  1. On another note, the website is infinitely better than the old one. http://web.archive.org/web/20070711224814/http://www.theway.org/ They are so retarded to not have a contact us page. I seem to remember the logic on that is it takes a little effort to send a handwritten letter. Sort of a pseudo-screening process of sorts.
  2. Biblical research has become taking assigned teaching topics from teachers and comparing it to proven ministry research in ministry publications.
  3. I think they quit selling PFAL a long time ago. They were giving it away not too long ago. To "the household" of course.
  4. That sort of thing is kind of foolish. Get ministered to, or whatever you wanna call, it and get yourself checked out to be sure all is fine. That law of believing stuff of get your believing up is very dangerous to people when applied to on going health situations. To me it would seem common sense to follow up with physicians as needed. For all we know healings in the bible had physician follow up at times. One could almost infer this where the woman with the issue of blood had spent all she had with doctors and they couldn't do anything for her. She was healed. But perhaps she followed up with her Dr.s afterwards. Maybe she didn't. Point is you could make an argument either way.
  5. No, retirement was really sarcastic. She never will give up control. The actions she has taken to account for eventuality of her not being able to do many things because of age is to promote many yes ma'ams. Then set her control into a board/officer structure, eventually when she can no longer do the job. All efforts to make sure the preservation society continues.
  6. Well I have thought long and hard on this one. Just how in the hell did I get sucked into the cult that is The Way International? It started with friends witnessing to me. I went to my first fellowship. Not having a knowledge of the bible, I began to learn of God and the Lord Jesus. it's during this time that the bait is dangled in front of a person. Without fail someone will endeavor to get you signed up for the class. If anyone, I mean anyone, attends fellowship a concerted effort will be made to pressure them into taking The Way of Abundance and Power. Is this what it means to freely receive, freely give? In the early stages is where you begin to get hit with notions that if you REALLY want to learn more about God then you will want to sign up for this class, or attend this event, etc. Now, when I was being exposed to these ideas I was very vulnerable. I had many issues that I needed help with, drug abuse was at the top of the list. I can't deny what God delivered me from during that time. I was deep in prayer and spent a lot of time reading the bible. It was God and he saved my life. Now here's where the problem comes in. For me the hook was being set at this point. There was a concerted effort by those in my fellowship to convince me that it was because of The Way International, and the word they taught, that I had many positive changes happening in my life. That is pure crap. They take credit for what God, and the lord Jesus are able to do for a person. Then they pressure a person to sell themselves out to the ministry that taught them the word. A Christian is supposed to make Jesus lord, not an organization. Problem is, being somewhat vulnerable at the time I believed the lies. And it set the stage for many subsequent, more damaging lies to follow. Also, during this time is where I was expected to start giving my money to them. If I really wanted God's blessings I needed to give 10% of my paycheck at a minimum. Of course I wouldn't want to be minimum minded. If I REALLY wanted abundant spiritual blessings above the physical, were talking loads of spiritual knowledge here, then I needed to faithfully give above 10%. And, if I wanted to live a life where God's power flowed freely in my life, where things would be there for me before I even asked then plurality giving was the pinnacle. Tithe, abundant sharing, plurality giving. Simple equation. tithe = mandatory 10%, the basic physical needs would flow freely for me. Abundant sharing = give as much above 10% as you deem necessary, this is where deep spiritual understanding would open up to me. Plurality giving = we are getting lots of your hard earned money and now we want to run branch meetings and classes in your house. Oh, if you have extra stuff you need to give it to the fellowship. How creepy. Each step builds on the previous. So at the level of plurality giving I was giving 15% to 20% of my net paycheck and any extra stuff I was "blessed" to give to those in my area. By the time I finished my first foundational class I had been convinced that if I really wanted to know God, then I needed the intermediate class. Of course by that time the hook was set and I had no idea that I should spit it out. It's during the intermediate class that they really endeavor to mold a person into a disciple. They call it being a disciple of the lord Jesus Christ. Yet, at this point I was really being molded into a disciple of the way international. During this process I was indoctrinated with lies such as "You commit yourself to the ministry that taught you the word". After the intermediate class there is the advanced class. I was fed the same commitment crap and also told that I would be fully instructed in all nine manifestations. That advanced class was the biggest load of disjointed garbage I was ever exposed too. I've