  1. In today's mail I recived an interesting piece of mail. The letter was from an Orginization called "living Tree Academy" from Germantown, Tn. They have a website at www.livingtreeacademy.org Does anyone know anything about this orginization???? --> They say they are starting a 'BRC' "Biblical Research Center" in the country of Belize. The letter says that the 'BRC' buildig will be a replica of the one in the United States. The picture on the back of the letter looks like the 'BRC' building at the 'TWI' grounds, complete with the carport canopy on the right side of the building as you are facing the front of the building. Thier logo on the top left corner of the page is a tree with a little banner going to the right with the letters "lta" at the end of the little ribbon type banner. If anyone has any information on this group, please post. Thanks. danteh1
  2. Ted I just wanted to let you know that I got your CD of music in today's mail. It's great. Several of the older songs that I remembered and love, plus several new ones. Thankyou for offering the CD to us here at GSCafe. danteh1
  3. bowtwi Essex, Iowa is fairly easy to get to from the KC area and is about 2 to 3 hours north on interstate 29 to the Nebraska City, Nebraska exit. then is about 30 miles east of I 29. on hiway 2 go through Sidney, Iowa (home of the Sidney, Iowa Rodeo) over to Shenandoah, Iowa then North on hiway 48 about 5 miles to Essex. Heck, there is even a historic old Hotel/b&b place here if you could get a reservation into the people who run it for then.
  4. Hi Ted You bet that I want a CD of your music. Be expecting an email from me after I put this post on the cafe. I always enjoyed your music. It's also nice to have someone as nice as you offer something really great for the people here at the "Cafe". Also I had the chance of hearing you and the group play and sing when I was "WOW" in Wyoming in the early part of '80 in Casper, Wyoming. But that was a whole other lifetime ago. Thanks again for making the generous offer.
  5. Hey Oakspear, I didn't know that you lived so close. How long ago did you deliver the World Hearald?? I used to deliver a newspaper that the World Hearald bought out, The Council Bluffs Non-Parrel was a part of the total block that the W-H bought which included the "Valley News Today" which is the Shenandoah, Iowa paper. If anyone that lives close enough like 1 or 2 hours away the main activities (parade, flea market in the park, and Demo Derby) are on Labor Day monday. They have a free weenie feed on mainstreet on the sunday before which coinsides with the bathtub race, I can post more info. when they get the information posted. I can also check up on the local prices for motels and the people who have the camper parking with the shower area for those so inclined to "camp out".
  6. For me, I wouldn't ever go back with the current leadership and thier a$$ ki**er, WayGB yes people still running to tell them everything you did or didn't do. I know that sounds mean spirited. But with why I got out (volintarily on my part) the only thing I am waiting for is the return and having a bigger fellowship with GOD and Jesus, which would be a much sweeter and kinder fellowship with no backbiting and pressure at all.
  7. I was just throwing the idea out for a small response. But as far as being a "Bible" carring event, not for me thanks, I had enough in 'TWI'. Which included being dressed up for the sunday services when i was living in Emporia. The wennie roast sounds like a good idea. We could have it where i live here in Iowa during the Labor Day weekend. The town has a parade on Labor Day monday with a fairly good flea market in the city park. Several orginizations have a food setup during the flea market. Also the Labor Day festivities has a bathtub race, where they have an old bathtub fixed up with a stearing wheel filled with water, driver sits in the water, and 3 people push the bathtub on a obstacle course around orange conesto the opposite end of the course frome the starting line and then makes a straight run back to the starting line. Of course on the tub race, people on the sidelines can throw water ballons at the people if they want. But the main thing is they do have prizes for the fastest 3 top teams of 4 people. and last year they had an antiuqe car show for the people with restored cars. The winners in each of the classes got a trophy and a ribbon for thier display class. They even have people who have old restored farm tractors that they show. there is a lake west of town that has primitive and electric camping setups but no showers that i know of. At the town soth of here they have 2 motels, a "Day's Inn" and another large motelabout a block west of the first one. and also there is a camping area on the south side of the town sout of here that does have camping "with showers" for those of you that wouldn't want to go with the non-shower campground. and the people that run the "with showers" campground do have a few rooms to rent to I belive. The town south of here is Shenandoah, Iowa and has 3 Pizza parlors Breadough, Godfathers, and Pizza Hut. McDonnalds, Burger King are 2 other resturaunts in Shen. Plus a resturaunt named "Mondo's" that is a full survice resturaunt. But that is only an idea from me. Most of you probably wouldn't want to go to some small, off the beaten path, town in Iowa. But, hey, let me know what you think. I almost forgot one main thin on Labor Day monday night the town also has a 'Demo Derby' that is fairly good too. danteh1
  8. Hope R. How right you are. Any Innie should take a look at all of the information that is available on 'TWI', current and past activities. That way they will have a better knowledge base of what 'has' and 'is' going on with the leaders that are in power. I know that the leadership wouldn't tell the 'Innies' anything other than what they want them to know, I.E. only the "Way's" spin on things. Anything other than that would be covered as supposidly "Copped Out" belivers by RR and the WGB crew.
