  1. Brethren? Oh so who exactly are these brethren? Is this your code word for der Victoid's phrase, "Unbelieving believers"? A few years? Hmmmm, let me see now.... hasn't it been a few years since you dumped Elizabeth because someone saw spiders coming out of her nose in a vision? So what happened here John? Did you and Elizabeth get back together and start to craft your revenge? I have seen this before... you pretend to be fully committed to a cause while you slowly take it apart from the inside so that you can have a following to carry away with you. (Isn't there a verse somewhere asking, "Who did carry you away?" Now folks can say, "Elizabeth and John did!) How dishonest this is! You've spent your time "identifying" folks??? I'm sorry but that sounds much more like you've singled out those who will follow you when you leave. It seems you learned your lessons from der Victoid eerily well. This is a pattern that I've seen ex-twi leaders follow over and over.
  2. He has a really GREEN lawn to show for all the fertilizer he's spread.
  3. It sounds like JAL is making a commercial: "Help! I'm talking and I can't shut up!"
  4. I just took a peak at your profile rosestoyou - Isn't it odd that you have year2027 down as a friend? I guess the splinter doesn't infect far from the cult...
  5. Okay - you started off by ranting about John Lynn and now you're acting like a garden variety twi-t. Do you realize that you've derailed your own thread? Perhaps you should take a look at what I posted on another thread concerning those who are so self-righteous that they can't smell the stink they emit: If you had done any amount of reading at all you would have realized that Roy really doesn't insult people. He blows a holy kiss at everyone for Christ's sake! Or are you still using those research skills you learned - starting with listening without a purpose? How old are you? Two? No wait, that would insult 2 year olds.
  6. Shellon, I'm so sorry to read about the krap surrounding you and your girls. It's a sad testimony to those family members still engulfed in the cesspool known as twi that they need to find someone to blame for their hurt. It certainly is misplaced and uncalled for. It certainly isn't Christian. Hell... why do they insist on laying blame for health issues? Isn't it ironic that we often heard that verse read where the disciples asked Jesus why a certain man was blind? They wanted to know who to blame - the parents or the man himself. Jesus said it wasn't neither. Yet the "believe and receive" crowd somehow know better. *SPIT* I tell you what... blame it all on me. I did it all. Blame every famine, pestilence, death, destruction, war, hurricane, earthquake, ear infection, typhoon, and runny nose on me. Now there is no one else to blame. Makes about the same amount of sense as blaming anyone else... doesn't it? Listen up you so-called believers in twi and it's various spawn of the devil (I mean splinters - splinters - they get under your nails and cause infection)... what you believe is a lie. You know it or else you would know how to deal with your pain and grief in a manner that is healthy. Instead you try to squeeze life and death into your twi-dimensional world and doctrines. Life is bigger than your walls of Zion. Your doctrine has left you so emotionally inept that you don't know how to just grieve. You are like caged animals growling and snarling at any passerby - even those that might be loving and friendly. You are making your own prison with your "doctrine of deliverance." The next time you stand up in a Sunday night service and sing "We've Got a Great Big Wonderful God" make sure you remind yourself that you're lying to yourselves. Either He is great and wonderful and you've reduced him to a petty publican who exacts his pound of flesh at the slightest mis-step, or He is neither great nor wonderful and you are sacrificing innocents for your crops to be plentiful and your conscience to be assuaged. Your actions make known your complete and utter hypocrisy. There... now my rant is done... for now...
  7. Hey! We've got sneaux! (That's la neige in fancy come-to-meeting French. White stuff from the sky to the rest of you.)
  8. Gen-2 I could be wrong, but I think that cman is not warning you about the spirit being something that is bad or can harm you. I think he's saying the same thing that Elisha warned Elijah about when Elijah wanted double the portion of spirit. I'm not about to look up the quote, but in essence Elisha told his young apprentice that what he was asking was too much for him and not something to be taken lightly. I may be wrong, but I think the point that cman is trying to give a friendly warning in his typical minimalist fashion. He's not saying, "The spirit will hurt you," so much as he's saying, "The spirit is one badazz muthafukkah who doesn't do party tricks." Now - I could be completely wrong here... but I'm fairly certain cman is not being combative.
  9. Get that tongue out of your cheek, Bolshy One.
  10. Has anyone ever stopped to consider the phrase "working the word"? Think of someone "working a room." Working it... The phrase doesn't inspire studying anything. I think more about moving about looking for an opportunity and a chance to benefit or profit. (Let's not open the can of worms that "profit" holds for those in twi.)
  11. Penworks - Just to clarify... I was saying that the signature characteristic of twi in general was that of idolizing more than the study of the bible and went on to idolizing the students and teachers of the bible themselves. I was in no way singling out those in the research dept.
  12. It seems we need an even more original word. "Bibliophile" refers to a lover of books. It doesn't quite have the sting we're looking for... Oh I found one! A Bibliolater which would then be extended to an autobibliolater
  13. Ahhh... but Sunesis I'm not so sure there's a word for what we really became - those who worship themselves worshiping the Bible. Autobibliophiles, perhaps? *Edited to add the following* I suspect you can say that twi became intellectually incestuous in it's treatment of researching the Bible.
  14. Geaux baby, geaux!

  17. How ironic that he was prone to recite that ole favorite about the old violin, given that everything he touched became broken.
  18. I can honestly say that in my ten years in twi -under vpw - I never heard that storied uttered by anyone, much less der Victoid.

  20. It may very well be that the information here at GSC is old. However, given that both twi and it's bastard children... ummm ... I mean splinter groups point to vp's reign of terror as some kind of sacred beginning of a new administration, it's good to keep pointing out the evil he and his cronies spawned and perpetuated.
  21. What's a gig? well - let's look at the facts that have already been stated: There's going to be a big-a$$ed party. Groucho will be officiating with stockings and garters under his robes I'll be making cheesecake
  22. Plans are still underway. Of course you are invited dear!:B)
  23. Yes Groucho - but just remember we want you to wear your garter belt and stockings under your robe when you officiate the services:
