  1. Just like the Hardee's commercial, I bet it's full of sit.
  2. The cool chair is alive and well and at home with me. If anyone has a lost chair, we'll put it on the prayer list and maybe it will be saved. :D
  3. Aww, y'all are sweet! Friar Duck sends his regards and said he had a good time. What do monks wear under their robe? I'll never tell! :D Rascal, Bowtwi, I'll have your CD's out to you hopefully by the end of the week. I'll keep you guys posted on the Christmas one. Looking forward to next year in a slightly warmer time or climate!
  4. Weather report for the weekend: Upper 60's during the day, upper 40's at night. Clear and sunny all weekend. The caves are a constant 58 degrees so keep that in mind if you plan on spelunking. Probably won't be much fall color around here but it will still be very nice. Looking forward to it!
  5. Hmm, wonder if it's too late to borrow my brother's nose flute. Then again, maybe that's not such a good idea.
  6. Ok, I just found out my boyfriend has that weekend off so he and I officially get to come. I probably won't be there until late afternoon Friday. What can I bring? Someone mentioned s'mores. I want to make sure we get to do that, he's never had a s'more. I know, I know, his momma didn't love him. <_<
  7. HCW, CES promoted Momentus very heavily in the late 90's after the Board took the class and got tremendous breakthroughs in their own life. However, they backed off when they were told about others taking the class and having severe problems and reactions. My experience with those guys is that they tend to jump on the bandwagon rather quickly if it's something that's beneficial to them without really weighing the consequences. Also, the promotion was faulty. People were told it would change their lives, that if you wanted to experience breakthroughs and get real about your life, you needed to take this. I even heard of people thinking that it would be like marriage counseling. God help them. There was a subtle undercurrent of, you've got to take this to be more godly, like us. Nothing obvious, like TWI, and nobody bullied anyone into taking it, but for people who were involved with TWI, some of the old mindsets would pop up in those situations. I thought about taking Momentus because I heard the hype, but honestly, the idea of taking something that could possibly be that revealing scared the cr*p out of me. I'm like Groucho, I'll keep my sins and let God deal with me accordingly. The leaders of CES (at least M#$k Gr!@ser) seem to thing they can recreate TWI in their ministry, only without the sins. I've heard them say it in meetings. They strongly support the "baby and the bathwater" analogy. Hey, Hitler was a baby once.
  8. balogna, cheese and potato chip sandwiches Rice-a-Roni cream of mushroom soup in a mug fresh baked chocolate chip cookies with ice cold milk cream of wheat breakfast for supper
  9. I listened to the broadcast last night. After you called, Cynic, I was surprised that there weren't other ex-Way people calling. I thought it was interesting that Pastor Cook remarked that the phone lines weren't nearly as busy that night as most other nights. He said that maybe John's views were too controversial for some to comment on. Overall, I thought the show went well. John does, indeed, present his case very well and very confidently. I appreciate the fact that he acknowledged Pastor Cook's views several times when they differed from John's.
  10. I nominate former FEMA director Michael Brown. He'd ruin the whole place in about two weeks. :D-->
  11. Steve L, Amazing post. Very intuitive as to the mind of CES. So many subtleties that cannot be fully explained, but are there in the back of your (and my) mind. I have heard it said that the greatest fear we have is the fear of the unknown. Who can completely know God, or fully comprehend His power or His ways?
  12. I checked out one of the cabins today at Jellystone. It was an efficiency, the smallest they have, but it was clean and had all the basics. There is a two burner stove in all the cabins, but no ovens in any of them. There is a microwave, small fridge, coffeemaker, and toaster. No TV's either, so if there's a game you can't miss, better bring a portable. Outside of the cabins there is another table and chairs as well as a grill. Plenty of fire rings around the camps and several places where you can buy firewood. There is a small lodge with a grocery that carries basic food supplies, milk, bread, etc. and a big TV there in the lodge. There is lots of playground equipment so kids will have plenty to do. Mammoth Cave is easy to get to from there, about 15 minutes. There are also other attractions between the campground and the park, as well as all the tacky souvenier shops you care to visit. Overall, Jellystone is clean and well-maintained. I am looking forward to staying there and seeing everybody. David, I sure hope you can make it this year. I'm looking forward to some pickin' and grinnin'. Any more questions please feel free to ask.
