  1. So I get an email yesterday from M#rk Fr&*^z*k, who was (is?) one of Barnards right hand men.....

While there is zero possibility that I'll be giving any money, I am considering how to handle this. I will call M2rk, out of respect to past friendship. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to hit me up, and the tactics used. I would love to report that he was just missing me and wanted to catch up, but I haven't been that naive for years. Part of me wants to get in his face and demand to know what the F he's doing, especially concerning his daughter, but my head really hurts after I bang it against a brick wall. We'll see-

I do hope you will give him the courtesy of a call. The timing is crazily suspicious and it would be fascinating to hear what is so urgent that he wants you to call him after all these years ;)

  2. The decreased traffic on this site is, in my opinion, strong evidence that many people who have been told over the years to get a life have done so.

I concur with this, Raf. In addition, the enormous growth of Facebook (especially, but other social media too) has grabbed many who, after all these years actually now have much more in common with non-TWI people than they do ex-TWIts. On Facebook they can still connect with old friends from 30-40 years ago, and at the same time keep up with those we see and play with in our "after" life today.

As for bringing back Pol-attacks...NEVER! (please). A few thoughts about it from me:

1- There were virtually no views changed by anyone when we had it. It was a bunch of soap-boxing. Myself included.

2- The rhetoric was nauseating (such as Allan's two recent attempts to bring it back). That in itself may be a trait of politics today but the problem in a forum like GSC is it did not stay in the Politics forum. The disgust posters had with other posters in that arena often carried over to non-political forums. I believe that is why I know of no ex-TWI site which puts up with more than a very occasional bit of political banter. It tends to distract from what we have in common.

3- There are numerous places on the internet dedicated almost exclusively to those of us who are political junkies. I enjoy them. Conservatives troll Huffpost and MSNBC sites and progressives troll Fox, Breitbart and Infowars. Nothing is accomplished, but if you want to get spicy those are places you can go and give it a whirl.

4- Rather than soapbox here, if we are serious about our political views, it is a much better use of our time to actually become involved in campaigns or our party's work, or run for office ourself rather than babble here to closed ears. A few GSC people have done just that.

It is just not worth it here, not needed here, and will not happen here.

  3. Well Twinky, I certainly have not checked the Wierwille family tree, and what I will say in no way should be taken as verifying it.

I have documented my own German side family tree to the mid 1500s in eastern Germany and my grandfather documented my Scot/English side to 1324. It is not inconceivable to me that the Wierwille tree could go back that far. Of course I don't know if they did the work to do so.

The Huguenots lost a series of wars around 1680 (I believe), and it was either mandated they become Catholic, die, or get the heck out. Many got out, and fled to Protestant areas of Europe including several parts of Germany. There have been several large scale emigrations of Germans to America due to religious persecutions, wars or economic strife. My own lineage included. If they knew when the Wierwille family came to America, or even where in Germany they had fled to from France the history could be traced with some work. HOWEVER!...you are right his bloodline is the most meaningless bloodline to a Christian that there ever could be.

  4. Bringing this back to the topivc of Victor Arden Barnard's extradition.

According to the article Twinky posted, his attorney said

"I don't know if, as a matter of policy, the U.S. government would agree to conditionally extradite someone," Halberg said. "In a practical sense, it would be a life sentence anyway."

It is my understanding that the extradition treaty between the US and Brazil already includes the condition that prisoners will not be able to face longer terms in the US than they would face in the Brazil had they committed those crimes in Brazil. Barnard's Brazilian attorney stated that fact back when he was arrested a year ago. I doubt that the US would balk at agreeing to the condition, either as a matter of principle of the treaty we have with Brazil, or in considering the age of criminal.

  5. an excellent addition to the Greasespot! Welcome! I am liking your attitude so far. It has been awhile since we have had mucik in the way of recently involved people here. I think Longhunter was the last one, and most of us know very little about the status of TWI at this point.

It will be wonderful as you have the time, to update us on things like how many people are now regularly active in TWI in the USA? Worldwide? What is there in international outreach? Where?

Did Rosalie and Donna ever get married? (just joking)

Seriously, welcome to GSC, pull up a bar stool and do not feel you can only drink the coffee. I understand a liquor license has been applied for.

  6. Did wierwille really think that his pfal class would sustain and animate our attention and loyalty

    for the next 60 years?

It flubbergusts me how often I see people on Facebook who after 45 years still are enamored with PFAL. The Lord may hope that sometime in the next 15 years they will see it for what it really was.

  7. ...(snipped)...

If you have "credentials", you know: years in "rez", were in the corp, are a corp grad, twi ordained, vpw endowed with a gift ministery/s or any combination of that list you think you have "seniority/carte blanche" on GSC and the rest of us are petty minnions.

you are the one who consistently describes yourself as "Hey, I am just ignorant, non-corp folk seeking information"

Have you always had such low self esteem or is it a new development in your life?

You stink of hypochrisy: you act like elletists, just like you were back in twi; you use GSC to dis twi but then vaunt your twi credentials to gain clout on GSC.

aside from all the misspellings in there, your intent was clear. You don't much care for the answers you get here do you? Tough petunias

You have lost credibility and worse, if this is an "anti" twi site, you have provided twi with all the ammo it needs to show that GSC is a bunch of bickering, post twi heriticks who could not make it in twi.

So you say, but saying it does not make it true. Most of those you are addressing could, or did make it in TWI, but finally came to realize that the emperor there wore no clothes (in some cases literally) and moved on with their life, serving God's purpose in new ways. They chose not to "make it" in TWI any longer because TWI was a dung pit of lies and falsehoods and they wanted no part of it when they realized this.

Sheesh - look what egos from a bunch of old burned out folks can accomplish.

uhuh those men and women HAVE accomplished a lot both during and post TWI. What have you done?

  8. DWBH, if DF was 5th corp then why in the late fall of 1975 when he "visited" us (his interim corp year) were we informed (by the chain of command) that he was an "evangelist"?

one does not need to be ordained to have a recognized gift ministry. We were all told he was TWI's greatest evangelist. In my case I heard it in 1972 when he was first introduced to me by T0mmy Cr@bb. So what?

By the way, since I know DWBH personally perhaps you will take my word for the fact that he was in the Corpse. If you had read the threads about ordination somebody linked in a previous post on this thread it would be rather obvious. Why would you question it?

  9. Seth, it is not unusual these days for there to be no obit in newspapers. Many papers charge for them, and if most the friends and relatives are out of town it often is decided to bother with it. With email and social sites, word gets to those who need to know better that way.

    RIP Jim Martin.

  10. How long has Bernard been hiding, or running?

Well Krys, the actual charges were not formally filed until April 2014, and he has been on the run since before that. The investigation started in 2009 as I recall, and he has been hiding since then. Brazil says he first came there in 2010, (which is true) but American authorities are pretty sure he has been in Washington State at times in since then. So the answer to your question is twofold, He has been hiding for 6 years and running since at least April of 2014.

Yes Twinky I saw Jeff's name (tips hat) It was Jeff who first started talking here a number of years ago about this asshat. I wonder if Granddaughter might stop back in here too sometime.

  11. The Brazilian Court has already signed the extradition for Barnard. That was done within 24 hours of the arrest. It may still be a couple of weeks before he he brought back here.

The lady arrested with him was one of the maidens when she lived here in the US. She is Brazilian, and was charged with aiding a fugitive by the police in Brazil and was released on bond. Her charges are in Brazil, not here, therefore she will not be extradited.
