  1. You'd be surprised just how easy it is these days to make movies, why even a couple of kids with a well under under million dollar camera can start a *cult classic*. how funny that would be wouldn't it
  2. Well for what its worth I think it's a dumb idea ;)--> I think the simplicity of a roast event makes the whole deal easy on everybody except for the food coordinator, a job Cathy has handled with great grace and good humor. Outside of locating a park that had camping, we simply expected people to be adults and to think through their weekend needs. Now a thought just came to mind, were you speaking of a fellowship (bible) gathering or a general gathering of g'spotters which would include athiests new agers and other assorted folks?
  3. Well I cracked the case and installed the new drive, everything looked fine until I booted up (with the maxtor floppy and cd in drive) we formatted the drive (984000mb or sumthing) and then it told me to insert my boot disk which I did. It messed around a little and then told me because I am using a millenium program (I thought it was xp...) I could only use my drive for saving data and if I wanted to do otherwise to run a microsoft program which I unfortunately fergot to write down so I put the old drive back in and am writing this even as we speak. Umm whatferis this disk I am supposed to run? Can I get it from my computer? I have like 4 xp disks which I guess I'm supposed to run after I get this current problem solved. sigh... Did I already tell you many thanks?
  4. Where did eveyone go? My whole world went blank~! :eek kidding... OK as a standard presearch thing there are LOTS of files on my left, with lots of subkeys. After clicking on a particular files on the LEFT (or running say a btdownload search) a series of keys appears on my RIGHT which were they keys I deleted. Now I also went through and removed a few suspicious keys on the left (ones that were shaded blue when I ran the search thing and matched numerically wize with what my other programs were telling me were the key numbers I was looking for) so far everything still works tho I've not tried everything
  5. Hey when I run regedit the results come up on the right and those are the troublesome files right? which then can be deleted right?
  6. ROFLMAO!! I already did see sometimes I just get impatient... anyways so far everything looks fine I do get an error message saying that it couldn't find the hijacked startpage file and then goes on to open up in about.blank. Basicly I deleted the files which were highlighted on the left once the search was completed, so far nothing seems amiss but I've not turned this thing off yet so we shall see. BTW I may get a wild hair to replace my drive (read replace as in NOT reusing the old drive in any form or fashion, even to save files to). I can replace the drive quite easily (I can see what pins are covered on the old one) but I'm wondering if there are any tricks to installing or configuring the new drive? It's a maxtor 80 gig 7200 rpm can I simply insert the xp disk or do I need to format something first?
  7. OK :)--> when I do that search thing it highlights a file and when I left click it gives me the option to delete it and all it's subkeys. I am assuming since my machine didn't implode that mashing delete was what I wuz supposed to do. Hopefully...
  8. thanks guys but this is not working. I have no problem reformatting my puter should I mess up in the registry. So... I wanna take a look around my registy, how do I get there and what buttons do I need to stay away from? The registry is a list of running programs right? Could this malware clone itself into other programs and hide? How bout a fresh install? does that eliminate these things?
  9. Nope it's still there :(-->
  10. ok I came up with two files and deleted both of them should this take care of it? who or what is flipside? why are they being such a nuisance? can I fack with them somehow to get back at their callous disregard for my personal sanctity?
  11. ok on downloaded program files I have: BT download ctrl housecallcontrol rdxieclass and wonweblaunch Adaware sez... Hkey_current_user:soft Possible browser hijack attempt data miner regdata - softwaremicrosoftinternetexplorermain "start" risk level: med I check it and it dissapears but if I run the program again (adaware) it comes back, scary huh! Much thanks :)-->
  12. Okley Dokley boys and girls I have used adaware housecall norton and spybot not to mention searching for and removing 3 active x programs from the search results page all to no avail adaware sez I have it and tells me it's gone but it's still there norton tells me my puter is still infected (and apparantly they can do nothing about it) and spybot seems unable to tie it's own shoe laces properly. sigh so I suppose I need to enter the forbidden city of registry keys and poke around any suggestions? I have no fear for if I screw up I'll mash ctrl alt del and repeat there's no place like home until it fixes itself
  13. Sure thing Shaz :)--> We used guinea's on the golf course for years and never had a problem with ticks. I noticed that they liked to wander though, often up to a mile away. We had 5 hens, Buddy the local pharmacist had a flock as well but once his flock found out about ours they moved over here. I also noticed they prefered the short grass of the course as opposed to the taller thicker stands of grass and weeds so their effectiveness is limited by their quirkiness. I've recently found out that fire ants will eat the hell out of the pesky buggers so you might want to leave the ants alone if they aren't encroaching on yer living space. Pets (at least the bright ones) avoid their beds so it's mostly us humans that have to be careful :)-->
  14. WB you must stay grounded in the present truth, now say five hail rosies n one our harve :D-->
  15. Funny you should start this thread Shaz, I've been doing some research on ticks, boy are they not something to fool around with! Some suggestions that I found for dealing with ticks were: Spraying with Neem Oil (strong odor but it goes away after a few days) Throwing bird seed in infested areas to attract more wild birds Raising Guinea Hens Building a gravel or woodchip border/buffer zone between the woods and habitable areas Tick repellant Spray: 2 sprigs lavender 20 eucalyptus leaves 1 quart water Boil mixture. Use as a spray repellent And then of course there is the clove of garlic a day solution which while not proven to prevent sticky-tickys does make yer body less appealing to a variety of critters including but not limited to bod members vampires and other assorted blood suckers :D-->
  16. Powerpoint, I think Relinda did an Organics 101 on powerpoint already, I'll have to check and see what she has, where should I start reading? Z I'm not sure what the dollar amount is but I suspect it ain't alot...
  17. I'm have been asked to assist a group with implimenting a curriculum grant. This grant will help county extension agents learn organic production tehniquues. This project may involve creating a cd which would idealy include video, illustrations, narrative, diagrams tables etc. My question is, just how technically difficult is this? Are there online tutorials and/or these programs themselves that I can take a look at? In all likelyhood the actual production work will be done by a local college but I'd like to take a look-see at what it involves and what kind of content we will be needing to come up with. Thanks Mikey
  18. Psalmie, I have not used paypal before so I can't say how secure they are except it sure don't look like it right now Did you file a police report yet? I'm pretty sure you will need to do that in order for the bank's insurance company to pay up. A few years ago I handled email for a farm group. Every week I would delete dozens of bank fraud schemes originating from another country quite south and to the right of us. I imagine if you let ebay and paypal know what happened they will sic their internet detective on this lazy bums arse and make sure he don't mess with you again! Hi Psalmie :D-->
  19. D If their snipe hunting ability is any indication of their escape ability, then we're gonna need more n maps
  20. Any chance we could have a class together by say columbus day??
  21. I think you are absolutely correctomundo there D :D--> Now the next question is are they willing to cough up money to believe it or not?
  22. Steve I forgot I had Spybot already installed, I ran an updated Adaware as well as WinCleaner '02 first. The Udated Adaware caught most of the lil buggies and Spybot cleaned up the rest. I'll leave things as they are for now and see if this solves the problemo, if not I'd run norton in safe mode n see what giggies. Thanks, Mikey