  13. I'll try to find out about stoves in the cabins when I'm there Monday.
  14. er, ah, sorry, Jar, I got it. --> But check with them. There may still be cabins available. You can also put your name on a "will call" list if someone cancels. There are other places close by also. I'll see what I can find out this weekend.
  15. David, A word fitly spoken, my friend. I did limit the bellyachin comment to those who post here who are looking. And biblical standards for behavior will always be higher than society's standards.
  16. Dot, You crack me up! I see your "real man" scenario very clearly. Likeaeagle, Like Belle said, hang in there. After several years of internet dating, and hanging around Christian men who believed God would bring them a blonde nympho who prays and cleans house, I met my sweetheart in ordinary circumstances (at work) without much effort at all. The thing that I finally had to realize after kissing a lot of frogs, is that as long as I kept my heart and my eyes open, there will always, always be another opportunity to meet someone. And if you saw the thread with Cowgirl and Goey's pictures, you will know that when you find someone who will look at you the way those two do, you will have found a treasure beyond words. For all you single guys at Greasespot: If you are looking to meet someone, QUITCHERBELLYACHIN! Some of the finest caliber of women you could hope to meet are right here, posting and chatting and navigating the same maze of life that you are. Send a private topic to someone whose posts have interested you. Get real about what you want and meet a real woman. Come to the Weenie Roast or organize some event that will put you in contact with several amazing women. Set your face to the wind and move forward. Go forth and date.
  17. Looks like the two major choices that people have voted for so far are: glad they were in and glad to be out; and regret ever being in TWI. I could have said I regretted my time in TWI and even today, could easily look at having wasted my 20's and 30's in TWI and offshoots, but I have to ask myself where I would be if I had never been involved in TWI. I really don't think I would have gained great fame and fortune, and I believe, for my own life, that I would not have become as independent as I am today. I choose not to take up much of my time now looking back and lamenting what was, which I cannot change. There were good times and bad, but mostly a learning and growing process for me. I do, however, deeply regret the pain and suffering that many people who post here at GS went through, and deeply regret that I had little or no idea of many of the things going on at that time. Had I known then what I know now, things would have changed for me much more quickly. I also understand people's needs to vent and discuss and act as "town criers" of things that happened (and still happen) in TWI. It is a healing process that happens differently for each individual and for many, it takes the form of warning others at every opportunity, and there should be warnings. New people are always coming to GS, and those who are the most vocal and knowledgeable about the evil perpetrated in TWI should always have a voice. My only connection to former TWI'ers now is through GS and a few friends I made while involved with CES, which I am no longer a part of. I greatly enjoyed the Weenie Roast last year and meeting a few GSers in person. I plan on doing that again this year.
  18. Bringing this back to the top. I do hope we get a decent showing of "Bluegrassers". ( I know, we Kentuckians don't call ourselves that.) :D-->
  19. You two look like you belong together.
  20. How big a shadow is it? ;)--> :o-->
  21. I thought this was a thread about body shapes. I'm a pear.
  22. Evan,I started "smelling" things at CES two years ago. I don't know how things are going there now, but there was a direction that I just didn't like and although I can't put my finger on one specific problem, there are little things that add up to a repeat of some areas of TWI.
  23. My sweetie and I will be there for the roast. We'll try to get one of the cabins, but it depends on how many are available in a week or so. I think we'll try to drive up to that area Labor Day weekend and check out the place. If anyone needs to know anything specific about the park, pt me and I'll try to find out for you. I'm really looking forward to this again!
  24. Maybe he writes a check to himself. Before taxes, of course.
  25. Okay, I'll be the bad guy. Zix, I wish you well on your writing endeavor. It sounds like fun and something you would enjoy doing. I'll try to vote for you later. On the personal side... Having posted some info on my personal life as a single female and opening that area of my life up here for discussion, I will assume by posting some info on your personal life that you have opened the door up for discussion as well. You will not agree with some of what I have to say. Others will. I do wish you the best in the development of this relationship, but please, please, please, try to step back a little and see the bigger picture. You're just out of a marriage, she's still in one (as in, legally, she's married to someone else), you're living together in whatever capacity that entails, (does she work? are you supporting both of you? do you work?) How long have you two known each other? It can't be all that long, you were married last year. You gotta know that the circumstances under which you are starting this new relationship are "iffy". Certainly, you two could be an exception to how many relationships like yours end up. Only you two know your hearts and all the details. I'm just saying, take care of yourself.
