Welcome, Taxidev. Think you already have a coffee. Nice to chat with you. It's going to be interesting to hear what a current innie has to say. Don't let aggressive comments from some here put you off. And, Taxidev, good that you find you can also learn from the R&R lot, but don't let that stop you from exploring what others have to say. There are good (and not so good) teachings and sermons in churches and on the net. If you listen to those outside of TWI kinda of thinking, your hackles will rise and your mind will start "correcting " what you hear. But stick with it, and you may gain some different perspectives. Take nothing and no one as being completely 100% accurate. They're all doing their best with what they know now (unless they are knowing scammers). They, like you, are free to reassess.

And so, yet again, another thread has turned its focus onto Mike.

You see, Mike, for most of the people who post here, any "good" that came out of PFAL is greatly overshadowed by the VERY GREAT HARM that was done by PFAL. Both in its words and in its practice.

Mike, there were many who took PFAL and walked away during it- that shows what they thought of PFAL's "great good." Some others stuck around for a few months, and then were distracted by other events - that shows what they thought of PFAL's "great good." Some others stuck around for a couple of years, maybe going to twigs, and a few festivals like RoA and then stopped fellowshipping. Perhaps they moved away, or their twi leader moved away - that such people never continued shows what they thought of PFAL's "great good." And then, notching it up a bit... Some went in rez or on staff. Some left during their rez time or staff time. They usually left in bad circumstances, and they were badmouthed after their departure. That shows what the leavers thought of PFAL. Yet more were graduated corps or long-term staffers. And they too are no longer fellowshipping with TWI. TThat shows what they thought of PFAL's "great good." And there remain a few, a very few, who continue to fellowship with TWI. Compared with the numbers that have taken PFAL over the decades, that shows exactly how many people "admit to the GREAT good that came out of PFAL." As a percentage of all PFAL grads, it wouldn't be high. Where and who are these grads you are talking about? How many, within a few dozen, are you talking about? If PFAL did "great good" for them, why are they no longer fellowshipping with TWI? Why aren't you?

Very funny, modcat. Craig was always going on about the "faithful remnant." The remaining or best part of the cloth. I posted something here once, something that came to me when I was cleaning the sink. My cleaning cloth was somewhat worn, a bit threadbare in the middle. It struck me then, as I scrunched up my cloth seeking a usable bit of cleaning fabric, that the "remnant" was the bit left over, the bit that hadn't (as it were) pulled its weight and given its all. And that rather fits with what WW has posted, about redundancy.

Hahahahahaha! Keys to keeping our minds DULL and pulling a VEIL OVER OUR EYES so that we can be fooled by his attacks, more like. Pity the in rez corps and staff that this class was practiced on, and who were then compelled to write these glowing reviews. Those days will start when you walk away from TWI and start to claim your rights in Christ to be free of oppression, when you stop being a captive of TWI. Innies - do it now!

Kathy, we would all agree with you in that sentiment. In fact, almost any life is better than the drudgery and crushing guilt of TWI.

Have you seen the Leah Rimini/Scientology thread in this forum? Pointing out the similarities between TWI and Scientology as total-control cults? (There are other threads, too.) I get you are talking about the individuals VPW and LRH, but the cult and the man are pretty much inseparable, since the man controls the cult and uses it to his own advantage.

T-Bone, you crack me up! That's hilarious! (I love yoghurt, have never tried that brand, and don't think I ever could now - I'd snort it out laughing too much)

A poisoned well? Or a cracked and broken cistern? I'm inclined to think the former. A well that keeps on supplying, but ruins all it comes into contact with. Doesn't seem like a cistern that is going to run out of water (poisoned or otherwise) any time soon, unfortunately. Contents still trickling out, but enough remaining that people still try to drink.

Search (or re-search) into people's pockets, what say? Also search (and re-search) into people's daily habits, including time spent with spouses. How prurient! Some of the best research we (as ex-Wayfers) can do is - read other versions of the Bible. Especially more recent ones, in more comprehensible language. Can really bring those dry old passages into sparkling life.

Grace, if you do a bit more reading around, you'll find she was an early supporter of VPW. He valued her opinion, so he wouldn't have shown his noxious side when she was around. And don't forget, so much of what we know now was very well hidden at the time. She wasn't on campus and she didn't see what actually went on, most likely.