had it multiple times and even took exams on it in-residence. I know the material well and it only serves to add confusion and legalism to topics that could be simply taught. And no I did not know how to operate this power that I was promised. However, I was very confused on many topics and was told to just walk and in time I would have experiential knowledge of what I had conceptually learned. et al oida / ginosko. After the advanced class a person is expected, and I mean EXPECTED, to support the ministry, to market the ministry, to give as much as they can to the ministry, to be the ones spending their time going door to door and hanging out in stores to solicit others to come to fellowship. A lot of subtle and not so subtle expectations are made on the advanced class grads. They are even taught to marry each other. Also, to not marry someone until they have at least had the advanced class because marriage if for the faithful. Before I write a book. I will stop here. The Way of Abundance and Power is a series of classes by The Way International to indoctrinate people in bondage to a cult that is The Way International. TWI baits their hook with God's goodness with a slight glimpse of Jesus Christ. In the end I was discipled to The Way International, ensconced in bondage, and powerless all the while calling myself powerful. I had no real relationship with God or the lord because I had allowed that to be hi-jacked by the ministry that taught me the word. TWI places themselves in the position that, biblically, Jesus Christ holds. The added layer upon layer (that I accepted) of indoctrination that told me how to live, who to marry, what to do with my time and money, and other grievous ideals. The Way International systematically extracted everything out of me they could. Thankfully I have a new life now. I only hope this can serve as a warning to others.
  7. I'm not sure it is either, although reconciliation is. It does emphasize a point long forgotten in all the flesh perfecting that has taken over TWI since Lord Craig was installed. God and the Lord Jesus never care how goofy some of us are/were - they loved and healed. They are still willing to do the same. No doubt that there are some hoakie things that some have fabricated or embellished. I have talked to way too many people with first had accounts of being involved in miracles/healings etc. I believe many of the accounts. The post above about the way corps dogging her is symptomatic of what happened. Craig's legalism and him purging many, many good people left the way corps leaving the ranks full of mini-craigs. I think the end result is all too clear.
  8. They took all taxes out of my check as required.
  9. The law of believing teachings do nothing more than bind people in a cycle of will worship that results in deep seated self condemnation. I know because I am still dealing with the effects.
  10. Harve Platig was not a yes man. He was known to speak his mind and disagree with Rozilla. He is a branch coordinator in florida now. Michael Fort will not do anything for the ministry beyond the branch level. I understand he doesn't like the example RosaLIE made of him during a corps meeting in the late 90s. He was offered the Limb of Kentucky a couple years ago and refused. Howard is still on grounds and will be till his last breath. He is a very over rated and opinionated man. He participates in all the director group meetings but really doesn't have too much authority around there any more.
  11. My God, is that horrible or what. That is just evil. Everyone is waiting for the green light. The damn green light is in the bible already.
  12. Read below. There are those who are interested so I started the thread. Not this year. Roger was demoted, Vince is no longer a VP but is a limb coordinator. But Vince is on the BOD.
  13. I understand that healings were commonplace in the 70 and 80. I am inspired to read some of the posts above because I believe their account. I believe that God and Jesus do heal and that those that believe on Jesus can do the same works he did and greater works. I believe the bible, just not the TWI version. Personally, I think all the martindale legalism killed it. HQ is full of sick people now. You would be hard pressed to find healings and miracles. Not that they don't happen. God is God and he is into healing his people. But the legalism and lack of love has made this type of thing virtually non-existent. Plus, there are those who would imply that if you are sick then you need to get your believing up because the word says you are already healed. You just need to keep on confessing the sickness away. I have not known one person to get healed by their own efforts such as I describe. I have known several sick people who expressed extreme disappointment and self-condemnation because they had been confessing their healing for a long time and were still diseased. Nope, they count it a great move of God when they find the right doctor and it's all about what God has given us in medicine and how he has even given us programs to participate in so we can stay debt free. You see, wages for working on staff are so low that you can still qualify for medicaid and other insurance for the poor. You have something big, you run your insurance out, enroll in medicaid, etc. then thank God for all he has done for you. Really, it's a sad state of affairs and way short of what the bible says healings and miracles really are and how they are administered.
