What? You didn't get beaten by unbelievers and thrown out from town to town? George

I can remember the second line "How can people be so cruel?" but I can't remember the title or performer. :( George -
Nooo idea! (Though it may be a werewolf film?) George

I had a BCC removed a few years ago. I've also had some actinic keratoses (pre-cancerous lesions) on my face. The dermatologist removed the latter with liquid nitrogen, but then later gave me a tube of fluorouracil to use on my face to get them all. It actually is chemotherapy, but the effect is that of a nasty skin peel. Anyway, I'm okay now, but one needs to check often. Especially if you grew up like me without much concern about skin exposure. George

Right. "Vengeance Unlimited" was a show starring Michael Madsen as a tough guy whou would help people in trouble if they would a.) pay him a million dollars, or b.) promise to do him a favor down the road. (He would often call in these favors to help a later client.) As is often the case, I was alone in watching the show; it was cancelled after about eight episodes. I agree that Purple Days was close enough. Go, PD! George

Interesting point, Socks. I hadn't thought of the Council of Jerusalem in that context. George

"I didn't know you spoke Klingon." "Oh, you'd be surprised at the things you can learn when you're doing alterations." "I thought you might be tired of fighting holograms." "It would not be a fair match." "I'll go easy on you." "Captain, would you kindly inform this security guard that he does not have to monitor my every move? It makes me feel unwelcome." "Looks like I won, Benjamin. You owe me dinner." "And what is that supposed to mean?" "Captain Sisko bet me that you would thank him for the rescue before you started complaining." "I lost." "You robbed my son of his honor just to get my attention?" "You cannot take away what someone does not have." "What I can't understand is that inexplicable hostility toward me. Maligning Constable Odo was one thing; after all he's a changeling. The Klingons don't know him as well as we do. But relations between the Klingon and Cardassian Empires have never been anything but amicable." "With the exception of the Betreka Nebula incident." "A minor skirmish." "It lasted eighteen years!" "It was ages ago. Perhaps... they've decided they just didn't like me." "Not like you? Impossible." "What do you think?" "It's vile." "I know. It's so bubbly and cloying and happy." "Just like the Federation." "And you know what's really frightening? If you drink enough of it, you begin to like it." "It's insidious!" "Just like the Federation." George -
Headquarters in New Knoxville
GeorgeStGeorge replied to Questionstobeanswered's topic in About The Way
This is a wonderful contrast with the way VP in PFAL lampooned memorized, overworked sermons, preferring instead the preacher who just stood up on Sunday without preparation, because then even the Devil had no idea what was coming! George -

TLB, Since you know the answer, how about posting it and giving a clue to a new one? George -
That's right. What a funny show! The clever way that the various special effects were duplicated on the cheap was delightful. Go, new Papa! George

"Frakkin' skin job!" "Now, one of you has been coming in a little hot lately, a little too hot, a little, um - oh I don't know, he's-burning-up-the-deck-with-his-skids-because-he-just-can't-pull-back-on-the-throttle hot. Now who is this speed demon, my prince?" "Flat Top, sir!" "Flat Top, you got a need for speed, do ya? Just can't wait to get back to the Big G and the loving embrace of your fellow pilots? Or maybe you have a hot date with your right hand?" "Hey, it never gets a headache!" "Tell you what, Flat Top: you come in too hot today and you may have to start using your left. Okay, you've been fun, you've been a great audience, dismissed!" "We're the children of humanity. That makes them our parents in a sense." "True, but parents have to die. It's the only way children can come into their own." George -

Biblic@l Study Centers of Tex@s, which had been aligned with Geer until a couple of years ago, had Mr. Townsend speak at a statewide fellowship. I did not attend, but I understand that his talk was reminiscences of the "good old days" in TWI. George

Yep! My three grandsons are my favorite people in the world. The Countess accepts this, and the fact that she'll be moving THREE MORE PLACES down the list within about six months! Congratulations! George
