1. Well I can name the first part because IT WAS DONE ON PAGE 25! HA HA HA HA!! IT'S NOT CHEATING TO READ THROUGH OLD THREADS! HA HA HA HA! :biglaugh:/>:biglaugh:/>:biglaugh:/>

I'm amused easily I know. So the old show was The Bob Newhart show and the show where is is waking up with his wife from the Bob Newhart show is Newhart. But I'm confused as to the second part of your question. "If you can do so with the newer show give the same info" Well, I'm not sure what that means, but you made it sound like it was not mandatory to do so?

  2. OH MY GOSH Broken Arrow! I know EXACTLY what you mean, lol. And I agree there is some good contemporary, it's not all crap. But I remember a church I went to when they were finally singing an old Hymm, then they turned it into some screaming rock song that NOBODY could sing along too! LOL! And I love that quote too. Obviously a lot of us "old" timers (who are not that old!) feel that way!

  3. All right. The title of the French film was "Le Grand Blond avec Une Chaussure Noire." What was the American film? (Note: it is NOT a direct translation of the French.)

    George

The big blonde...blah blah blah. I would guess Legally Blonde but I don't think hanks was in that.

  4. I'm thinking the former president HAS to be Reagan. 20 mule team, I remember that term.
edited to say I looked up what 20 mule team was. And that's not cheating! I just had to know.
5. OH my gosh, I remember as a little girl we used to sing this and do the hand slaps with each other. I didn't know it was a recorded song, lol. I thought it was a childhood sort of made up thing like Ring-Around-the-rosie. Or Lizzie Borden took an axe. lol. This is my first Mother's Day without my mama. But I remind myself that NONE of us have long to live, and I will see her again soon enough. And it really is true.

  6. The "almost live" part rings a bell. I keep wanting to say "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In," but that was filmed in Burbank.

    George

Oh that's a good guess! That would have been a great TV show to pick!

    Okay, I'll give another clue.

"From Hollywood, almost live, it's....(name of the show) (Previous clue)

    NEW CLUE

This was the ending theme song. And believe me, you are familiar with this somewhere in the back recesses of your brain, associated with THIS SHOW! Cheesy and Fun! The show I mean, although the tune fit well with it.

  7. waysider: LOL! How right you are...smile.gif

I hear you, Broken Arrow. And you are right about what you said, there will always be something. I also notice that the few times I go to church, they are always trying to make it "youth" friendly, modern, whatever, and personally, it really bugs me. I DESPISE the generic, bland pop music they play in churches, for one thing. Or the LOUD ROCK & ROLL they play. I went to a Joyce Meyer thingie in 2007 with Hillsong there, and I almost had to leave because they almost blasted my freaking eardrums off. It was as loud as an old Billy Idol concert. I kid you not.

I miss the old hymns and gospels. And IMO, (and I'll probably pi$ some people off saying this) For the most part, Christian music sucks. Again, in my opinion. I love that cartoon where Hank Hill says, "Can't you see you're not making Christianity better? You're just making rock and roll worse! "

Coming back to apologize for derailing the thread. :blush:/>

  8. The Super Dave Osbourne Show

Bean: lol. I had to look up to see whether or not that was a real show. :biglaugh:/> Remember, I said that everyone in the free world has seen this show at LEAST once! Or at least a part of it. Or at least has heard of it.....

  9. hiway29, thanks for the answer! LOL!

WW: I'm glad you didn't know it either, though I'm a bit surprised, ;)

BUT OKAY, I WANT TO GO! Give me an hour to think of a show though...I'm putting on my thinking cap right now, so I'll take the free post!

  10. Thanks Galen, I'm watching it now. I know what you mean about the photos of strangers. That's how the Singles Camp was. I mean, some of us tried to keep in touch, this was before the facebook days, but it's not the same when you live 1000 miles away from each other, you know? But thanks bunches for the video. So THIS is the trip I missed!! This is great, lol.

  11. Hey Galen, that's a great story. I see your point about the lighting, and not being in any of the footage. I would LOVE a youtube link, if you could provide one. Thanks for the advice on getting somebody to take a pic of me at all the sites. I honestly had not thought about that. But yeah, sounds like you had an interesting time! I actually was at the singles camp that CES ran in the Smokey Mountains in May of 2000, and I know they were talking about the upcoming trip to Israel, and I was really jealous. Just like you, I'm finally getting what I want, 14 years later, lol. I bet you didn't ever think you were going to have to wait 13 years to see the footage of the trip!

  12. I don't know Broken Arrow. People come and go in other churches too I'm sure. But the wayfers are such a cliquish little group, it's not like they fit in well with the mainstream communities. I mean, in their normal everyday jobs they might, but if they invited somebody over for "fellowship" most people who have never been exposed to them feel very uncomfortable. Especially when the mog starts calling people by name for the manifestations. I've noticed that when the kids who grow up there get married, it's quite likely another child of a wayfer-offshooter.

In fact one thing ( out of a zillion) that sticks out in my mind was when the mog of Naperville told somebody who told me, (back in the 90s) that he was concerned with the "kids" in the group, cause when they grew up and went to college or whatever, would they come back to naperville? I was like, huh? That's as far as this group's vision extends? The flat earth wayfer society of naperville? The world ends at that point? sheesh.
