  1. I WAS gone for a few days. If you're filled with affection you're too shy to convey, meditate in my direction. Feel your way. George
  2. It's obviously a vampire flick. (Why else would someone be 17 for a long time?) I'll guess "Interview with the Vampire." George
  3. Ooops. I meant "Born," not "Given." George
  4. So, was it Thermodynamics, Statistical Mechanics, Kinetics, or Quantum Mechanics? George
  5. That's Melanie Griffith? My, how she's...grown! George
  6. "Hey, You! Get Off of My Cloud!" The Rolling Stones George
  7. I've been on a business trip for three days. I can translate Latin. "A Child to Us Is Given" (literally "A Boy to Us Is Given"). George
  8. Oh, come on! This is easy! "Adrenaline!" "Let me know if we contact any Romulans." (the Enterprise takes a hit) "I think we just made contact, sir." "Captain, I just wanted you to know I did what I thought was best." "Noted. You should know, however, that there are very few things a Starbase can do that a starship can't." "If I may say, Captain, so I am now quite aware of what a starship can do--with the right man at the helm." "Doctor, the ship's temperature is becoming increasingly cold. I've adjusted the temperature in my quarters to 125 degrees which is at least tolerable, and..." "Well, I can see I'm not gonna make any house calls on you!" "I was wondering if there was something which could lower my sensitivity to cold." "I'm not a magician. Just an old country doctor." "Yes, as I always suspected." "Send a message to Starfleet Command. Code Two." "But..." "CODE TWO!" "I don't know what's causing it. Virus, bacteria or evil spirits, but I'm trying to find out." "I fail to understand why my orders are repeatedly being questioned!" George

"I fail to understand why my orders are repeatedly being questioned!" I'll be incommunicado for the next two days. If you get it, feel free to post a new epeisode. George
  10. Actually, I'll be on a business trip for the next couple of days. I assume from Raf's post that the quote is his, but someone else will have to post another. George
  11. I know it's a Beatles tune, but I can't think of the title. And I'll be away from computers for a couple of days, anyway. George
  12. I agree with most of your post, including the part about forgiveness. I believe, however, that you're prejudicing your post by implying that only those who have forgiven and continue on in a Christian life are "successfully moving on." I'm sure that the atheists and agnostics here feel strongly that they have "successfully moved on." Ditto those Christians who continue to rail against the evils of TWI. George

    Cheap Gas

There's quite a spread of prices for regular here. Some places still charge over $1.60, but I saw the first one today below $1.40. Merry Christmas! George
  14. Yes, Steve!! "Grace Under Fire." You're up. George
  15. Must be. Of course, America did it first. George
  16. This is a translation. In 1815, M. Charles Francois-Bienvenu Myriel was Bishop of D--. He was a man of 75, and had occupied the bishopric of D-- since 1806. Although it in no manner concerns, even in the remotest degree, what we have to relate, it may not be useless, were it only for the sake of exactness in all things, to notice here the reports and gossip which had arisen on his account from the time of his arrival in the diocese. George
  17. Go ahead and answer it, Raf. I don't think youve posted one in a while. George
  18. These quotes will make it more obvious. "Doctor, the ship's temperature is becoming increasingly cold. I've adjusted the temperature in my quarters to 125 degrees which is at least tolerable, and..." "Well, I can see I'm not gonna make any house calls on you!" "I was wondering if there was something which could lower my sensitivity to cold." "I'm not a magician. Just an old country doctor." "Yes, as I always suspected."