  14. I had heard a couple years ago the the BOD at the time was planning to split the BOD reponsibilities, which is a double banger of officers and board members, into a officers and directors. From what I was told this was a big topic during leaders meetings. I was told you would have Pres, VP and Sec. Tres and a few others as officers that would handle the management of the ministry and there would be a seperate board of directors. The president would also be a board member. The board would set ministry policy, devise the teaching calender, ministry theme, etc. Also, the board members would not have to live at HQ and I do not think it would be a full time gig. I did a little head scratching. First, because find one 501 c3 that doesn't have this in place.....ya....The Way International. Maybe there are other exceptions I just haven't found them. These people really need to get out of the cornfields because it's like saying "We are planning to start running this company like everyone else does". But what really stood out to me was this. I remember RosaLIE stating some years ago that the BOD would be 3 to 5 year assignments. She has been pres for nearly nine years and on the BOT before that as VP from 96 to 2000. I am guessing that she is about 69. So that's how she is planning to retire. She will still have total control of the place, but will stop all the things she doesn't want too. I think she just loves the STS, themes, and all things publication related. I bet they start this next year. From wikipedia. Board of Directors * Rosalie F. Rivenbark, Chairman of the Board * Jean-Yves De Lisle * Robert McCulloch * Vince McFadden * John Rupp Officers * Rosalie F. Rivenbark, President * John Rupp, Vice President * Jean-Yves De Lisle, Secretary Treasurer * Gary Fredrick, Chief Financial Officer * Donna Martindale, Chief Administrative Officer * Rico Magnelli, Junior Officer * Brian Moynihan, Junior Officer See how they are putting this into place? It's so rosalie. Let's move at the speed of glacier and slowly set this into gear. I can say that she has hand selected a pretty good group of "yes ma'ams" to lead us further into the promised land of the prevailing retirement plan. I hope she gets some time to play Parcheesi.
  15. I am working real hard on forgiveness. I have to learn how to cancel the debt against those who wronged me. Whether or not they do that with me is beyond my control and therefore not worth trying to rectify. When I left those I talked to on the way out the door made sure I that I "knew where they were if I needed them". So will I ever go back looking to make amends? no. Will they ever seek me to rebuild the bridge? HIGHLY unlikely. I think your question answers itself.
  16. If we follow that logic, then Hot for Teacher from Van Halen was devil spirits trying to help LCM lure girls onto the motor coach.
  17. How deluded and arrogant does a group of people (TWI - BOD headed by Rozilla) have to be to isolate themselves in the cornfields of north west Ohio (while spending most of their time exclusively with their own in meetings in the Chalet Annex) to think they can pontificate amongst themselves and be able to pin point what God's people need to learn next. Not that most of the group do much more than say "yes ma'am".The more I think about it it just blows my mind. I have the cure though - I'm gonna stop thinking about it..lol On another note, while writing this thread I figured out what's worse than being a "yes man"....give up?...it's being a "yes ma'am"
  18. Well, then you will love what TWI did to halloween - Bless and Treat oops, I see this was posted above - sorry. Calling exercise CP3 (in reference to way corps principle 3)
  19. Oh man, electrifying was used so so much by one of my branch coordinators anytime we talked way int. classes, current sts, way mag, whatever. The sentence would end with him running out of words, getting bugeyed and exclaiming "it's electrifying".
  20. ROFL! You think they could provide a gradated scale showing where one's believing was and where it needed to go. All I ever heard was up - is there no ceiling?
  21. Oh let's not forget the two most overused words to ever be spoken in TWI, mostly used by whatever mindless mouthpiece has the mic at the moment. Tremendous and Wonderful. I can remember certain fellowship coordinators would have to insert these words after and in-between manifestations. For example "word of prophecy happens". F-ship coord. pipes in afterwards in a pseudo-reverent, somewhat breathy voice..."that was tremendous"...then continues to call on the next person. Egads. Ted Phillips must have one of the smallest vocabularies out there because he uses these two words multiple times every service. It really is a commentary on how they think everything they do is of the utmost magnitude. It really is wonderful to recognize the tremendous egotistical self importance of a very small insignificant group that lives in a corn field. It's tremendous.
  22. No, the yaks even say that it is a word coined by TWI that means to retain in memory...AGGGH!
