  1. I can't tell you a thing about anything spurtchul, but I know Fred and Kit are there and they're sweet as pie. Really nice folks. My impression of Reno (downtown anyways) is that it is suffering a little from urban blight. (I've heard some of the neighboring Nevadians refer to it as "Drano"). The outskirts of town are wonderful though. Great weather, beautiful scenery, and lots of wide open spaces. geo.
  2. I talked to Hope, she told me it was her anniversary, funny, it seems 21 yrs is a lifetime and it IS for some.... Joe married them, the ONLY guy she would even consider to give them their vows. And they have stayed together thru thick and thin (no names mentioned here) I think they are wonderful and the Teddy Roosevelt work applies here....   3. Gee Raf your gonna start a riot in here!! The mind police are gonna get ya. If we do PFAL--lets also do the other BS we bought, after PFAL lets play with the Intermediate Class (or whatever they call it) and on to the Adv Class. Poor mind police will be calling their local doc's for meds. it could be fun. Hey IF you take the class enough times, and IF you had questions....you wouldn't doubt the "Word" that was given to Heir Doc, you would just believe it w/out question, right???? (as I walk, eyes wide open in the direction of the big top, saying, "I do not doubt, I do not doubt...." lol suz

Me and Z talked on the phone, he is having TODAY the 3rd off and is going to play, how sweet it is, to have a birthday, to get the next day off AND to celebrate by drinking champagne with me and Psalmie! what friends you have!   7. thanks 7390! Talked to Tim in GA and Mary in WI, was a joy to reunite with them. Talked to mom in IN also, she is wonderful too! anyway how sweet to speak to them. Mary is still in but talked to me!! She still sounds as sweet as ever. suz
  8. What was I doing 24 yrs ago today you ask? November 23, 1978- Let me say, it's kind of a funny story, not your typical Thanksgiving day story at all. I lived in So Cal (Reseda) with my best friend Jewel, her son Kelly who was 12, and my son Jason who was 6. I was seperated from the then husband and ready to give birth. A friend (from WA)came to visit and he left our house about midnight. Sure enough I went into labor. Normally this would not have been much of a problem but..... It was Thanksgiving day. Jewel was the branch leader and I was hosting a house of 12 guests for dinner!!!(she was suppossed to go to Randy & Desere' Feeses for a corpse dinner). Realizing I was responsible for the dinner I decided to 1)take a shower 2)stuff the turkey and get it cooking 3)do whatever else I could for the dinner knowing I probably wouldn't be able to help. I awoke Jewel telling her our plans were on hold but not to worry cause everything else was in place. I went to my room and started the breathing, birthing process. I knew this wasn't going to be a slam dunk so I called the midwife and told her that one bird was in the oven and the other was ready to come out. Oh did I forget to mention that this was going to be a home birth, midwife, etc??? details details Anyway the midwife showed up early and checked me and sure enough this was not going to be that quick, good enough for Jewel to NOT to have to do her corpse dinner thing, so she called and thankfully canceled. Well since she wasn't going to be at Randy's they choose to come to the birth!! Actually Randy turned out to be a wonderful coach, holding my hand and helping me breathe and calming me. My coach was suppossed to be Jewel but she forgot to mention she gets freaked out in those type situations. What about dinner you ask?? Well we called everyone who was suppossed to be there at 2pm and told them to come at 6pm instead. Marvin and Amy came over early and helped get the whole dinner going while my coaches helped me birth an 8lb boy, my Daniel Joseph. The turkey came OUT of the oven with a houseful of folks there to greet him into the world. I had him about 2:30pm I believe, and dinner was still at 6pm and boy was I hungry! Marvin, an old farmer, was right there helping the new heifer while his lovely wife Amy fed the momma cow. Dinner never tasted so good (we played pass the baby)and everyone was pretty excited to hold a child only hours old. There was still at least 12 people there, Randy and Desiree' went home and it was a day to remember. Never had another Thanksgiving like that, thankfully. Almost did Christmas though, my last child's birthday is Dec 23rd....whole nother story there. Suz

  12. We were spared the stupid movie at IC. I was in rez there 80,81 82-83. I don't remember the lovely lady Rochelle being at IC but there were lots of dental folks there that were not a part of the corpse training. I did know it was a suicide. I always thought Al was so brave taking the info like he did. I was also in WI when another suicide took place. It was unbelievable to me more than the suicide that twi would "blame the victim" and say something like, "a complication with meds" caused the suicide (a mother, wife, a leader). Knowing about more suicides from those, "living the more abundant life" is quite scary. I wonder how many others were swept under the carpet. Must have been "their believing"..... Suz PS Sam and Billie Graham were also in that truck that got in an accident. Billie was in a cast for a broken leg for months. (they are still in today ) Also on that same lead "experience" I remember a woman who almost lost her eye because of a limb that poked it. I don't know how people continued to put up with the lead BS and not sue! We got reproved when we got home for those type accidents!!! HOW LONG MUST THIS GO ON??? GET OUT NOW BEFORE TWI FINDS YET ANOTHER LEAD TYPE EXPERIENCE
  13. Well Linda dear I see you haven't slipped by.... that Kit is a slick one, she knows EVEN tho you might TRY to pretend you aren't having a birthday...... BUT even tho you are older, its OK. You have SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR. A celebrated birthday OUT of twi-God is Good. and think of how many years you have LEFT to say you are out, you can think on your own, you can live YOUR life as YOU want to. besides 30 isn't so bad so lets belly up to the bar, I'm buying.
