    Post Upgrade Issues

That usually only happens to people wearing green rings
  3. He is bordering on Trollism already. Don't feed him. He has no PM privileges. He's just going to twist what you say into something that you didn't say.
  4. The abused most certainly exist. The damage was and is real. If you are here to diminish the actions of twi leadership, this probably isn't the place for you.
  5. What were the other two? And where do the homeless fit in?
  6. Yes Harve and Linder started the communication. They registered here. I emailed them and asked for verification as many have registered as a leader of TWI but weren't. They said to call and ask for them at Headquarters. They were called and offered front page posting of any letter that they wanted published concerning the care of Mrs. Wierwille. They sent over a Word document. We published their letter negating some of the charges that JP Wierwille claimed. The impact of posting that was Enormous. The Way was acknowledging GreaseSpot Cafe as the place to disseminate information for the ex-wayfer and current wayfer community. They Validated us!! Since Harve was the main link, I think that was a big part of his demise on the Board. I'm sure the last thing that the Board wanted was to validate and admit that GS was the place to get information about TWI.
  7. mstar, I am truly jealous!! I'd love to meet Arlo someday. Instead of playing Alice's Restaurant Massacre on the radio show, I played all the songs on the other side of the album. I don't want a pickle....
  8. You really are a Turkey expert. My first thanksgiving after my wife left was an interesting one. Some friends were going to come over and we were going to have a feast. I was in charge of the turkey (Bad Move). Thanksgiving morning, I called one of the friend's that were going to come over. I asked what time I should take the bird out of the freezer. She laughed, swore, cackled and finally said the bird should have been taken out on tuesday and that we better make other plans for the main course. I assured her that it would be ready. She assured me that it would be impossible. I told her to plan being over and I would deliver a cooked turkey. She laughed some more and hung up Everyone came over in the mid afternoon to a house filled with the aroma of cooked turkey. My friend was very amazed. She was convinced that I was either making up the story or I found a restaurant to sell me a cooked turkey. We all ate. It wasn't the best tasting turkey, but we ate. She took me in the kitchen and had to know how I did it. I pulled out this contraption from under the counter. It was a long slender device with a heating element. I explained that I used this to defrost the refrigerator. When I got off the phone, I looked around for possibilities and stumbled across this in the garage. It won out over a glue gun, charcoal briquettes, and an acetylene torch. I simply put this into the cavity of the turkey for about an hour. Not only did it thaw, but it cooked most of the turkey at the same time. I put it in the oven to brown the skin!!
  9. Thank you for the well wishes. Another year older, hopefully wiser. The company let us out of work early yesterday, I presume because it's my birthday. The Beatles put together a new special on the History Channel yesterday ;) A friend of mine provided cake and ice cream that was within my caloric range. It was a very nice day. Waysider -- I have got to search You Tube more often, I've not heard that song by Rory before.
  10. Brobdingnagian adj, Gigantic, enormous. John Lynn's ego is brobdingnagian.

