Like I said, the teachers weren't trained to deal with cookoo kids.

ex...they obviously weren't trained in what to do. It's a whole 'nother degree...99.9% of the teachers don't get the training lest they be special ed. teachers...it's a whole new set of rules which aren't usually in the regular classroom... inclusion... that's another problem about to happen. teacher's aides are just required to "show up" to sit with a special needs kid in a regular classroom...they aren't trained in a master's degree as a moderate special needs teacher. That little girl...had a major problem...I'm surprised she was in a regular classroom!!! She probably won't be for long...they'll ship her out, and rightfully so...

P.S. Then I'd send her and her mother to therapy, because what that little girl did for what, 23 minutes? ...says there is a much deeper problem inside. Lots of family problems, I presume...i.e. too much tv, neglect, copycatting inappropriate behaviors at home, physical abuse, emotional abuse...mom/dad acting out similar irrate behaviors... Could be a mirade of problems...not for me to say. I think, in a regular classroom, most regular teachers are ill equipped and inexperienced to handle problem children like this one. Hence...they called the police...makes sense to me, but, I woulda had her on the floor after her first incident with me.

If she were in my special ed. classroom years ago...I would have restrained her after her first strike at me. That is UNACCEPTABLE. No paddling...just restraining on the floor til she calmed down and her mother came to get her out of there. That is, or was in my teaching time, the correct response.

Yesterday I was minding my own business on a grocery line...quiet afternoon...when the man next to me's cell phone, set at BLAST, rang...and made me jump a foot high!!! Scared the crap outta me...then with loudest voice possible yells into his phone during his conversation... Rude, inconsiderate, obnoxious and self serving if you ask me... Have you seen teens yet working with their white wires hanging from them? They're wearing ipods and talking at you at the same time. This world has become pretty sick.

I live in a transient community. Since I've been in my little cottage...I have been watching all my friends move away due to the rising costs of life. Perhaps that's why I wanna leave too... I feel like I'm being left behind!!! As expensive as it is to live in this area, it is cheaper for me to live here than anywhere else...I have the "in's" on everything...so, I am blessed, yet feel cursed at the same time. Lindy...travelling...I haven't really been anywhere in a few years now...perhaps I should plan a roadtrip... Perhaps on Saturday I should look at 7 acres with a house on a river up in Vermont... Gypsying...should be a real verb

The other day, while putting in new carpet in my office, my rentee told me I was a gypsy. My mom used to call me a gypsy. When I bought my little house and starting burrowing roots, I became much more stable. It's been 9 years in this little cottage and my gypsy roots are kicking up. I just wanna roam...I miss going to the roa and wow. I just wanna up and go for awhile...stability has it's merits but so does gypsying around the world. I was just wondering if any fellow gs'ers has the spiritual gypsy gene... It seems alot of us have been in this cafe sippin' java for some years now...

Small world...you betcha!!! About 12 years ago I was in a woman's group therapy anger/grief workshop recovering from leaving a cult and a marriage. It was a weekend gig at a camp...lots of emoting from everyone. I live in the middle of nowhere. There was another ex-way in there. She knew exactly what I was spewing about. She avoided me most of the time. She was only in for 2 years as opposed to my 13 years...I'd have avoided me too. Hey...about 8 years ago I had an ex-way person from New York( that was helping Vince Finnegan deal with reality) on my massage table!!!! Talk about small world LindaZ and all!!!! You betcha ;)-->

ahhhh...LindaZ....a kindred soul :)--> I wouldn't go to graceland...but, I did go to ground zero to pray my respects...I have walked Auschwitz... I never cried when vpw died...I didn't know him, nor ever worshipped him. Did you see those crowds and lines? Could you imagine not peeing for 24 hours? but needed water? What are these people thinking....very tight...very uncomfortable for my taste. I did see the eyes of the crowds tho...and do see the depth in them. Perhaps that alone helps explain it to me.
