For the most part I like most dogs. My favorite are labs, we've had around all 21 years of our married life. The present one is a black one named Isobella, named by the kidlet while she was learning about Christopher Columbus. We also have a Yorkshire terrier, Maggie, my first and last small dog. She is funny because she bosses the lab and our 3 cats around. I love her but she barks way too much for me. As Maggie is getting up in years and starting to have big time arthritis in her back, we are starting to have to think about putting her to sleep. :( We will cry for her and miss her. When we next get a dog I would like a Great Dane. I have always wanted one and would like to get one before I am too old to handle it! The only dog that I am unsure about are pit bulls and only because people are inbreeding them way too much. And here in Texas (I think they are the Texas state dog) almost every week somebody gets bitten, owner included. I don't so much blame the dogs they are bred for fighting. But I do blame the owners for not thinking about what the breed is for and for not checking the breeding, and for not teaching them obedience. I guess I bring this up because about a year ago an elderly lady was mowing her yard on a riding mower and her neighbor's 2 pits pulled her off the mower and killed her. The trial was just this last month. The pit bull's owner was held accountable and owes the lady's family quite a bit of money now. There are also new laws about if you own a dangerous dog you must keep it restrained where it cannot hurt anyone. The 2 pits were kept in a chain link fence and climbed over. Was too awful to hear about.

Great pics Ron, reminds me of when I lived in the Ozarks. Really miss the place sometimes. And didn't your son get that gun from Texas?!?!? Looks like the one they issue with your birth certificate here.

I used to love spring. But that was back when I lived some place where it exsisted. Here spring might last a whole week before the temps jump up into the 80's, shortly followed by the 90's, then the 100's. So please forgive me for being the person that wants "winter" to linger. Winter here means temps in the 50's.

Yep I am one of those who left for awhile. I had too much going on in my life to be here. I did come and catch up every now and then. And now I am back Bwahahaha! I was never much of a poster and still am not. But folks here are my friends, even if they don't know me I feel as if I know them. :)

Ratz! Cloudy as usual. But one year we just sat in our backyard, in the city yet and saw 146. It was great!

How come looking at thhis countdown feels more like time until an execution!? Bah humbug! Just a few more treeless, presentless, tinsel-less, twinklelightless days. Oh wait I do like the twinklelights. Our main Christmas tradition is hubby and I having the discussion of how many lights can you put on the tree before there is a blackout? I personally don't think 20 strands of 300 are too many! Waysider, I hope you get your Lincoln Logs. One year my brother got up early before everyone else and opened his Lincoln Logs. When we got up later, in the light of the Christmas tree, we thought the dog had pooped on the floor.

Hey it will more day until for us. We are waiting to do the Christmas thing until the kidlet's boy come home from Iraq. He is another Christmas lover and is sad about missing out over there in the big sandbox. And crap George, you reminded me that we have a young cat this year who will more than likely climb the tree and undecorate it for us. Hummmm... well bring on the eggnog I guess! :unsure:

Hey! thanks for the welcomes everybody. Even tho I don't have an avitar yet it was really me when I checked! And T-bone I don't know T.H.E. Cat but it sounds like a hoot! I always watch Felix the Cat. But I am Tcat because my friends and family call me T and I like cats. And dogs too. But Tcat was better than tdog.

BAH HUMBUG!!!! And the kid has to take the tree and stuff when she moves out. I can see it now tiny apartment with no furniture but a great 8 foot tree!
