few reasons. The first is your kids. Do you want them to not have a mom. For the second go visit a cancer hospital. Cancer sucks." Yeah, Ex70, my mom died from breast cancer. She knew she had a mass in her breast that was cancerous and needed to have surgery - but she put it off because she didn't want to be in the hospital during the summer months. By the time she had the surgery, it was too late. The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes.
  19. No, it's not James, it's his brother Livingston ( I'm not being facetious). Too tired to post anything tonight, perhaps tomorrow morning.
