Vickles I read your story and don't have anything useful to contribute except that what I have found working in offices for over 20 years is that I believe one gets the best results when one keeps their mouth shut and does their work. I don't go to work to socialize and make friends. If I want to socialize, I do it on my own time, during lunch hour or before or after work, not on the bosses time. Perhaps this person was annoyed because of that? You being all friendly and all and it looks like you're not giving an honest day's work? Don't know, I'm only guessing. That person shot themselves in the foot by giving that ultimatum. However, if I were you, I'd just watch my back, and look busy. :)-->

I own shares in a cooperative, and have an adjustable rate mortgage with Charter One. No problems here. Rate goes up and down depending upon how the market goes. But the rate cannot go more than 2% higher in a single year, which is a good safety. Doesn't pay to refinance.

It all depends upon your point of view. Where twi got it wrong was when they taught that everything that happens to you both pos. and neg. is because of your believing. We learn from experience that things happen both good and bad whether or not one believes, so that's one teaching in PFAL I'd scrap. But it says someplace in the bible that all good things are from above. Now that's something I can take to the bank. Connecting all the good things in your life to God, and being thankful to God for them, is a great way to live in peace and harmony. :)-->

Zixar, I am taking Alpha Lipoic Acid, which is an antioxidant. Are you saying that the use of Penta and other oxygenated water works against these antioxidants? Also are free radicals the same as "free oxygen"?

This is just another one of those rules that transformed into massive legalism in the 1990's. VPW once said that mortgages for homes were ok. I never had a problem with twi employees not being allowed to getting mortgages. Sounds awful I know, but if you're a salaried employee, then twi is paying for your housing anyway, so why should you OWN a house on my dime? But then they obviously took steps further as folks have attested to. Is it really true that family coordinators can't have a mortgage? You mean to tell me that twi would rather not have a fellowship in that area, a solid family with a mortgage can't serve as twi coordinators? That sounds awfully strange, why would they mandate that on the FC level, won't they be cutting off their noses to spite their faces? As of 1991 (the last time I attended fellowship) this mandate wasn't true. If it exists today, it's really dumb.

Mike, I thought the greatest way to take PFAL was a one week vacation, at a PFAL camp. :)--> Why do 3 weeks when you can do the whole job in one? No distractions, no traffic, no worry about getting to work in the morning. Devotion with motion. Expressive arts. Country bliss.

In the early 1970's, things were different. Excited ever increasing crowds make for exciting times. Back in those days, you'd see a new face almost every fellowship. Didn't worry about one or two who decided not to show the next time, cause you had five new folks over there. It becomes irksome and grevious when the same old 8-10 people come week after week, month after month, year after year. No new folks equals dead twig. Booooooooooooring. Then the coordinator has to watch out for every leaf individually, cause that's all he has. Fear sets in. He wonders whether the twig is alive or dead. What if one or two doesn't show? Gotta put more controls on, cause gee that means they don't want to be here. They're cop outs, they need more commitment. uh oh. Is this twig dying? yes. And so you have that spiral towards defeat.

Thanks folks. That's why I tip my hat to anyone who actually went back, after leaving or getting dismissed. It must have been hard enough to finish the program, but imagine going back after leaving. Geeze. That took so much guts and determination to do it all over again. More than I was able to muster.

I remember going to twig in Manhattan sometime in the middle to late 1980's. Before fellowship, I asked the coordinator to please minister to me, cause I was feeling really crappy all that day. He said: well no, you need to hear the Word, and you will get healed. About 5 minutes later, with a concerned look on his face, he called me over and apologized, and said how foolish he was for thinking that, that I came to twig to be blessed and healed. So he ministered to me then, before the teaching, and I felt a whole lot better. I respected him alot for catching and correcting himself in what was less than God's best. :)-->

Excathedra, thanks for the kind words. I never really had the heart to go back after that trauma, though I flirted with the thought from time to time. The burden was too great for me to bear. But what did Jesus say, my yoke is easy and my burden is light? ;)-->.Took me a couple of years to recover, but after that, being Joe Believer at twig was easy and light.

I vaguely recall VPW saying in the early '70's, that the best way Corps money should come is from the participant, or their family.I never thought of Way Corps sponsorship as a sham, but when you really think about it, how did Way Corps sponsors benefit? Not much. Were they taken for a ride too? Would have been much better had Corps folks saved up their own loot to join the Corps. But that's another stow-ry.

Well since the tax system encourages more and more children, I think I'll pick up a few for tax reduction purposes. ha!

Putting aside the oxygen content for a moment, let's not forget that Penta Water is simply good and pure W-A-T-E-R. That means all the beneficial effects of pure clean water on the system, whatever they might be, would be realized while drinking Penta just like other pure waters. They say they've done tests and it's supposedly easier to be assimilated and hydrates better than other water. Whatever. I do know that it gives lots of folks a feeling of well being, so I say go for it. LOTS of folks buy and enjoy this stuff. Yeah it's expensive, I guess around 50% more than its competitors. I wish it were less expensive.

Craig actually wrote me a letter a couple of months later, asking me if I had reapplied... Wasn't in the same mindset though. Oh well...
