  1. Yes. It's from his first Inaugural Address. George
  2. Interestingly, I remember an AC (or AC Special) at HQ where there was a TREMENDOUS deluge. People were condemning themselves, because "if they were believing rightly, it wouldn't have rained." LCM said, "Oh, yeah? What about Noah? It's not about AVOIDING rain but believing to be PREPARED for it." He then commended everyone for their attention to detail, so that no one was really inconvenienced by the weather. LCM -- an island of sanity in a sea of depression. George
  3. I hadn't even thought about the moderators being "real GS posters." I think it's reasonable for moderators to have "dual identities," so to speak, although I think it would be good if there were a rule prohibiting a moderator from "moderating" a thread he/she posts on in the other identity. Otherwise, there would be a conflict of interest, IMHO. George
  4. "Casino Royale" (the original one)? George
  5. Frankly, there could be some positive aspects of "WayBrain," which WD and Oldies seem to have forgotten. In my experience, the vast majority of TWI followers had an earnest desire to serve God and help people. This may not have been the mindset of some leaders, but I think it also qualifies as "WayBrain." "Someone gave me a jack, I think you need one, and I want to help you with it." George
  6. "Since when has it been treasonous to act in the best interests of the Empire?" "Captain, you're just in time for happy hour." "Do I look happy?" George
  7. Interesting guess! You only missed it by 1. George
  8. I try to pick films or TV shows that will allow me to use hotties as clues. Incidentally, the woman I used before Loni Anderson was Lana Turner. Yes, it's Babylon 5. You're up! George
  9. Slang terms are words, and every word was made up by someone at some time, so there's nothing wrong with the term Waybrain as a shorthand for the mindset of people involved in the Way. If you think that there is a specific mindset associated with n*gg*rs, J*ws, or the P*lish, then feel free to make up those terms. George
  10. How about this one: Theres this girl thats been on my mind, all the time George
  11. I don't remember the exact reason for the fight. I think the king wanted Tasha for his harem. Anyway, Tasha and the princess fought with poisoned gloves. I think that Tasha actually killed her, so that she was no longer officially married, making the king no longer the possessor of her wealth. Dr. Crusher brought her back to life, of course. George
  12. Well, thanks, but I just can't seem to get away from describing the actual plot, albeit in clouded terms. Your initial description of "The Wizard of Oz" was far more clever, because the killings in a foreign land were really incidental to the real plot. George
  13. You need the actress' name. I can tell you're not a male between the ages of 40 and 55! George
  14. Actually, I kind of enjoyed the movie; but I agree that the TV show was better. Steve!, you're up! George
  15. "I now reiterate these sentiments; and in doing so, I only press upon the public attention the most conclusive evidence of which the case is susceptible, that the property, peace and security of no section are to be in any wise endangered by the now incoming Administration. I add too, that all the protection which, consistently with the Constitution and the laws, can be given, will be cheerfully given to all the States when lawfully demanded, for whatever cause -- as cheerfully to one section as to another." George
  16. Is this the episode where Tasha has to fight a battle to the death with some alien princess (the result eventually being that the princess deposes the king)? George
  17. No major damage from Ike (see the prayer thread). Thanks for the concern. Mark Twain? George
  18. Don't say it three times! ;) You're up! George
  19. You can't see the FIRST pic? It's an infant. George
  20. You left out that little detail. Of course, I was "lip-locking" much later in life, anyway. George
  21. Yep! HALLE + WOOD + LAND You're up! George
  22. Thanks, Steve!. I actually found an easier way. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. Click the Programs tab. Click the Reset Web Settings button. Now everything opens with IE again. George
  23. Obviously an early NG episode. I'll guess "Encounter at Farpoint." George
  24. I guess it just depends on how old you and your girlfriend were. Since you're 55 (according to your profile), 1970-1975 would have put you at 17-22. George
