Today is ELIMINATION day... for the Dbacks. <_< No one to blame but themselves. I hope your Dodgers do well in the playoffs. :)

Dbacks now only 2.5 games behind Dodgers.... it's no wonder that Hiway29 is being humble in looking toward a possible playoff chance for the Dodgers. It's certainly NOT a lock for them yet. The Dbacks pretty much have to win the rest of their games and rely on the Dodgers to lose a few... ... the scenario STILL favors the Dodgers however!

I have NOT been logged off of the site (unexpectedly) today. I figured the removal of the alternative "skin" for GSC was done to remove a potential cause for the problem. It may have worked. :) I still prefer the OTHER view (but not getting logged off).

Thanks for the info... Not too many years ago, I thought this kind of thing with LDS was used to promote fear mongering. However, since Katrina, (actually immediately after Katrina) I was able to see it differently.

And I'm sure there are plenty of variations on that theme that makes it extremely difficult for people to evacuate... which is what I was getting at when I mentioned things being more complicated than when washes flood during summer thunderstorms here in AZ. That is a nice thought... but even with a dozen chainsaws, a heavy crane is usually necessary in situations like that. I worked one summer with a tree care firm... during the AZ monsoon season, there are usually at least one or two storms that down trees on homes... Brandon Webb got win 21 and the Dbacks are ONLY one game UNDER .500. Dodgers lost, so Dbacks ONLY 3.5 games behind.

It helps to be on a team with decent offensive prowess! The 17-2 is impressive. Cliff Lee's 22-2 is impressive. But I gotta be impressed by Brandon Webb's 20-7 (or is it 8?) and Haren's 15-8. Tonight, Haren threw a complete game shut out behind a feeble 2 run offense. It's fine if that only happens occasionally, but for the Dbacks, it's MOST of the time. Webb goes for win 21 tomorrow night. Then Thursday, Johnson goes for win 296 (i think) against Tim Lincecum... I don't expect the Dbacks to score much, if anything on Thursday... Several of those guys should have already been inducted. And Torre has to be a lock as a manager, even if he never gets in as a player. But Wills and Tiant? What's up with it not having happened yet?

Glad to hear it. And if you have a safe ladder, it's probably not that difficult to re-aim your dish... if you have someone monitoring the signal strength on the set up screen while you (or someone) moves the dish... of course, you need to know the general direction to start with. :) btw, in the retirement community I live in, for the first 2.5 years I was here, we had semi-regular power outages due to aging electrical infrastructure. Those times were the most conducive to getting to know neighbors... which is a consolation... given the inconvenience, a nice consolation.

I think it's probably a bit more complicated in the case of evacuation orders... for some people anyway. With the stupid motorist law, the situations are significantly simple, cut and dried (pun intended) and therefore not likely to generate legal challenges to the assessment of rescue costs.
