Gee, most unfortunate.

Could be interesting. Heard about it on Bob and Tom. HERE!

I'm not trying to be contrary (comes natural), but it seems to me, that bike was going way too fast for conditions. It appears to be a residential area, and at least in the US, the speed limit is generally 25 mph. Now Alice didn't LIVE in the restaurant, she lived in the church nearBY the restaurant...............

Seth, I'm having a hard time here too, with the 'president'. Is that in fact, his title? If so, I could understand his attitude. And, if elected to the office, is there a path of recourse?

Don't you just hate it when you try to annoy people and it doesn't work?
-
You probably wouldn't recognized it, if you're not a Jackson Browne fan.

"This is only my stretching warm up for the dinner plate".

Yeah, I know, I'm a crusty curmudgeon with a heart of gold........ but, HERE! goes......... This was released twenty years ago, but still seems relevant today.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could do this in peace time?

I like it. Is it the Beyonce version? I only say that because of the relative lack of vocal gymnastics which I heard about a while back on The Bob And Tom Show.

Being a Jersey truck driver, I wholly agree with this. There are just those times when only a hearty F YOU (with appropriate hand gestures, of course) will suffice. Admittedly though, I have cleaned up my normal speaking manner since moving to Michigan and not wanting to impress upon our two boys it is an acceptable way of expressing one's self. Besides, you can say just about anything if you use the right words. For example: Instead of telling someone they have their head up their arse....you can say either...... "Oh, I see you suffer from cranial/rectal inversion disorder" Or, "I see your head is inserted in an orifice normally intended as an exit" Since America seems to be getting stupider by the second, your stunned victim will have to THINK about what you've said, thus allowing you ample escape time.

For those anxiously awaiting the answer, it is Ellen Foley, the FIRST public defender on "Night Court". Yes, before Markie Post there was ANOTHER public defender, though admittedly, Markie Post was much easier to look at.
-
No, probably not.

Yes, in order to live to be 100, you have to give up all the things that would make you WANT to live to be 100.

You may also want to check out anything by Joseph Campbell. He was considered the world's leadiing authority on comparative religions. My personal recommendation would be either, "The Hero of a Thousand Faces" or, "Myths To Live By". The latter should prove to be an easier read, since it's only about a tenth as long as the former.

I haven't contributed anything of late, so here goes. My apologies if I've asked this before, but who is the female lead? For bonus points, name the person doing the 'play by play' near the end of the middle. HERE! That's just not right, it worked the FIRST time !!!

Well, you finally found me out, Sudo. It is my raison d'etre, to make you look silly. (Really, it's not my intent, it just happens) I found it amusing solely because of the words involved. As in, "The Flight Of The BUMBLEBEE" being used as the theme for "The Green HORNET". Nothing more, nothing less.

Does anyone else find it amusing that they used "The Flight Of The Bumblebee" for the theme song?

In light of the Interfaith Dialogue Discussion
Sushi replied to Abigail's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
****posted by ABIGAIL**** oooops Allan, yes most Jews are still waiting for the first coming of the Messiah. There are some who do believe Jesus was the Messiah, they are known as Messianic Jews. However, many Jews believe that Jesus was a great prophet and teacher. That is the category I fall into. So, in sum, that would mean that the larger number of Jews do not believe Jesus was the only begotten son of God. But roughly that same number would believe that we are ALL sons of God. But, as Sushi says, ask 5 Jews a question and you will likely get at least six different answers. As I said earlier in this thread, there is a great diversity of opinion and belief among Jewish people. -
Bein from Soprano Land don't hoit. "Believe it or not, some guys might actually do something like unzip if you stare like that. Ie., they'll actually think that you're interested." I have to agree with Garth on this, Vickles, NOT a good move. "And darned if it hasn't happened yet....." On a similar note, I have yet to run into any religious zealots since getting out of the evil empire, so's I can mess with 'em. I don't go looking for them, but if they will just show up at my door, I WILL try to put that 'still, small' doubt in their heads (depending on if I have the time or not) .

The Curse of Eve and the Healing of the World
Sushi replied to Abigail's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
*****posted by ABIGAIL******* who should have had her coffee first! Danny, your creation story reminds me a bit of the Lilith story in reverse. :D Mo, There is a similar belief in Judaism, in that the eating of the tree of knowledge was always a part of the plan, as it was a step forward in "evolution". It was that fruit which gave Adam and Eve the higher knowledge that other animals do not have. However, the plan was for them to eat it on the Sabbath and where they blew it was in eating of it too soon. Roy, I too enjoy the various accounts. I think they all carry aspects of truth. -
Not to be a spoilsport or anything, but it was our own President Reagan who coined "trust, but verify". and, "You just could possibly have struck gold....dig a little deeper and you'll know for sure." Surely, you're not suggesting Cowgirl is a 'gold digger'.