    JFK

I was watching an episode of MadMen today, the episode took place from Nov 22 - 24th 1963. It was impacting seeing Chet Huntley, David Brinkley and Walter Cronkite reporting the events of those days. To this day, I remember the events. I was in school and the principal came over the loudspeaker. She informed us that the President had been shot. She then put the microphone next to a radio and we all listened with great intensity. The class was silent and focused. Many were crying. All of us helpless. Then we were told that he was dead. Camelot had ended. The principal then called me to the office. I had never been called to the office. I went down terrified. When I got to the office, my sister was standing there sobbing. My cousin had called the school to have us come home, my mother went into labor after hearing the news. We had to help take care of my other brother and sister while my Dad brought my Mom to the hospital. The next day, my Brother Joe was born. The news of the day overshadowed his birth. My father made us lunch, cream of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. We were riveted to the TV and saw Oswald killed as we ate. My siblings didn't really get it. I knew that there was much talk about Oswald and Russia and Communism and Marxism. I remember riding my bike that weekend and everything was closed, the nation was mourning. I think of it often, One of three tragic assassinations in the 60's
  12. Didn't one of the members of Good Seed go to jail for fraud?
  13. you aren't breaking any rules. Sometimes just venting is all you need.
  14. Brainfixed -- if you feel you get helpful info here, great. If you don't then maybe you need to go elsewhere. Neither is Telling you what to do. Both are giving you choices. The methods by which you are given that message varies. Welcome to Freedom outside the gates of TWI. You are welcome to hate or love this place, just as with any place or person, your brain is now under your control, not TWI's. Make choices; Get angry; Leave this site or stay. It is all in your power -- that is the real Key, it is all up to you.
  15. They made the bookstore public a few years ago. I will say that the site is a lot better than the old one, which I understand was originally designed in the 90's.
  16. No one likes being trashed. The trashing that goes on at other sites is going to happen. As Linda explained so well, I am going to be an object of criticism. It is an unfortunate side effect of the type of discussion site that I run. There were instances of My real name and my address being published. They were removed quickly. The issue at hand is presenting the other side of the story and a place to discuss it. All the other stuff is fluff. I'm happy to present the other stuff and will take the criticism if the other side of the story of TWI gets told and hopefully can help people get the answers that they need.
  17. I was driving home this morning tuned into the local station that plays "Alternative" music. They tend to play the same songs over and over (Sometime around Midnight is a good example, great song but tiring after the 405th listen) Well they played a song I hadn't heard before with a strong percussion theme. It was called, Percussion Gun by the White Rabbits. Here it is. Reminds me of Cozy Powell's, Dancing with the Devil. <b></b> <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IClBpch9vmM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IClBpch9vmM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IClBpch9vmM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
  18. I've not been able to ever find a suitable solution to the treatment of new visitors to this site. But do we need one? As stated in this thread, new folks get everything from a virtual cup of coffee; to the harsh and many times unkind comments from some of our more curmudgeonly elders. The "kind" welcomes seem the way to go. But some of the harsher responses do challenge from post one. I've come to the conclusion that the whole range has it's place. Someone freshly out of the TWI environment carry "Way Think" with them. Are we here to socialize? Are we here to tell the other side of the story? Both are part of the make-up of the forums. Unlike TWI, we allow the range and each of us chooses the opinions we like and dislike. In a way, we lay out a range of viewpoints and within that a range of presentations. I think where we fail as a community, is educating the new visitors on the range of choices available. Speaking your mind is accepted, but the new person may be overwhelmed with that concept. They have been in a bubble, told how to think. Suddenly they are immersed in a world of divergent opinions and criticisms. It is like transferring from a private school to a public school. All that is familiar is removed and now they have to wander the halls looking for their first class and can't find room #2-45B. Some will give them a map, others will let them let them find it on their own and some will just bump into them to see how they will react. All are legit, just different approaches. Hopefully all will lead them to a point of looking at TWI with some critical thinking. Just my opinion.
  19. I knew I forgot to do something yesterday. carapace: n. a shell; a protective covering.

    Aerosmith

I can get some much needed sleep tonight knowing that Steven Tyler ISN"T leaving Aerosmith!!!! What a contrived excuse for a story
  21. Skulduggery: n. devious, dishonest, or unscrupulous behavior or activity. John Lynn and CES/STFI offer spiritual skulduggery to their followers. Example, instead of calling their brand of prophecy a spiritual evil, they chose to say it was ill conceived.
  22. Chris Geer, not only a fine bus driver and pimp for VP, was one of his bodyguards and carried heat.
  23. Today's word is: soporific. adj. causing sleep; something that causes sleep Chris Geer's Foundational class is soporific.
  24. Waydale was only in operation for, I believe, 18 months. It had an impact still felt today. It closed 9 years ago. It put the crack in TWI's glass house. Someone asked earlier about the records from the trial. Much is available from the courts. I had the documents, most of which is legalese. Nothing earth shattering. The summary judgement says it all. Anything that could be sealed, were. TWI does their best to make sure that is part of any settlement. So the depositions of the TWI board, including Martindale, will not see the light of day. If I remember the sequence of events, Martindale was fired a few days after his deposition. That would be a document to see, but we won't. In the nine years since, many people have been able to sort out their lives and the role that TWI played in it. Dealing and overcoming the damage has been a daily challenge for many, but the healing happens. The problem of the TWI mindset continues in groups like, CES/STFI; CFFM; River Road and many others. Hopefully we can put cracks in some more glass houses. Mr. Allen spearheaded this great mission.
