  1. If there are any "lurkers" out there who would like to give it a try, feel free to jump in now. I've posted directions for inserting photos from the web on p. 22 of this thread. George
  2. We have a winner! Steve!, would you like to post one? George
  3. I think it's ABOUT time that someone else got one. George
  4. "You know, I never knew how much this man's voice annoyed me." "I should've listened to my father. He always warned me this was going to happen." "What, that you'd spend your final hours in jail? I could've told you that." "I thought your father told you to stay out of there!" "If you don't tell him, I won't." George
  5. Definitely a Q episode. Q gives Riker his powers for a while. I believe it was entitled "Hide and Q." George
  6. Sounds like a "Q" episode from NG. I vaguely remember one where a female crewmember is put in a "penalty box." Picard tries to cheer her up. I don't remeber any more (and, of course, that may not be the episode of interest here). George
  7. "Something" is "Smith." The other two ladies are Ana Gasteyer (from Saturday Night Live) and Anna Torv (starring on Fringe). You're up! George
  8. Indeed. Ben Stein + several Annas (and an Ana). For extra credit, can you name them? George
  9. I don't think my good times were a "means" for your discomfort, if that's what you're implying. My PhD was a "means to an end." My marriage is a "means to an end." I enjoy them both, even if others had crappy times in grad school, or crappy marriages. My life ain't about you. George
  10. In our (for the time being) free-market society, brideofjc is free to charge what (s)he believes the market will bear. Having learned Greek in high school (let's hear it for the Jesuits), I have no need for the service, but others might. George
  11. At least now I understand what you meant. I guess that if there ARE folks saying "We had good times in TWI, why don't you?" that would be rather obnoxious. But don't get mad at others, just because they DID have good times! George
  12. It's not really mandatory. Being able to post the next lyric, quote, or puzzle was considered the PRIZE for guessing one. I guess the thrill is gone. <_< George
  13. I would agree. I notice that all of the game threads have been quiet lately. People are either busy, or just don't want to post a new clue, so they don't answer the present puzzle. George
  14. What the heck does that mean? I, for one had many years of "good times" while in TWI. As pointed out by other posters, this had more to do with "lower-level" believers caring for each other than top-down directives. How does that affect you, in the least? George
  15. Maiden, or "Mathman"'s? ;) George
  16. Yes! Happy Birthday Rascal! Hope to see you again in the fall. George
  17. (Edited to add one more babe) George
  18. This should give it away. "Starfish, I would just like to say that I'm honored, honored to see you taking an interest in my work and I also think you're very pretty and... (sees girls getting scuba gear on) Starfish? Where are you going? Starfish are you going swimming? Where are you going? Where are you going again Starfish? Was it the Chad?" "No the Chad was great." "The Chad was great." "Oh, my God, you're hit!" "No, it's nothing. I mean the squibs hurt a little when they go off but... what happened to my trailer?" "Were you in there while that happened? I mean, look at it!" "Jason, I haven't been completely honest with you. I'm not a bikini waxer." "Bummer. I mean... that was kind of a turn on." "What do you call this?" "Chinese fighting muffin." "That's not funny. A friend of mine took a fighting muffin in the chest; they sent him home in four Ziploc bags." "You're very good. With your hands. I could use someone like you on my staff." "Thanks for the offer but my hands aren't going anywhere near your staff." "How about Thursday?" "Thursday is my FAVORITE day!" "I'll get tickets." "I LOVE tickets!" "What do you know, a guy who speaks Natalie." George
  19. I think that perhaps if you had given your take on these in your first post, the discussion might have taken a different course. With one or two exceptions, I think it's fair to surmise that no one here follows TWI dicta (like the Corps Principles) literally. I doubt, though, that many would take exception with your personal adaptations. George
  20. Cheers to you and Twinky! George
  21. Call it a hunch (or perhaps, in-depth spiritual perception), but I think Imagine has adapted CP4 to be tithing (or other giving) to his (her?) church, not to TWI. George
  22. All right. It was "Sleeping Dogs." First season, Archer and crew find a disabled Klingon ship. Hilarity ensues. The female commander of the ship repays Archer's kindness by trying to take over the Enterprise. He finally acts like a Klingon and gets really bossy. She leaves. Free post! George
  23. All right then, I'll try another. <_< five pics, need names George
  24. I always thought he looks like Peyton Manning: George
