  1. Gentle reminder, without singling anyone out: Everyone is welcome to post on every thread. However, there are certain assumptions on the doctrinal threads. In order to avoid having EVERY thread descend into an argument about whether God exists, we've asked unbelievers [including myself] to limit comments to that effect. This is not to say we cannot post at all. But have called point. [for example, my posts as Raf in Idiom of Permission were critical of Christianity, but they really attacked a method of interpretation]. It can get nitpicky. When in doubt, make a quick comment and start a new related post in the appropriate subforum. Believers should feel free to explore the meaning of scripture without constantly being on the defensive about being people of faith. Ok? Please? Thanks.
  2. Great guess! Wrong guess. But great nonetheless.

    Love

A moderator, not THE moderator. :) If we want to talk about how TWI distorted the definition of love for its selfish ends, the thread belongs here. If we want to talk about what love really is and should be, the thread belongs in doctrinal. My initial impression was the latter. If I was mistaken I will reconsider, but either way, the thread stays put for now because the subject matter certainly overlaps.
  4. Secret Life of Pets 2 Expendables 3 Apocalypse Now
  5. Conan O'Brien used to conduct seances summoning the spirit of this actor, who had not yet died.
  6. When this show was originally in development, the producers approached the band that sang "Happy Together" to compose the theme song. It didn't happen, and the producers created their own, which is now iconic.
  7. That is correct. Also, the two threads are now merged and renamed with the new thread to avoid confusion.
  8. Definitely a case of the music being more familiar than the lyrics. I HATED this song. And haven't thought of it in decades. So thank you, from the bottom of my spleen, for reminding me. Yeah, cheated and disqualified, gladly, because I wouldn't remember this title or artist to save my life.
  9. Actually, having the hots for childbearing women while in their 80s is the trait that was passed on, I think.
  10. That's about as close as you're gonna get without getting the actual correct answer, so I'm giving it to you. John Tyler was born during George Washington's presidency. Harrison Tyler is John Tyler's grandson. No, not great great great grandson. Just grandson, as in, John Tyler, born in the late 1700s, was his Daddy's Daddy.
  11. [I don't know why I read WWI when George clearly wrote WWII. Getting my glasses checked].
  12. The man's NAME is a hint. Millions of schoolkids recite his name [first and last, not middle] unwittingly at least once a year. They don't know they're doing this because they're actually doing something else.
  13. Nope. Born in 1928. Pretty sure not a WWI vet. Probably too young for WWII. Which makes his claim to fame even more hard to fathom.
  14. But Ford was elected congressman, if I recall correctly. Unlike Herbert flipping Hoover
  15. Ok. Add "some poorextra stuntman tied to a cross and thrown over a waterfall"
  16. So at this point most of us forgot this thread was here, so I started a new one having forgotten the old one. Except it was my turn in the old one, too, so no harm no foul. Next clue: "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
  17. Until X Nemesis was worse than III, by far. But II, IV and VI were the best of the original cast. III was the best of the odd numbered entries, including the next gen cast. Nemesis [X] was better than I and V, but not as good as III
  18. "You know when I was in school we used to sing it something like this..."
