    Welcome to the game JayDee!

I suppose we should wait for Raf, but I know that Gibson played Benjamin Martin in "The Patriot."

Do you know what to do, now?

    George

Didn’t know it was a game. Hope I didn’t mess anything up for you guys. Just happened on the question and saw Rev. Graham Hess. I really enjoy M. Knight Shyamalan films.

I don't share that wish with you.

Though I regret some of my choices and some of what I did after leaving twi, I am who I am now because of those mistakes. That sentiment does not negate the notion that cults make merchandise of their followers/members.

I am tremendously thankful that I figured out that I needed to leave and actually did. And that the ensuing years have represented growth and development of insight I wouldn't have had otherwise.

Good for you Rocky. I left 31 years ago.

Wow, Mark, this is such a subtle deception that I succumbed to.  I didn't even ponder it until this very moment.  Nowhere in the bible does it say we take his place - I just checked - but I went along with this because of this verse:  Co 5:20  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

What a stretch from praying on behalf of Christ to taking his place!  None of us could do that, even if we are doing those greater works than he did.  The most we can be is part of the body.  WOW!!!  Thank you so, so much.

Isn’t it great when that lightbulb goes on over your head! :anim-smile:

    Thanks JayDee........yeah, me too.

There is something really insidious about a cult leader who pontificated from afar........seducing others to his evil ways and raking in the money.

No transparency of manner of life, the finances, or documented history.  Even his India trip and those damn snow stories were all fabrications of a demented, deceptive agenda.....which opens skepticism of all things wierwille AND his glassy-eyed brownshirts.

After all this, anyone who follows the newest splinter group, R&R...........has institutionalized imprinted in their brain cells.

I don’t believe there was ever a moment of real Christian service in his life or in that of the BOTS. The R&R group have the same “DNA” as their “father in the word”. Countless lives destroyed by their so called “ministries”. :nono5:

  5. I don’t know how JAL continues to reduce the words of Jesus Christ to relative unimportance behind Paul’s letters to specific churches? I don’t get it.

I think JAL has “mirror, mirror, on the wall” syndrome. Only insert “who’s the greatest teacher of them all”.

  6. Hello Friends! As you know, belief in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to everlasting life (John 14:6). But did you know that in one sense, he is a divided highway, and both roads lead to glory? Are you aware that the vast majority of Christians are being taught that most everything Jesus said is pertinent to us Christians today? Almost none of them recognize the biblical truth that God and Christ currently have two programs now showing, although the one that came on the air first is now temporarily held in abeyance until the next stage in the second program is completed.

Knowing what parts of the Bible are written TO WHOM is perhaps the most important principle there is in Scripture. We must understand which parts are TO ISRAEL—past, present, future, and what parts are TO CHRISTIANS—present and future, or the Bible will not make sense. This is one reason why Satan so vigorously attacks the Truth about the Secret of The One Body. If one misses this vital truth, many other indispensable biblical truths fall like dominoes.

Please come to the party this Wednesday evening, August 1 at 8 p.m. EDT and enjoy the glorious truth of God’s wonderful Word regarding this extremely crucial topic we must grasp in order to live a powerful and fulfilled Christian life.

For anybody with enough courage to educate (and think for) themselves, yet still preferring to start by reading what other "probably a little better educated than certain folk here" have to say on the matter:

Who determines what level of education qualifies someone to comment on a subject like dispensationalism? Do you mean someone like a “Pikes Peak Seminary” graduate? Or like other offshoot ministries who continue to propound the same nonsense decade after decade?

Personally, I’m more concerned about what my Lord Jesus Christ had/has to say about spiritual matters than some intellectually lacking  know it all who took a 12 session class 40 years ago and pronounced themselves spokesmen for the “absent Christ”.

If dispensationalism is so vitally important to the body of Christ, why doesn’t it say so somewhere in scripture that “If you don’t look at My Words through this filter there’s going to be consequences”?  Or “You’re just not going to understand My heart for your life unless these time periods are understood”?

IMHO. And I think the bottom line is that’s what really matters. What “I think” about what the Lord says.

This is disgusting!  It churns my stomach to read this.  To think I was impressed at all the work VPW put into this book...

You’ll find that when DWBH tells you/us about these individuals, that he’s telling it like it is. No BS. He has no axe to grind. Just protecting people from the madness that is twi.

So, no, I have no dog in the fight, I will walk away from them when I am convinced they are false.

Hopefully the brick $h!t house won’t land to hard on you.

I wonder how many eyewitnesses to the multitude of crimes against members of the body of Christ it’s going to take to convince you the r&r folks are not legit? Or are you waiting for a personal assault?

But what it showed me was how easy it is to get off track, just like Eve did.

Adam was right there with her. She wasn’t alone in the deception and disobedience. He wasn’t off somewhere not knowing what was going on. It was a “team effort”. :nono5:

The second episode was on Jehovah Witnesses. The third one coming up on Tuesday, June 5, will feature several people from different groups. Which ones they are is not disclosed on the A&E website. I am eager to tune in and find out!

Watched both episodes. Brutally honest. Thanks for the heads up penworks.

Their efforts and approach are very similar to the initiatives of Clapp and Shroyer starting CFF.

Which were what? Just curious since you named these two. I remember a while back that Pawtucket said Shroyer helped quite a few people coming out of the stress of leaving twi. Your post is really insightful chockful.

Peggy, a dear friend and fellowship coordinator in Stillwater, OK for Rod and Jo Mart!ndale, passed away suddenly of heart complications in early September of 1997.  At the time, I was the limb coordinator of Oklahoma and was jolted by this news.  Death, and the sting of it, is most always inconvenient and ushers in a plethora of rapid decisions.

On one level.......there was the ministry side of things.  Peggy had specifically come to Oklahoma in 1994 from Wisconsin at the request of her region coordinator.  She was told that her loving support and abilities were needed in Stillwater to help the Martindales.  That was Peggy......the heart of serving others.

But on another level.......there was her family, her brother.  Peggy's parents were both deceased, but there was a brother in Florida.  Problem was:  according to twi, this brother was blacklisted with that dastardly label.......mark and avoid.  So, since Peggy had been the twig coordinator for Rod and Jo, it didn't take but a few hours for this news to reach Craig Martindale.  And then, subsequently.....the brother in Florida phones Bob Moynihan about this funeral.  Whereupon Bob, the Florida Limb guy calls me and informs me that this brother SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED to attend his sister's funeral.

    Well, I disagreed.             Here

And, now.............some 20 years later, I'm sure damn glad he did.  I would NOT want it laid "at my doorstep" that I would not permit a bereaved brother to attend his sister's funeral.  In my mind, it gave him great comfort and healing to be there for her, his sister.  RIP, Peggy.

And, Bob..............now, some 20 years later, YOU are mark and avoid.

    • Thankful, that I didn't heed your "counsel" back then.
    • What's up with that pathetic command, Bob?
    • You guys and your "lockstep loyalty" to serve wierwille/twi?
    • You might want to RE-think that and lots of other things.

And there are those who still think these folks are going to change. Thanks for this post skyrider.
