  1. "I wish I were the man I know to be." victor paul wierwille I wish......... I were........ I know....... Translation: I see myself (a projected image) on a glorious stage as a world-renowned leader knowing there are millions upon millions who crave to hear me teach. When I speak, the throngs of crowds before me listen with reverence silence.........to hear words of majestic importance for their lives. From their subservient demeanor, I am assured that the Lord has called me to this great endeavor, place and time. .

  2. Is precisely some of the people I work with. One way is to demonstrate by actions, not a thing TWI was very good at. Arguments? Huh? Who cares what answer you got? You get the answer by living the life. Your bit about "meekly learn" is straight out of the TWI playbook. DO NOT EVER try that one on me. The amount of abuse (that's ABUSE, ABUSE, ABUSE, that TWI meted out to so very many under the guise of them not being "meek," is beyond measure. Just shut it, Mike.

  3. Banality of evil[edit] Arendt's book [Eichmann in Jerusalem] introduced the expression and concept of the banality of evil.[7] Her thesis is that Eichmann was actually not a fanatic or a sociopath, but instead an extremely average and mundane person who relied on clichéd defenses rather than thinking for himself, was motivated by professional promotion rather than ideology, and believed in success which he considered the chief standard of "good society".[8] Banality, in this sense, does not mean that Eichmann's actions were in any way ordinary, or even that there is a potential Eichmann in all of us, but that his actions were motivated by a sort of complacency which was wholly unexceptional.[9] Many mid-20th century pundits were favorable to the concept.[10][11]

  6. Hmm. Narcissistic Personality Disorders fall in love with their own Image, not themselves, but their image. The sucky situation of being unable to see this image must drive the vampire batty, which also kinda look like little flying monkeys.

  7. Mike Have you ever taken a step back and looked at the absurdity of some of the nonsense you post here? I mean, you're not a sage or a prophet or someone who has stumbled upon the ultimate source of wisdom for all ages. PFAL is just another one of thousands of bible classes that have come and gone. Yes, it presents some controversial, unorthodox concepts that go against the flow of mainstream Christianity. Beyond that? Well, it's just another bible class and not a particularly good one at that. Perhaps if you didn't devalue critical thinking so much you might be able to recognize that. Then again, maybe you have too much invested in your quest to ever consider that.

  8. *grabs a wrench and uncrosses eyes, one at a time* Mike, do you have your own personal review of Hannah Arendt's take on the Banality of Evil?

  9. I forgot about Animal Farm ! Great story ! And you got me analyzing what I like to read…stories like Animal Farm and 1984 and really good sci-fI can be appreciated on so many different levels…I probably ought to revisit some of those classics…think I make such a “learning project “ out of non-fiction stuff, I forgot how much fun, relevant and thought provoking allegories, fables, and such can be. Maybe my mind has gotten lazy just looking to be entertained…switching to movies for a minute cuz it touches on the same thing - a big fav of mine and my wife’s too is Being John Malkovich - a comedy about a puppeteer discovering a portal into a famous actor’s mind. It is such a quirky funny story - and always gets me thinking about social dynamics , interpersonal skills, the authentic self. It’s entertaining but really gets you to think afterwards.
