Oh my God! I could feel a heavy weight of oppression descend upon me as I read. The deeper I went, the heavier it got. Please, Please, Please, I beg of you; delete those words from Hell before it's too late for all of us.

I still think the whole thing was just a front for an illegal name tag laundering operation. The Bible thing was just an after thought.

The evils of Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
waysider replied to fooledagainII's topic in About The Way
Hee Hee Maybe they were afraid they would have to exhume him (VPW) and and give him a final resting place near the slip of The GoodTime II http://cleveland.about.com/od/sightseeingt...goodtimeIII.htm BTW-- I played an after prom gig on this boat with a band called Soul Purpose in 1966. On the way home, we turned on the radio and heard a really cool new song called My Baby Does The Hanky Panky. :o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqYMqgXG8ks -

The evils of Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

It was taught in the advanced class, and other places, that the only way to achieve the level of success that would later become a criteria for induction into the RRHOF, was to sell out to "the adversary". (Wrong seed / devil spirits, that sort of thing.) Couldn't have all those sons of Satan being honored so close to hallowed ground, now could we? Maybe someone should have asked them where THEIR believing was? Sheesh! HQ was supposedly the spiritual epicenter of the world and yet it was afraid of something inanimate that was 150 miles away? -
Hay thar, JeffSjo Although the youtube is obviously a spoof, there really is a bubba cola It's a generic brand that's sold at Sav A Lot grocery stores.

If "revelation" actually worked as it taught in the Advanced Class, would there really be any need for name tags?

Irony in its finest form. -
Ya know, here's some twisted irony for you. During my involvement with The Way, I think I got to be TOO trusting of people. I think it has made it difficult for me to understand or even recognize some of the underhanded politics that go on in the office place. It sounds crazy, i know, but I think I became sort of naive about how how people are always "looking out for #1". Is it one of those kind of deals, excie?

When I was still real green, my twig leader took me witnessing at a local bar. (We were in our early 20's and we're both guys.) We introduced ourselves to two very attractive young ladies and before long were sharing a table with them. My twig leader got onto the "law of believing". At one point in the conversation, he said, "believing is a verb and a verb connotes "action". Well, I don't think they were under the impression they were involved in a grammar lesson. "Action" is what they were looking for. I wish I had a video of him back-pedaling and hemming and hawing to cover his butt. It was really quite comical to watch him try to save face. -
I thought I had heard every Steve Miller tune there was. I never heard that one, though. It's a good one. Some mighty tasty pickin' there. Pretty appropriate, too, with all these dance shows that are so popular right now. Thanks, Mr Miller!

It's amazing that, even though VPW has been dead for over 20 many years, his poisonous doctrines continue to harm people just as if the man had never left.

I haven't been on the dating scene since Pluto was a pup but I still remember what a weird trip it was. In Fellow Laborers, we weren't allowed to date anyone outside the program. Not like there was actually much time to do so anyway. And heck, we lived in a stinkin' commune in the middle of Podunk, USA. One of the guys had a secret girlfriend from one of the twigs in the big city 20 miles away that he snuck out to see a couple times during open time slots on the weekend. Now, these are grown adults in our mid 20's I'm talking about. One Saturday night he didn't make it back by midnight curfew and his cover was blown. He and all his belongings were tossed out and ordered to leave the state before sunrise. What a wacky life we led.
