    Halloween

If memory serves me correctly, the year is 1963, Bobby (Boris) Pickett, The Monster Mash. 'course it could be the altzheimers kickin' in too... :D My 2 cents... Nomad888
  2. Why have we not heard much from Rosalie? Perhaps she is a believer in the words of Mark Twain: "Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." Perhaps... My 2 cents... Nomad888
  3. I've been there too. Even in my situation where my family was never dissed and still wants me among them, I still get this craving to be around people who think like me, or who have at least had a similar experience as I have. That desire is in all of us. This is why cliques form at school or work or other situations. Our little clique is called the Greasespot Cafe. My 2 cents... Nomad888
  4. Let's see... I went over 50 two years ago, but for some reason, I still feel 20-ish. I keep wondering why they don't card me when I purchase cigarettes or booze. I've been having AARP's letters returned to sender, but they haven't gotten the message yet. Retire?!? Doesn't that mean you get tired again? I've been doing that for years! Every morning, I keep telling this gray haired guy in the mirror to get out of the way so I can see myself, but he won't budge. The smart-a$$ keeps copying my moves. My 2 cents... Nomad888

    Naming Names.

    ??? Me confuzzeled... My 2 cents... Nomad888
  6. Seems slightly better on my home computer. Same with my work place system. The speed has increased greatly on my laptop, at least since I traded the Pentium 133Mhz in for this 2.4Ghz laptop, but I think the improvment is on my end. :D--> My 2 cents... Nomad888
  7. I knew someone who claimed to be a psychic, and he would claim to "read" people's minds. From what I witnessed of this guy, he had an accuracy of about 60% where his victi... er, subject would say he was dead on. After observing this guy for a few weeks, I came to the conclusion that he was simply an expert at reading people's body language. I say this because the 40 or so percent of the time he was wrong, he could not see the person he was "reading" very well, nor did he know them personally. The ones he read accurately he could see their mannerisms, and he already knew some things about them from associates or friends. This "personal prophesy" thing is (IMHO) crap. It is just a new name for an old trick (or as George put it, "...a joke..."). My 2 cents... Nomad888
  8. I was BORED to death one evening in 1997, and I did an Alta Vista search for "The Way" just for a lark. Through that search, I found Transnet's "No Way Out" magazine site, and Waydale. After it was announced that Waydale was shutting down, someone posted a link to GSC. So I registered there (at EasyBoard) and later here at Da Spot, and I've been here ever since. My 2 cents... 9. Hmmm Belle. Maybe that's why he didn't send the envelope back too. I had it neutered before I sent it so it couldn't eff. :D--> My 2 cents... Nomad888
  10. LCM is a splinter "group" unto himself. :D--> My 2 cents... Nomad888
  11. The first indication that I got that something wasn't right with TWI was at the Military Advance in San Jose, CA, November 10/11, 1984. LCM and Howard Allen were introduced to the senior military people who were there in uniform from Twentynine Palms, CA. I was the senior enlisted man present. As Martindale and I shook hands, he didn't look me in the eye as normal men would. Instead, he looked over my shoulder at the "scenery" behind me. The straw that broke the camel's back (so to speak) was a couple years later when I sent him a letter detailing how the "Father in the Word" title that they had confered on VPW was, in a word, crap. Martindale didn't even have the decency to respond in kind. Instead, he sent my letter back with two bible verses scrawled in red marker pen on the back of page 1. Shortly after that, I left the ministry. My 2 cents... Nomad888
  12. Have you tried running "Spyware Blaster" on your system? If not, you can get it here: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html What it does is installs itself in the background and prevents anything that it recognizes from being installed, or reinstalled once Spybot or Ad Aware (or whatever) removes it. Just like Spybot S&D, and Ad Aware, you have to keep it updated, but it's sole purpose is to keep spy crap from being reinstalled. This program is also free, and recommended by the folks at Spybot (see the "Immunize" section of the Spybot program). Another thing I discovered is if you simply "Logoff" your OS and do not turn the computer (CPU) off when not in use, spyware will reinstall themselves while you aren't logged in - regardless of what you're running to prevent trouble. So, if you have to leave the CPU turned on, don't log out until someone else can log in immediately. Otherwise, turn the CPU off when you're not using it. My 2 cents... Nomad888
  13. As a child, I would lash out and stomp my feet and smack and punch anything in reach. Then I learned that my Mother and Father would hit back and punish me in other ways. So I learned that such a tantrum is not a good idea. As a teenager, I'd tell people off and shake my fist at them. Then I learned that others would retaliate in some way that I didn't like. In a couple of instances, it made an enemy out of a friend. Still not a good idea. As an adult, I assess the situation and formulate the appropriate response. In cases where I cannot accept the result, but can't do anything about it, I remind myself that vengence belongs to God (if there really is any vengence to be had in the first place). I've learned over the years that when God gets vengence, the result is better than ANYTHING that I could ever do (not to mention that it won't get me jailed either). My 2 cents... Nomad888

Um, and a partridge in a pear tree?? :D--> My 2 cents... Nomad888
  15. I'd say learn to lie like hell and keep a straight face, but they already have that one perfected. My 2 cents... Nomad888
