  5. Some distinctive song openings, that I have recognized all my life are the theme songs from Mission Impossible and Hawaii Five-0 But to blast my stereo: Anything from Moody Blues (nods to Steve), Creed, U2, Billy Joel, Bon Jovi (don't laugh) and love the new version of American Woman and of course...!! 6. When I was a kid, it was House on Haunted Hill or Haunted House on the Hill..something like that. I think Vincent Price was in it. Then Last House on the left sent me crying to the ladies room when the one girl got murdered in the woods (horrible). I didn't see the movie the Exorcist but read the book and it scared me for the next ten years...LOL
  7. Hi again, Rottie (did you hear about the Rotweiler that was saved from the ice in NJ? I instantly thought of you when I was watching the news)If you go to his front page http://www.empirenet.com/~messiah7/cultsthe.htm and scroll down to I think it is the second to last link...you'll see the icon to click on for his church. Please don't think I am trying to make you agree with him or anything, I am just trying to help you get the information about this source of information for you. :-) I believe he also took the PFAL class.
  8. Thank you, Dot!! Rottie, John Juedes does/did pastor a church out in CA. I believe. There used to be a phone number when a person could call him; I know I called him once; I will have to scout around for that information for you. :-) I don't know if he has posted here at this forum, but I know he posted at Waydale occassionaly and I believe at the original greasespot as well.
  9. To VP be the glory great things he hath done So loved he himself the lies he did spun For purer and higher and greater will be That wonder our transport when we got the puck out. It's interesting that people credit VP and TWI..those who believe in God so they say...with all the good in their lives rather than God Almighty.....
  10. Bambi and Lion King made my oldest daughter cry like a well, little girl. Brought tears to my eyes also. Shindler's List. My husband had to leave the room. I kept watching looking for the little girl in the red coat as I was warned by a friend that she would 'show' again. Definitely a heavy and sad movie.
  11. Steel Magnolias as Hope mentioned. My daughter also has type one diabetes so it hits home dearly.
  12. Detour, would you email me please? :-) Mandii_Mandii@hotmail.com
  13. Well, after the love of my life cat, Micky, had to be put down in June of 2000, I finally broke down this year and took a cat in from my daughter's friend. She is jet black with green eyes. But how do I like my cat? I tell you how I don't like her...on my head when I am sleeping...or on my keyboard...or sitting on my mouse trying to get the wire...or laying on the stairs reaching up with her clawed foot trying to bat my foot as I try to step over her to come down stairs or when she attaches herself to my bathrobe belt that was dragging and I walk and she slides all the way behind me coming down the stairs at 4:45 am and through the hallway and into the kitchen... But I do like it when she plays "I Spy" with me while I am taking a bubble bath...she appears at the foot of the tub and raises herself to where her eyes peer over the edge of the tub then goes back down and does it again and again and then finally trieds to bat the fluffy mountains of bubbles in the tub or when she also sits in my lap when I am on the computer and purrs or when I come home from work and she goes upstairs with me and while I sit on my bed and change my clothes and she rubs against me to say hi... or when I had pnuemonia not too long ago and was good for nothing except to lay on the couch..remember cats are supposed to be graceful..well my couch is in front of the window so while I was lying on the couch, she was on the top of it so she could see out the window when all of a sudden I heard a bang. She must have fallen asleep and fell off into the window. She was ok..just cat pride hurt and then came and layed on my stomach to sleep..yeah..couldn't trust that window again...

  17. The doctrine for Athletes of the Spirit, as *I* remember it came out in 1980. I was living in a branch way home and was about to go WOW (first year out...big outreach cities to go to, very exciting time..knew Oak then) and I believe it was a Sunday Night tape. I believe..although can't swear on a stack of bibles that VP spoke with his seal of approval. But what I remember is that it was said that the warfare analogies were wrong and were really athletic terms instead. It seems from the way I remember it, Rev Cummins went to Europe somewhere and studied microfiche films of old manuscripts of the Bible and that is where he realized the error. I don't know how the armour of God was explained..I forget..but heck..been a couple of years. Still working on the passage of Paul...take out VP's subjective interpretation (and it was subjective as no research, as far as I can remember was offered) of being bound with the spirit and the chapters/context seems to contradict itself. Oh for the record..in case in comes up...that WOW year, 1980-1981, spring of that 1981 while still on the WOW field...another Sunday Night Tape where LCM did the believing images of Victory thing..first time I had heard it. I don't have documentation..just remember the first time I heard these doctrines introduced, but if there was someone with a still existent and extensive tape library...
  18. Cindy...best wishes, I am so happy for you Steve..congratulations!! May you both enjoy all the goodness that love has to offer.
  19. Is it recorded that when everyone said what would happen to Paul if he went that God said NOT to go to Jerusalem OR is it just assumed in the class that that was what God wanted since bad things aren't supposed to happen to God's people who are "in fellowship?" Could it just have been a recorded incident of people who loved Paul and wanted to protect him from harm simply because they loved Him? VP says in the class that the believers there were telling Paul..."Do the will of the Lord, Paul....Paul, do the will of the Lord..." VP assuming it was God's will for Paul not to go..but does it say that Paul was NOT to go or is Paul just getting a heads up on what would happen ? Even if one wants to imply it was God's intention for Paul not to go based on TWI doctrine of bad things don't happen to those in fellowship...it still violates principals of what we were taught in 'interpreting the word", doesn't it..reading into something...letting a difficult verse be twisted to fit into a preset belief? Not reading what is written as it does NOT say not to go... just my thoughts....
  20. Yes I remember VP teaching that Nathan was afraid to confront David. I remember VP saying that if Nathan went to David with any other story rather than the story God told Nathan to say concering the two men and the lamb story..David would have his head as "David would just love to have the prophet's head," (VP using the chopping motion at his neck. What NEVER made sense to me is if David WAS a man after God's own heart..why would he have killed the MOG??? Or wanted to. Also, the way *I* heard it..Jesus Christ came so we all could have Holy Spirit IN us as opposed to on us as the OT believers. Yet, John the Baptist had Holy Spirit before He was ever born. Why? Why could this be? If God could make an exception for one, not for all? This was a question I asked back then at my very first PFAL class. No one could answer. How about Paul's thorn in in the flesh? Was it really people..?
  21. Thank You, Addie, Oaks and Exie...for your warm wishes....it is greatly appreciated. Oaks..anytime..sure was great to see you again and you're a perfect house guest :-)