  9. I was wondering, if there was a get together for ex-twi members and thier families and friends, sort of like our own fellowship type gathering. Would anyone come to it? If it was well thought out, well planed and at a location that would handle a large amount of people if needed.
  10. Pat I was wondering, 'IF' TWIM (Ill.) happens to win the lawsuit over TWI (Ohio), would that mean that TWI (Ohio) have to drop thier name and maybe, just MAYBE have to go and tell thier masses thats left what happened that they have to change thier name?? It would also be interseting if TWIM caused TWI (Ohio) to have to completely close down. wouldn't that be so sad to poor old Rosalie Rivenbarfff? :(--> NOT!!!!!!! :D--> :D--> :D--> :D-->
  11. If H.P. became the next Prez. of TWI it would still be the same as it was. Same S**T different leader. It would still smell as bad as before. What would be a real surprise is if they finally got the idea that they aren't getting any new membership in to get thier money base built back up, and have to close down. Which would be good in my humble opinion. But that would be like the old man trying to sweep back the rising tide with a broom. After VPW died they lost the tide that they had for people coming in to the ministry. At least VP had the carisma or whatever he had, 'BS' mostly, that it took to get the new people to join. When LCM took over it all went to the debbile in a handbasket faster than an Indianapolis 500 speed car. With each succsesive leader it just gets worse with time. If TWI was run like the 1st century church was run and the leadership was made up of commited people that wanted to help and heal people it would have stayed strong and viable. But the leadership the way it is now, not many new people are staying after they find out how TWI is run.
  12. Hey!!! Greasespot nametags sounds like a great Idea to me. Anyone have one of them there button pin makers and want to make a small charge for the button or name tag, having the 'GS' logo on it and with PAW's blessing of course. That way we can be the talk of the town and when people ask us about what 'GS cafe' is we can tell them. Our own Greasespot ambassidors so to speak. And maybe some people from Greasespot cafe can go to a coffe shop or resturaunt in 'KN' and witness to some of the 'Big Nuts' in charge at the local farm, as long as we didn't get on thier side of the fence. Also, could we make a gettogether at a resturaunt or coffee shop our own little 'GS' rock?
  13. I was just thinking, IF VP's books and such are bringing 'BIG' bucks, wouldn't some of the old items like the Way book bag ( i had one at one time that was blue and you could carry your bible and way books in, had the way logo and said 'The Way International' on the side ) be worth some money on EBay??? along with the lapel pins and such? Just curious of course.
  14. i took a look at the video of the songs, and it looks like the singers didn't really feel that comfortable being up on stage. More of "I have to be." rather than "Sure is fun to do this." kind of thing. Does anyone think that a freight train load of Geritol might help them??? -->
  15. Wouldn't TWI also have to go after any other websites that would also be infringing on thier "supposed" trademark? And how many would come close to being similar or the same type as thiers? It looks like they are trying to get all of the sites that would come up in a web search to keep people from finding out the truth about how they operate and treat the members and how many lawsuites are running against them. TWI has the members ABS money to fund thier projects and defence in the lawsuits. Also we all know that they wouldn't be telling those that are in how much $$$ it is taking to do it either.
  16. Would there be any way 'WE' here at GScafe can get our own "2" minute comercial (without letting out what orginizations are mainly covered) put out on the air??? I am just curious and if I am out of line, please let me know. thanks.
