  3. Oh wow, really? Ok. "God didn't make *****. I made him." Blocked out portion is not the title, but it is part of the title of multiple sequels.
  4. This show aired from 1998-2001. I wonder if I was the only one on 9/11/2001 who thought it would have been great to go back a week and stop the attack before it happened. Norman Lloyd's character in the series is named Isaac Mentnor. It's a hint for Marvel Comics, where Isaac actually is I.S.A.A.C. (short for Integral Synaptic Anti-Anionic Computer), a sentient program capable to create robotic forms that rules Titan, Jupiter's moon. I.S.A.A.C. was created by Mentor, leader of the Titans and Thanos' father. The password is "Conundrum." George
  5. The Street Walker Strangler -- story about a merciless killer who had a bad childhood and abused drugs and who later committed suicide. While in St. Louis, visit the Gateway Arch and Basilica of St. Louis... (I was blessed to hear that she has great appreciation for and loves to visit old Roman Catholic Cathedrals).
  6. Drunken Master The Cannonball Run Naughty Boys George
  7. Yesterday
  8. All day long they work so hard Till the sun is going down Working on the highways and byways And wearing, wearing a frown You hear them moaning their lives away George
  9. Amen. We thought we had all the right stuff... am thankful now to see that that presumption was erroneous.
  10. It's Suzanne. Written by Leonard Cohen and recorded by Judy Collins. FREE POST
  11. Still no guesses? Here's some more: And Jesus was a sailor When he walked upon the water And he spent a long time watching From his lonely wooden tower And when he knew for certain Only drowning men could see him He said "All men will be sailors then Until the sea shall free them.
  12. Different take again, Oldies. Always we need to know something of the context, as best we can. It's very obvious that the early church recognised women as leaders too; just read the list of names of those who helped both Paul and Jesus. Stand-alone women, not adjuncts of their husbands. It's also very obvious that Jewish culture of the time was very patriarchal even though there were some powerful women. We get hints, in other prevailing regimes (Greek, Roman) but again, be careful not to read (say) Greek culture of one epoch into that of another time. Anyway, this isn't just about women in the church; I was interested in Monte Mader's (sometimes) outrageous insights into quite a lot of religious and especially Christian-nationalist hype. Especially on compassion/empathy for homeless, LGB groups, non-white groups, migrants, etc. I would love to set her on some of the TWI know-it-all "reverends"!
  13. I have a feeling VPW would be displeased with this AI interpretation, as he taught us the Epistles were addressed to us.
  14. Great Point Penworks! I'm curious to know if they'll put Ellen Whiteside's name on the cover. As many of you know, TWI sells "What God's Word Says About Angels" and "Outreach Strategies of Jesus Christ" without LCM's name.
  15. Twice a month was considered 'faithful.' If a person stops attending for six months, TWI considers that person no longer participating in the ministry. I know they used to inflate the numbers or exaggerate TWI's influence on culture, but to be fair, those were their criteria (at least until the last two or three years). And...Nowadays home fellowships are twice a week.
  16. Excellent and sharp point she makes i.e.... women no longer need to be silenced in public as was in recent history and culture at the time -- but Paul confirmed women deacons completely smashing that view. AI gave me a different take that was quite pleasing to me -- it said that verses about women being silenced in the church, should predominantly be interpreted as in the context of local Corinthian women causing a disturbance of local worship services only and not a general prohibition on women speaking altogether in church services.
  17. I'm giggling here. In FellowLaborers we had a bare minimum of 2 believers meetings with manifestations... every day! "For, yay, verily, so on and so forth, yada, yada"
  18. Faithful is only twice a month now? Did you mean that, or did you mean twice a week, more the norm when I was around.
  19. Not, the first line; We take a walk The sun is shining down Burns my feet as they touch the ground
  20. Uh-oh, somebody looks very grumpy there. "That's Gay with the mohel" Mohel? NO!!!! He's the man that snips the baby's little winkydink. No matter how hard he tried, the mohel couldn't coax Greggie's tiny little turtle from his shell.
  21. Twinky: Expand your vision, people. The world is not the USA. And the vision presented by news sources in the USA is very biased, one way or the other, with insufficient apolitical reporting, and not much international reporting. There are many countries outside USA - it's true!! It really is!! There are 50 countries in Europe, 54 in Africa, 48 in Asia, 12 in South America. 195 countries altogether, sharing this planetary space. That may mean 195 different cultural outlooks, problems, benefits. Life works much better if we can work collaboratively not competitively. We are all INTERdependent. Not INdependent. So please - take the time to think of what happens elsewhere, and how what goes on in one country - your own, wherever that might be - affects those in other countries. All I'm saying is : be prepared to take another look at whatever you hear and think: the news, scripture/theology, anything you're interested in - from a different angle, perspective. Amen, Sis. Amen
  22. I've heard there may be a political discussion or two going on over at Reddit.
