  1. No. None were presidents under our current Constitution. One last hint: one (though not the first) was a BIG signer of the Declaration. George
  2. The funny thing is that I remember Jackie Mason, years ago, telling the joke, "Why are JEWISH divorces so expensive? They're worth it!" New one soon. George
  3. Must be. It was only a miniseries, but it was certainly a well-known TV show. George

  6. No. This is a tough one, as the person is not well known. He was instrumental in getting Maryland into the Revolution, but he was not a signer of the Declaration of Independence. I'll give this another day or two. Let's say that if you name ANY of the Presidents in this era, you win. Note: these presidents were not elected by popular vote but were appointed by Congress. Two of them WERE signers of the Declaration. George

  11. Before our current Constitution was ratified, the United States was defined by the Articles of Confederation. Who was the first President of that government? Bonus question: The Articles were in effect from 1781 to 1789. How many men served as President, during that time? George

  15. My favorite line from "City Slickers." "You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!" George
  16. Yes it does. Lovers' Concerto. I remember the scene in "Mr. Holland's Opus" where Holland plays the Bach to show his kids the origin of the pop tune. George
  17. I didn't watch the show, so this is a guess: Game of Thrones? George
  18. Caddyshack? (Sound like Dangerfield lines...) George
  19. This sounds like the story of Xerxes whipping the tide to demonstrate his mastery over nature. Maybe Canute did the same thing, with his real purpose to show how INEFFECTUAL he was against nature? George
