  1. The vow aspect was a very, very big deal to me. I also took a salt covenant the first time I got married. That, too, weighed heavily on my mind as I went through divorce.
  2. VPW---polygamist or just another dirty old man? In Christian Family and Sex, Wierwille stated that sexual intercourse is always (yes, he said "always") a spiritual event. In addition, he said that it creates a deep and lasting spiritual bond between the participants. (This, he said, is why it is crucial that believers never have sex with unbelievers.) He went on to say that marriage, in a biblical sense, is defined by the act of consummation, not the laws of men. The implied conclusion is that if you have intercourse with someone, you are married to them in a biblical sense. So the question this raises is this---- Now that we know Wierwille had sex with dozens, if not scores, of young Way women, does that make him a polygamist or just another dirty old man who spouted jibberish to serve his own private agenda?
  3. And don't miss Poverty----The poor man's panacea.

  5. No way! Red drapes are what killed that little boy in PLAF (The Wonder Class). See, when he got hit by the car, the lady in the apartment across the street just happened to notice all the commotion. She yanked those red drapes off the rod and ran out to the street to use them as a make-shift stretcher. In her haste, she ran right into the path of an oncoming septic tank cleaning truck. He swerved to miss her and, well, you already know the outcome.
  6. Like Ham said. So what if you don't believe in Jesus? Sixty seven percent of the World's population professes to NOT believe in Jesus.---- HERE---- And, you have to think that at least some of the other 33%, who say they do, are only doing so to placate someone else.
  7. I find this part rather interesting. Perhaps there's some sort of parallel analogy with the "Way Corps Only" site participants going back to the good old days. Do you suppose, centuries from now, that people will labor over transcripts from that site and marvel that Wierwille was able to change coffee into Drambuie or that he could cause a glass eye to die from the bottom up instead of top to bottom?----"For the time of ophthalmic prosthetics was not yet."
  8. It's too bad there wasn't a truck stop nearby called The Wayside Truck Stop. You could have ventured there under the cover of darkness with a trusted WOW brother and pondered the absurdity that was beginning to unfold before your eyes. Translation----Yes, I've experienced it.

  10. None of us are who we "used to be", for better or for worse. Still, that doesn't mean you are no longer "someone".
  11. From page 13 "The best tool in undershepherding is the PFAL Class. (more than once.)" In my opinion, "undershepherding" was a bastardization of the mentor/protege process. In a genuine mentoring situation, the mentor will guide the protege in a direction that will enable him/her to discover their own individuality or "voice", if you prefer. The process should ideally aid the protege in realizing their full potential. Undershepherding, on the other hand, simply exploited and abused the process to indoctrinate clones. I don't blame the individuals who did the undershepherding. I blame the process, itself, which was intentionally corrupted to benefit VPW & Co.
  12. From page 2 of W&U syllabus (1974) Our goal in witnessing and undershepherding. II Tim. 2.2 "The basic reason we witness is to help people into the classes on Power for Abundant Living and help them to walk on it" (Could it be any clearer?)

So Tiger's wife tried to smash his brains in with a golf club. What guy hasn't had that happen?
  14. I agree. I think that's the part of the recipe that Wierwille missed when he tried to duplicate Donnie's efforts.
  15. I'm not sure we'll ever know as they are both no longer with us.

  17. My personal opinion is that he saw how successful Donnie F. was and jumped on the bandwagon. At one time, Dale Carnegie's book, How To Win Friends and Influence People, was required reading.
  18. I shudder to think that, 38 years ago, that's probably how I sounded, too.
  19. Not sure about AREA 51 but I'm familiar with 151.
