Isn't that what the umpires are afraid of and why they are against the initiation of instant replay? One can't really understand the term "trading deadline" without the addition of an '*' (asterisk). With the asterisk representing the fine print, like "trading deadline before players would have to clear waivers." But there's probably more fine print to it than just that. Speaking of which, tonight Jake Peavy faced off against Dan Haren. Both Cy Young winners and potential candidates this year (if not for Webb having nearly already run away with it). Conventional wisdom = a low scoring pitchers' duel. Final score: AZ 8, SD 6. Haren gets the win, Peavy the loss. It was not the kind of game anyone expected... but I'll take it.

Also, AVG anti-virus (a free program) also checks all links that come up on each page of a google search. It will tell you if there is any threat on the linked page.

Indeed, each piece of equipment I use for cardio has a heart rate monitor... I am aware of those issues. I've also seen people using that Polar chest strap, so I know what you're talking about... great pics... I have the before and after but don't have a way to convert them to a .pdf... I do have them posted on the other website...

And good (great) for you too!!! I'll probably get to go to cardiac rehab, but the exercise habits the same KT folks (kinesiotherapy) showed me actually got me started 3 or so years ago... so, I'm in amazingly good shape fitness wise, for someone who just had a myocardial infarction... if I didn't already know what to do and how much I could take, I'd feel the very same things that you did. You're going to be fine!

I had a GREAT workout. 34 minutes of aerobic/cardio and a lighter than I previously had been doing weight lifting session. My breathing was SOOOOOOOOOOO much easier than before and recovery after the workout SOOOOOOO much quicker! I am PSYCHED. :)

I've been cleared to go back to the gym (to resume exercising)!!!

Two chances... and Slim's out of town...

Nippert couldn't get it together as a Dback. So, he was either released or traded, I forget which. I doubt he'll ever really be very good in MLB. He's probably a good kid, and IIRC did well in AAA... but never figured it out in Phoenix.

Hall of Fame first year voting...

As long as Webb stays on track, I can't imagine anyone catching him. 18-4 is pretty doggone good. I think in his best year he got 18. He should be able to make it to 23... maybe more.

I bet you knew the name of the fifth one very well anyway... For others... they are Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson and Christy Mathewson. Cy Young got in the second year, according to Sutton and Matt Williams. I'm not sure when Hornsby got in.

I can't imagine the Yankees would allow anyone to wear number 3 anymore... in other words, I figure they must have retired the Babe's number. For me, to honor Ruth this way might harken us all back to a time when steroids weren't an issue... and for all the lore and legend that surrounds him even now, his role in one of the earlier times when the public needed to be brought back after a big scandal hasn't been talked about. Changing the subject, an aflac trivia question during the Saturday Dbacks game -- name the first FIVE players elected to the HoF, the first year. Can you (without looking them up)? I actually surprised myself by rattling them off without realizing I knew... 3 position players, 2 pitchers... they are all familiar names for lifelong baseball fans.

Thanks Steveo... I've been getting info from dieticians/nutritionists for a couple of years. Indeed, I already recognize the virtue of your insights on dietary matters... Indeed, I gave up (most) beef when my brother died about 16 years ago... he was an avid steak lover. His high blood levels of iron contributed to his heart disease. Of course, I stay away from most of that stuff you suggested and do prefer chicken and turkey... use skim milk and egg beaters... etc. Thanks for your insight. I agree. :) and wish you a long, healthy and prosperous life.

On the contrary, Doc... I was doing what I was supposed to be doing and it WORKED. I had the heart attack (primarily) because of one risk factor that I have NO control over -- family history. The controllables are responsible for the fact that there was no damage (or minimal at most) to the heart and that I had no chest pain or any other significant symptoms. The fact that I had been working out and then paid attention to the warning signals is -- along with the wonderful doctors and nurses and current medical technology -- is the HOW and WHY I did NOT die. I would respect your work as a dentist, but it appears you took a lesson from that republican doctor/senator (now no longer in office) that thought he could diagnose Terry Schiavo without examining her. I don't accept your diagnosis, thank you. Russert didn't heed the warning signs. Russert also lived a high stress life. I did heed the warning and have forsaken high stress lifestyles (long ago). and I already had lost 90 lbs...

Most definitely. My dad had bypass surgery when he was my age (53) and then died at 66 from heart disease. I also had a younger brother and sister who have each already passed away having succumbed to heart disease. That's why I always knew this was inevitable for me. And it's one of the reasons I worked out regularly. That exercise routine having probably been the single most important factor that made this event nearly without either symptoms or actual damage to the heart. But there was no question from the EKG and the enzyme (tropinin) levels that I had a genuine myocardial infarction.

I don't know about EVERY call... but I can see it being expanded to cover MORE calls (than just HRs) once they get "comfortable" with it.

Well, the VERDICT is in... and it's not necessarily an editorial assessment of the Osteens' ministry, but the jury says there was NO ASSAULT. Osteen verdict
