Very few games at the BOB (aka Chase Field) would find a walk up fan unable to buy very good seats. For once I agree with that big mouth former WS co-MVP with the Dbacks... Curt Schilling, who called for making known ALL of the names of those who've gotten caught using performance enhancing drugs...

btw, no thanks is necessary. I stay up way too late and am on line usually. It was a joy to share some of my recollections from when my daughter was born. I'm sure we all have the utmost confidence that Raf will be an amazing dad!

Ain't THAT the truth! Amen! (to each of your points WG)

Few women, that is, except on TV and in the movies... :) Linda's right... that second pic is something that would make an incredible painted portrait.

Ummm... I think that was the department of transportation (of the state of Texas).

Very cool. Thanks Mstar!

Nothing... that's just hand gesturing...

Well, I FINALLY got an HD DVR (free from Dish Network... for two more years' committment)... but Dish doesn't yet carry the MLB channel.

the problem must have been temporary... it's working for me now...

Okay... I posted the link to a couple of my facebook friends' pages... will let you know if I hear anything back about them finding themselves...
-
Yeah... I know people who were there... I'll see if they can find themselves...

The article also said that Gary reads Suze Orman's book on personal finances... I wonder if he knows she's of the lesbian persuasion? Yes... I see Gary's email address now... tnks.

The only email address I saw on the page with the article is for the reporter who wrote the story. And newspaper websites typically want people to consider buying photos.

It's difficult to describe just how cool this video is... Definitely a wonderful blessing. Thank you Linda.

No, noise wasn't/isn't the problem. There are property tax issues that would bore people for me to go into here (and it's not pertinent to this discussion)... otherwise, it was an interesting addition to the neighborhood. My daughter (now 19) went to school, from Kindergarten through 5th grade at the school with the playground that pilots sometimes buzzed... yes, they have a flight school and several other businesses on the East side of the runway... and homeowners, some of whom have hangers attached to their homes, on the West side. And my understanding of the Payne Stewart incident is that when the cabin depressurized, the oxygen supply system didn't kick in... and everyone was dead within minutes (asphixiation) while the autopilot flew until it ran out of fuel.

I used to live less than a mile from one of those airports (Stellar Airpark, Chandler, AZ)... but noise isn't as much of a problem there... I used to live only a couple of blocks to the west (to the right of the area pictured) from here... click this link to read the captions where the pic is actually posted. well... it didn't like my pic URL so it wouldn't post... but you can see it if you click the link above... And Linda... that's why I mentioned about having something to block the noise... this pic was taken directly above a school... which arrogant pilots often buzzed... but that's a different issue altogether.

The 9th corps was in residence before 1980 and I believe I had heard it from Loy's mouth before 1980... but can't be sure.

One more reason for wusses like me to just NOT GET IN an airliner! I imagine if I lived next to a runway without something to block the noise, I'd go deaf pretty quickly! All in all, compared to other incidents in the NYC area with planes going down, THIS was amazingly NON-tragic. I'm very thankful for the outcome. I don't know how Sully can be honored enough, yet maintain his humanity without getting too big for his captain's hat.

No his dad worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. in Bartlesville, OK... and executive or accountant or something like that. I met his parents one year when they were out here for spring training baseball... that was also when Tony Phillips played for the Oakland A's. Loy's parents were nice people... not the driven nut bag that their son turned into.

What we got, about four weeks until pitchers and catchers report? btw, it hit 80 degrees at my house today! (not far from the Giants' spring training site)

I doubt anyone's surprised that Rickey was elected on the first ballot... but how about Rice making it finally?

Honolulu? Did you get to visit with Roz or Lisa?
