  1. Hope I can't wait to hear about Brugges. I think it's the most charming place I've ever been in Europe. I know you are enjoying it thoroughly!

    Happy Birthday Sushi

Enjoy your day! with those you love, and who love you.
  6. Dearest Hope My wish and prayer for you on this trip is that you enjoy with wild abandon what lies in wait for you! Whatever it may be. It's a once in a lifetime experience that may not come around again. And I hope and pray that you enjoy every second of your time. John and kids will be fine, and better off for your time there. You will have so much more to give them when you get back, because you will be so full. Love you dearest T
  7. Oh geeze, Hope I just got back this week from 3 weeks in Europe with my oldest daughter. We had a total blast. My advice is to mingle with the natives as much as possible. I always like to see a place through the back door, which only happens if I can manage a local connection. The Van Gogh Museum in AMS is a must see. Anyway, I envy you going to Brugges. It is my absolute favorite place I've been in Europe. I stayed at the Duc de Bourgogne Hotel, which is where the Eoropeans stay, not a touristy place. The Hotel restaurant is world class, but expensive. A great place for a splurge. Do a google on it. You must eat mussels and frites and sample as much of the Belgian beer as you can handle. Hiccup! Brussels is amazing too. The chocolate is fabulous as are the tapestries. There are several wonderful tapestry shops off the Grand Place, and you can even purchase something and have them ship it home for you, so you don't have to carry it around. The lace too, is extraordinary. Have a blast, Hope! There is so much more I can share. PM me if you want.
  8. Mr. P, you are back here? I'll be mad if you don't call me or pm or something...... :B) But I'm leaving town til June..........When you wanna break from the city noise and traffic, call me and we'll do a barbeque. I'm not too much of an old fowgy, really.

    Dark Side of the Moon

What's really fun about this, is rediscovering the music with my 13 year old guitar playing son. Wheeee, doggies!
  10. Enjoy your day, Johnny, my old comrade. Maybe next yr., you can have a 50 bash here in Texas and we can share a few shiners. Love ya, dahling!
  11. Thanks dahling, Mr. Pipes for sharing with us. I admire you for doing what you did, and caring enuff to post this. You have alotta nerve, and care and concern about those whom you know nothing of. Thank you for that.
  12. Chief No offense intended, or anything, but so like.......... You mean the Way stinks, right? Is that what you said?
  13. Gawd, Johnny, come. If you are an outdoorsy person like moi, who loves horses and dogs and smellin trees and flowers, and fishin, hunting, and the like, it is total paradise here. I swear, and you know me, I don't swear often. You even get to kill a snake or two when ya need to, but gosh, we have the best life here. And there is always shark fishin off the pier in Galveston...... I love it, but then being a shorts, flipflop kinda person helps. Oh Yeah, in my other life, I am a designer who dresses and wears make-up and meets with serious clients and such. We've got the best of all worlds here. :D
  14. Oh gosh dove, we had it all, then. We loved and we laughed and we thought it would last forever. I wish it had of, ya know? Hugs to you, dearest. I really do love you.
  15. Thank you, Y. You are wonderful and please hug your family for me.
  16. There is no better reward in life as a mama, than having your kiddos do well. You rock, dooj! as does daughter! Celebrating with you, dearest!
  17. Aw, Safari, I can so relate to what you are saying. I think the "shield of believing" as it was taught to us, (in the corps, anyway, ala VP's Epheisians teaching) is just that. A shield to keep us from really caring about each other. It was a defense mechanism, to keep us from feeling, touching, hugging, relating to one another. It was taught as part of the "feel good" gospel of the Way, Inc. It's amazing what can happen, when we get rid of that shield. But you know that, don't you dear? Once we get rid of that defense mechanism, then we really start FEELING, and you know how "dangerous" that can be. Love yu.
  18. Dear chef I'm sorry for your pain. But at least you have the chance to say good-bye. That's really a wonderful gift. Hugs to you and yours.
  19. Well, all I got to say, sometimes in my life I think I'm "over it." Then somebody strikes a raw nerve, that I didn't know I had, and I realize I'm not as "over it" as I think. :o
  20. Well I'm the female who was really offended by sogwap's post. I read it as it was written, and saw a sweeping indictment of those of us who were sexually abused. If that was not her intention, and now I don't think it was, I apologize for my emotional reaction. My intention was not to "cast stones" at her. I have a pretty strong opinion about what was posted, but I guess now that's not really what she meant? No one pmed, or posted to me on that thread that I was out of line or needed to apologize or anything. One poster I respect stated in a pm that she disagreed with me. That was it. I thought about contacting sogwap and asking what she really meant, but she didn't correct herself on the thread and then said she was leaving. So I assumed she wasn't interested in working anything out. Again, I apologize for my contribution in making a mess of that thread. I should have asked for more clarification, and not have reacted so emotionally. So I guess my next question is "Now what?"

    The DaVinci Code

I have to admit here, I read "Angels and Demons" first, and then "The DaVinci Code," cause Hope told me to. I loved both of them. I think they are great works of HELLO, FICTION. I really don't understand all the "contraversy," among, like, hello, Christians? I just wish Harrison Ford, or somebody equally as sexy, was in the movie instead of Tom Hanks. I think he's a total nerd, and not that cute. I would love to see a really handsome, dashing leading man in the movie. But whatever, I still can't wait to see it.

    10th Corps

Well who knows, top. Maybe if dooj and I have enuff of Tommy's snowcones, we might just pile in my van and drive on up to your neck of the woods. Wouldn't that be a hoot if you heard a pounding on your door late at night and we just busted in. Oh and we could pick up pipes on the way. :D