  17. on thier web site the link is posted on the "what's new" site yet, as of today. I don't know if they would be entitled to post it or not. (not being a lawyer) The content of the piece seems like a way for them to try to legitimise them as being a good "New Age" type of religeon that has the answers to all that is 'ailing' you. If it wasen't for all of us that were in knowing about what they really are, it could be a lot worse. Thank God that the people who wrote the emails, and originally saw the peice when it aired. The word on 'WHO' 'The Way' is, is now being told to hopefully the right people in the news media.
  18. Have you also noticed in the video that everyone looks like a store clothing dummy? Very stiff and sober looking, like they aren't having any fun at all. At least in a regular religous church the people look natural and not molded. Also in the bookstore department the man and woman look so "Excited" to be there. Maybe the new 'Barf rag', I mean 'Way mag' is in. I hope whoever owns the rights to the video nailes them to the wall for using the segment on thier website. That would mean that the video they used for it will wind up costing way more 'ABS' money than they paid for producing it all.
  19. I'm glad that there are some people who are doing thier homework and catching this type of 'PR' tactic by TWI. $29,000 for a 2 to 3 min. 'PR' video to help TWI look good? I'd say it blew up in thier faces, 'BIG' time. It wouldn't suprise me a bit if the word has already gotten around to some of the other news networks about what has happened. Which is a good thing so TWI doesn't try to pull another stunt like this and try to give thier membership a boost, (I.E. them trying to make themselfs look like the good guys when they aren't). Thank you to the people who took the time to write MSNBC and the others about what TWI really is and who they have hurt in the process. Now if the leadership trys again they won't have much luck in having another one of the 'PR' shows, show up again.
  20. I think that a safe house is a great idea. But as far as in NK WOULD be out of the question as any safe house would be known about when it would be set up. A safe house cold be set up in a city near NK and through a person not ever affiliated with TWI. That way it would be hard for anyone with them to track it down. As far as the mormons, I know that there was a polygamy group of the mormons in the Arizona or New Mexico area that still practices multiple marrages, with some of the women being as young as 12 to 14 years old. I think i may have seen the same type of show on the multiple marrages. One man covered on the show had 7 to 8 wives and the youngest wife was about 15 or 16 and the husband had married her when she was about 12 or 13. There is no need in having to have any girl marry that young here in the United States. I know that people from India and some of the Arab countries still practice arranged marriges. and they have kids as young as 7 to 8 already set up on who they are going to marry. But the idea of a "safe" house is a great idea. Even if it starts out on a small scale at first, like a 3 or 4 bedroom house with a way of having the right people be able to find it that want to get out of the cults.
  21. Hi I just wanted to let everyone know that Patricia has emailed me back. She said that she has been on a long break as to why I haven't heard from her. So thanks to everyone for helping me get back in touch with her. danteh1.
  22. I have just read the posting of H.P.'s responce to Mrs. W. being put into the care facility. It seams like a smokescreen to help cover some of TWI's involvment in not wanting to give out the whole story. Hey PAW. How about inviting J.P. and the other Wierwille kids, as many as want to, to respond to the letter that Harvey sent to GSC??? have them give as much of thier feelings on what was said and on what they think has been done by TWI with Mrs. Wierwille's care. And also if the WAY has been helping as much as they have said they are. It would be an interesting bit of information. Also we all KNOW that the 'WAY' has also been known to protect thier a$$ets as much as they can. As for J.P. and the other kids that were kicked out helping to decide on how Mrs. Wierwille was going to be taken care of, were they notified 1. In person? 2. By letter? 3. Called on the phone and told? 4. Given the chance to come 'ON GROUNDS' and have a disscussion of where and how she was to be taken care of??? Or was the decision just offered to the kids and then done??? I still think that if PAW can swing it, to get as many of the Wierwille kids to respond to harvey's letter. AND to give as much information as they can give to what was covered by TWI's responce. And to use the information on the TWI website would be shear murder for the site and let ALL of the rank and file know that there is trouble in Mudville tonight.
  23. Thanks igotout That is the email that i sent a message to Patricia or "Tricia" as she used to like to be called. I might try contacting her again. Thanks for the help. danteh1
