  1. Dooj, I have a funny about this... I had clicked on your link yesterday and was going to see if there was one in my area but my doorbell rang as I was waiting on the page to load, so I left it. Gramma Mary, my beloved 85 year old neighbor, had come by for a visit and while we were talking she started telling me about these food packages she and her sister get at one of the local churches and how much food is in them. This week, though, they got a huge bag of some chicken parts that she was not familiar with. We determined that they were chitterlings and she did not know how to fix them. I told her we'd just look up some recipes. We walked into my office and there on my computer was your links and Mary exclaimed that Angel Food Ministries is who they purchase their packages from! :) After getting her a couple of recipes for fixin' her chitlin's I had a chuckle to myself because those are the nastiest smelling things in the world and I know to stay away from her house for the next week because I can NOT stand the smell. I would, however, love to be a fly on the wall when SHE discovers for the first time how awful the smell is.... and to see Granpa Bert's reaction.... I'm betting he will not even taste them!
  2. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, RHINO!!! Sorry I missed it, but I assure you .... I went way over the two drink limit in your honor this week-end at the Styx concert.
  3. This is just a really high stakes game of Liar's Poker only it's OUR money they are playing with! I for one, do not like it! My daddy's bank never made bad loans or softened their standards and they are fine as long as people don't panic and start running the bank based on the bozos making the news.
  4. I had forgotten that TWI was incorporated in AZ, too. Goey had posted financial information a while back that showed that, I believe. I wonder if TWI knew about it and covered for this guy like they did so many others.
  5. Pictures! We want pictures and Details!!! Please let the jealous folks who couldn't come live vicariously through you. :)

    LiftedUp's birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GARTH!!! I hope it was awesome!!
  7. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GARTH!!! I hope it was awesome!!
  8. I find myself thinking things or reacting to situations that are knee jerk or "automatically" what I would have done while involved in TWI, yet utterly illogical for/to someone who was never involved with TWI or an organization like them. I consider that "way brain". It is a way of thinking or behavior that is a parrot of what we were told should be the response so many times that it happens without my realizing it. Or something irritates the he11 out of me and I realize it's because of some lingering TWI doctrine that I want to, but haven't completely eradicated from my life. I consider "way brain" any undesirable behavior, thoughts, fears or personality traits I have that were acquired during my TWI years. YMMV
  9. I've been looking around, but can't find out for sure.
  10. Convicted molester, 74, gets 8 years in prison Snippets: Is that TWI? It's hard to tell the way they printed the name.
  11. I can not quit giggling over this. One of the links that Socks posted says the clip had over 100,000 views on YouTube before being pulled. My family and friends have gotten a good chuckle out of it and say they now realize why I needed so many years of therapy.... especially after we pulled up a clip of the choir in their snazzy robes.
  12. <---- giggling uncontrollably...... can not type..... :jump:
  13. I broke out my favorite socks in honor of your day, Friend! I HOPE IT WAS A GREAT ONE!

I remember all too well those very long, very hot days with no power and feel for anyone with young 'uns having to go through that. So very, very glad to hear y'all are okay. We're still missing folks, though. George, isn't it fun getting to know your neighbors like that. We did the same thing during Charlie, Ivan, Frances, Jean, etc.... my garage tends to become the gathering spot for my street.
  15. Awesome, Raf! Notta, I gotta ( ) headache, but will put my noggin' to it. You really need it tonight, though, don't you?
  16. Or maybe put some clips up on YouTube.... but, honestly, nothing beats being there live. Hopefully, it'll be successful enough to add more shows. :)

    Casey Anthony

I hope you're right, Jim. She did reject the immunity agreement.
  18. Some of the other folks are from famous bands. One of the guitar players is from Quiet Riot. The electric violin player and the sax player are, too, I just can't remember who they said. I thought about DMiller watching the electric violin.... that guy totally rocked the house. Super awesome show!
  19. Went to this concert last night. AWESOME!! AWESOME!! AWESOME!!! A friend got free tickets for us, but if it comes to your area, I highly recommend it!! You'll most likely notice some of the names of the band members. Incredible musicians and great composition to showcase their amazing talents. The crowd in Orlando was a smorgasbord of ages. It was really very cool to see spans of generations singing along to some of the greatest music ever. One of our buddies from Woodstock said the singer doing Janis Joplin's songs did Janis better than Janis did.

    Can I share?

excie, that is so cool! How very nice of you to do that for her and how awesome that you have such keen "finder" skills! Heartwarming!
  21. This totally smacks of the egotism, judgementalism and intolerance that you ask about Geisha. It's reminiscent of my attitude during my TWI days. Are you, Geisha, tolerant? I tend to think so based on what I've seen here. Like Abi, I see someone who really cares about people and who is considerate of her audience while not wavering on her personal belief system. I think that "to each his own" is more of my philosophy. If whatever you're doing works FOR YOU - Great! I'm doing what works FOR ME and it may not be the same thing that works for anyone else. I enjoy sharing ideas, but I abhor being told that I'm lacking meekness and full of sin because I don't subscribe to the same belief system. I, frankly, do see it more in so-called Christians than I do with any other group, but that's just what I'm exposed to and does not make it universal.
  22. :) Thanks, Geisha. I appreciate your post. I disgree with your viewpoint, but I appreciate your explanation. Your belief hinges on believing God as your interpret him to be in the Bible and upon accepting Jesus as lord in one's life for going to heaven. You present, although very nicely, the options of believing as you believe or going to hell (no matter how it's defined). So, who, in your belief is going to hell? Atheists? Jews? Buddhists? What if Buddhist, Hindu, Pagan, Christian, Jew, Pantheist, Mayan, etc. all actually believe in the same "Spirit" or "God"?
