Yes, he went into the audition, they asked him to have a seat, and he sat on his head. Gary Marshall said he was the only alien to audition, and he got the part.

During his audition, the actor trying out for the lead did something only someone like his character would do. He got the job on the spot, the series creator remarking "He was the only ____ to audition." (The blank is NOT the title of the show, or part of it. But it's a giveaway). The lead actor was gifted at improv, so much so that the writers used to leave gaps in the script with the instruction, ___ goes off here.

Here's the cone of the storm after Bret. This is a screen grab that won't update.

Ok now I know it, but I am up on too many threads.

I feel like it's Amazon Women on Traxx, or some other movie that these threads have brought to life on repeated occasions.

One of the characters is known by a nickname because he is Irish. In the movie, he's played by a Black man. The explanation for the nickname was not changed, but was played for laughs.

The title of the movie is only half the title of the source material. The makers of the movie didn't want actresses auditioning for a biopic, especially considering none of the leading roles are women [not to mention it's a work of fiction. Not science fiction. Not horror. Just dramatic fiction].

Wrong author.

The song is about a guy and his girlfriend getting hot and heavy in his car. The baseball announcer's calls are supposed to be a metaphor for how close the guy is getting to... score.

The author of the source story for this movie was paid $5,000 for the rights. He never cashed it. He had it framed and sent it to the director with the note: "In case you ever need bail money." Both author and director are doing fine. Nominated for seven Oscars. Won none. Flopped at the Box Office but now considered a classic. The co-star took care of the narration. Of course he did. [Notably, this was his first time].
