Child care worker disregards the wishes of the father of the children in her care, and ends up worming her way into his heart, breaking up the impending marriage of that father to a woman of means
A business owner is about to loose his business in a hostile takeover, he ends up fighting back with the help of his clients, wins a trophy, the competor's business, and the girl, while reducing his competitor to a fat couch potato.
As I've pointed out, it's hard to be devious enough in this thread. Take a look at the first post. "The Wizard of Oz" is hardly about a killing spree, but it could be written that way. NIS, I appreciate your taking a stab at this, especially since I've passed; but changing "gym" to "business" just isn't devious!
"Dodgeball."
Try this:
A man saves another man's life but later refuses to save the same man's life.

I don't know that I'd call a groundhog a "rat."

That's a direct quote from the movie, Bill Murray calls it a "forecasting rat".

Steve!
Since I'm reasonably sure I'm right, here's the next one:
European man shirks his military duty, making his children and his new wife complicit in his crime, by illegally emigrating to another country

Too bad I didn't get it from your first clue. It's more keeping with the theme of this thread!
I'll try to come up with another soon.

Yeah, yeah. I know. And I occasionally think about it, too; but I'm drawing a blank. Feel free to jump in.

(Still might be too obvious.)
