  1. I might know a good company if you just need a guy in a wheelchair moved.....
  2. Well, not in this particular context.
  3. Yeah, don't worry Cman, the flamers will be back after Labor Day.
  4. I know it's late, but HERE'S my suggestion. (still can't figure out how to embed)
  5. NO ONE expects the Spanish Inquisition!!! (somebody had to )
  6. I agree, Belle. Now, we just need a fourth player. How about it, Oak?
  7. If memory serves, the fourth one is Yardley (Schaefer)? I know one of the names is Yardley, anyway.
  8. Sure. BG went to the funeral to make sure VPW was dead.
  9. Whenever Abi and I get a good parking space (esp. at Walmart) we usually say, "Gee, we're going to have to put a little extra in the devil spirits' pay envelope" (plural for the number of them we have on staff). Conversely, if we have to vulture for a spot, it goes something to the effect of, "I think we're going to have to sit them down and give them a stern talking to".
  10. I truly hope I'm wrong about this, but I'm not altogether certain TWI won't, at some point in the future. If you've ever seen the movie "Taps", I think it will put you in touch with the mindset of the 'hardcore' TWI'ers. When I saw it, it scared the s*** out of me (which, btw, is no mean feat).
  11. ************This is ABIGAIL************** Be very careful of the Saturn. My sister bought one. After a week she realized it was burning oil. She took it in to a shop to have it checked out. Apparently one of the cylinders (I hope I am explaining this well, I am not a mechanic) was worn out. The mechanic said they see that a LOT with the Saturns. Over time one of the cylinder's warps and becomes oval shapped. Once that occurs, it is only a matter of time (and not a lot of time) before you have to replace the entire engine. She got royally screwed on the deal. Just as an aside in case you consider it - the newer GM cars suck too. Do not buy the ones with the red coolant. GM used really cheap gaskets in those cars and the red coolant eats the gaskets away. We made the mistake of buying two GM cars - both with the same problem. It is roughly $1300 to replace that stupid gasket. There are a bunch of people in Canada trying to get a class action suit against them over this.
  12. The latest story is HERE I am becoming totally exhausted by all of this. Now they are finding contaminated rice protien concentrate. I went out of my way to purchase lamb and rice, making extra sure there was no wheat in it!! My dogs are nibbling at it here and there, but don't really like it and I have no idea if it is contaminated or not. :( Off to do dishes and make more homemade food. :(
  13. More added to the list: Natural Balance is now pulling two products. STORY HERE I am confused - why would a venison and brown rice food have wheat gluten in it? BTW, not all dog foods list ingredients, so it can be difficult to know. I spent a long time on Saturday looking at the various bags of dried food before I found one that listed ingredients and DIDN't have wheat or wheat gluten in it.
  14. Screw it, I can't figure out how to embed soooooo,
  15. I know I'm late to the thread and have nothing more specific to offer than you all may be interested in anything by Joseph Campbell. He was the world's foremost authority on comparative religion. I've read bits of his books and found them rather interesting. I would recommend starting with "Myths To Live By". It's a fascinating read, and a good primer on the subject.
  16. Vegan, there is no such thing as too much garlic.
  17. Interesting thoughts, Eyes! I was going to add some more to this tonight, but got caught up in chat. I will have to see what tomorrow brings. :) ****Posted by ABIGAIL, who forgot Sushi had been on his computer************
  18. Perhaps there is, ILB. Maybe, just maybe, this is a Firebee/Catmandoo type situation. A poster comes in for the sole purpose of stirring the pot. I don't know if this is the case here, but either way, the poster needs some serious help which we are not able to provide.
  19. Just curious, PB, do you have young girls in your household? If so, would you be as welcoming to Anothen to your house as you are to him here? Perhaps, make him a 'friend' of the family? On a side note, there are some here who will rant and rave about what Ole Doc Vic did in the motorcoach (probably other places too), yet are forgiving of an admitted pedophile. I'm not condoning what the a hole did (VPW), but, at least his victims were closer to the age of consent.
  20. Most unfortunate, being unsuccessful in your pursuit of eternal 'bliss'. Could have saved the taxpayers, wherever you are, a heap of money.
  21. If you like classical guitar, I would highly recommend Christopher Parkening's "Parkening Plays Bach"
  22. Yes, but it really wouldn't have mattered if you weren't. I just would have had to come up with a pithy Joisey truck driver reply.
  23. Don't think this has gone unnoticed, Mr. Aar. Headquarters is getting rather spiritually suspicious. I guess it's a matter of where your priorities lie. I also notice, your sacrificing reports are not on my desk (in triplicate). If I can't rely on you to show up on time and get your reports in, I'm just going to have to find someone else to take over your responsibilities as head bunny sacrificer. If this keeps up, I have no other choice than to put you on spiritual probation for six months. I truly hope I don't have to do this, but you're not giving me a ton of options here.
  24. Well, that disagrees with MY schedule, Bramble. You have next Wednesday at our 24 hour kitten sacrificing vigil. Actually, I'm the one who sacrifices the kittens. Bramble here sacrifices the puppies. So much sacrificing, so little time. (note to self: Must interview for NEW Asst. Sacrificer)
