Don't forget that she (at least some time ago) looked younger than she was. :P--> George

Two ideas come to mind immediately, though I doubt either is correct. Let's try "The Passion of the Christ" first. George

"Kodachrome" by Paul Simon. They would bleep out the word "crap" on a couple radio stations in Chicago when the song first came out. Don't know why I love you; don't know why I care. George

CK, It's not about surfing. My last post gave another way of saying the title. Hiway29 actually gave the title in an earlier post. George

You are correct, sir!! George

You're up, Trefor! George

In that case, my clue is two words: ...Green Lantern... This is the only song I know that has my favorite hero in it (well, except for the theme song to the "Superman-Aquaman Hour of Adventure" cartoon show). I'll post more if no one gets it, but I bet it goes pretty fast. George

Sometimes I "google." That's why I didn't give this one away. If that's how Pirate got it, then shame, SHAME!! He might have known, however. It's not as if no one's heard of rosemary Clooney! Your other clip is easily recognizable. "Perambulate, don't sprint." George

Reminds me of my mom. If she went to answer the phone, she always grabbed a CARTON of cigarettes on the way, just in case the call was for her! George

Actually...I do! George

Pirate is correct. George

I believe that only the bottom line is Chas's signature. I think the other is a quote. she'll have to chime in to let us know. George

I looked it up. It wasn't Dinah Shore. I'm familiar with the actual singer, but I can't think of something else now that would provide another clue. Great little tune, though. It reminds me of Ecclesiastes 13:3-7. George

Is that "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" by Vicki Lawrence? George
-
Houston...maybe. Dallas...too darn far. Sorry. George

Is the three VP's a new wrinkle? It reminds of me of the expansion of the BOT to five immediately following the POP. That lasted, what, two years? George

And let's not forget all the word changes to make the songs "accurate." While I understand that idea, it made it more like "working the song" to find "the original text." For example, "one, true God" in "Rise up, O Men of God" must have been "King of Kings" to rhyme with "lesser things." George

Since I've had a reasonable amount of musical training, I can lead songs pretty well. My TC would often ask me to pick a song and lead it. I would often pick one that we hadn't sung (or sung often) before to help the fellowship learn some new stuff. One of the Corps grads even complimented me for it. Well, in my "exit interview" a couple months later, one of the things I got reamed for was "egotistically" leading songs that no one else knew. The Corps grad, present at the meeting, was silent. --> George

I feel like I'm on "Wheel of Fortune" with all but one letter turned over. Still not getting it; I must not have seen this one. George

Just another (hopefully) helpful tidbit: several years ago, I saw a commercial for a product called Topol, a tooth polish specifically designed for smokers. The actor took a puff on a cigarette and blew through a cheesecloth handkerchief. He showed the hideous, brown ring and exclaimed, "If cigarette smoke can do this to this handkerchief, think what it's doing to your teeth." I thought, "TEETH???? What's it doing to your LUNGS???!!" Have a nice day. George

The Ventures are indeed Americans and did perform a "cover" of Telstar, but the big hit in 1962 was the version by hte Tornados, a British group. The Tornados I believe the Ventures' biggest hit was Hawaii 5-0. George
-
If I remember correctly, "Telstar" is often referred to as the beginning of the "British Invasion." Wasn't it the first British pop hit to make #1 in the States? (This is two years pre-Beatles.) George

I don't, either. Attractiveness is obviously a matter of personal taste. Galen didn't say that ONLY big breasts make a woman attractive, just that big breasts make a woman MORE attractive. Personally, I tend to agree. I know a lot of gorgeous women with smallish breasts. They'd probably be MORE gorgeous with larger ones. I don't expect everyone to agree with my personal tastes, but I'm sure there are those who do. George

"The Manhattan Project"? George
