The rhyme-scheme keeps making me think the missing title should be the Beatles' "Your Mother Should Know."  However, I know enough of the song that I'm confident this is NOT it. I also don't think this is ANY Beatles song despite that.

This is really close.
You have the wrong decade and the wrong quartet from the wrong country, but the title is very close.

Yeah, look, I put the whole song up there and if you still don't know it I would have to do something drastic, like try to figure out if the rhyme scheme is ABAB or AABB or ABBA or something.

I picked up one of their greatest hits albums not too long ago.  Only trouble is I've been hesitant to play it in my car until I get a new CD cleaner, otherwise I would have whipped out the album and tagged this one, that is if it was on the album?

So, I don't recognize the lyrics.

Almost certainly.

Snd if WW takes another swing at the title, Jeopardy style, he should get it

Ugh.

Does Your Mother Know?

By Abba.

Male lead singer in the original, talking about a too-young girl.

Genders reversed in the musical and movie Mamma Mia!

For the record, Mrs Wolf knows SOME ABBA stuff, but she didn't recognize it, and then she looked it up so she was ineligible to guess it.    It's funny that I knew NOTHING about the song, but was able to piece together part of the missing rhyme based on other songs and experience.   Then again, it's not like most pop songs come out of NOWHERE.

As the person who got closest, WordWolf should go next. :)

Ok, then the song that was on my mind last time I logged in.

"Take your baby by the hair, and pull her close and there, there, there.
And take your baby by the ears, and play upon her darkest fears."
