Anyone remember the tail numbers of the planes? It would be interesting to know where they ended up.

I don't know if the tail numbers are the same as the registration number, but the way rag from January-February 1983 states:

This particular Convair 580, registration number N328VP, named Ambassador One, did have a routine life for it's first 25 years -- first under ownership of United Airlines, then the Esso corporation.

But on December 26, 1977, it made a flight from Ohio to Gunisson, Colorado, under the new ownership of the Way International.

Interesting that the registration number is:

The pic from the cover of the magazine, shows no tail numbers. Just a white dove, in a black circle

Uh, it's "Frances" now, but that's another story.

I remember my flights on A-1 as being about the worst I ever experienced. The old bird was only pressurized for 5000 feet or so, and I dunno, just beat you up if the flight was more than a few minutes.

I didn't much care for it.
