"Merry Christmas, buddy." "You elected me on a single platform. I will defend this country at all costs." "I don't want to make things awkward for you, but I do have to show you... Boom!" " A Hispanic Scott Baio? I'm sorry. Is that me?" "You walked right into this one: I've dated hotter chicks than you." "Is that all you've got? A cheap trick and a cheesy one-liner?" "Sweetheart, that could be the name of my autobiography. " "Am I going to be okay?" "No. You're in a relationship with me, nothing will ever be okay. But I had this twenty years ago when I was drunk, I can sort it out. I fix stuff." "What have I got to complain about now?" "Well, it's me. You'll find something." "Are you okay?" " I broke the crayon."

Can we get another clue?

I liked "A Time to Kill", and wasn't sure about Carl Lee's last name. Got the DVD around here somewhere.
-
Yeah, changed the names, called outsiders names for being outsiders, then did the same thing with the new names. Didn't celebrate Valentines, but "Happy Hearts" was the same thing with a different name, "Ho-Ho" was celebrated the same as Christmas, and so on. I forget the other name for Halloween, but locally we never renamed it.

vpw died in 1985. I was out by 1990. If vpw was "long dead before you were in rez". then that was at least the 1990s. I don't know if lcm kept saying that through the 1990s, but he said it in the 1980s.
-
lcm said this a number of times, including several on different tapes. One local person started responding to "Merry Christmas" with "Happy Kill-Christ Day to you too." purely on lcm's say-so that the "mass" was for the "massacre" and not an actual "mass" (church service.)

I think a lot of people either have never heard of Sociology, or don't think it's useful. The sometimes-forgotten brother of Psychology, Sociology studies groups where Psychology studies individuals. (I've done some work with both at the university level.) Sociology can break down how groups tick and what draws people to them, or what keeps people in them. Since twi was largely about group dynamics and groupthink, studying it with the lens of Sociology could be quite useful. I don't think vpw knew the names of any principles he used in manipulating and conning people, but I think he used many of them, almost ignorant of their details, but knowing enough to put them into practice. So, this book is probably a good idea for a read.

With SW:TPM, Batman Begins, and Taken in that list, it must be LIAM NEESON.

Was this SAMUEL L. JACKSON?

I'd ask for more specifics, but any of the 3 Hobbit movies would be acceptable as a correct answer. Martin Freeman played young Bilbo Baggins, Sylvester Mc Coy played Radagast the Brown (a wizard like Gandalf the Grey and Saruman the White), and Richard Armitage played Thorin (Thorin Oakenshield), all of whom appeared in the Hobbit movies. (Yes, that's the same Sylvester Mc Coy that was a Dr Who- the one who used the question marks in an attempt to make a marketable symbol for The Doctor.) So, George was CORRECT. He figured out that Lord of the Rings characters were in these movies, and they weren't titled "Lord of the Rings", which left the Hobbit movies, which were set in the same continuity.
-
Yes, that's DEFINITELY a movie 4 of the 6 were NOT in.

Uh, reread my responses more carefully, and you should have it figured out. My exact phrasings were oddly specific. BTW, there were 3 movies with "Lord of the Rings" in the title.
-
Um, the first 3 actors I mentioned were never in a movie called "Lord of the Rings." Richard Armitage neither.
-
Daredevil Jennifer Garner 13 Going on 30
-
Andy Serkis Elijah Wood Richard Armitage
-
Benedict Cumberbatch got some fame as Sherlock in "SHERLOCK." Martin Freeman played his Watson. Oddly, they were also in at least 1 movie together. The photo would not help you with BC because you didn't see him in these movies.

THIS was "Dr Strange". wasn't it?

Was anyone else sure that the Paragon of Truth was going to be Jonathan? We were going into the future, and LL and Clark were both headed there. I thought that was a blinking neon sign. Planning to use an LP was something I didn't see coming. Doing that with input from Nyssa and especially JC made a LOT of sense. Mrs Wolf said she'd only trust Malcolm's input on this, but JC's input was unavoidable. I just expected bringing in another Ollie, since we had at least 1 spare. Or using the book. We both appreciated the "Leonard" appearance. BL reciting his motto was a special moment. Ways for Barry to survive? We had at least 3 lined up- they used the least-interesting option, IMHO. (I suggested a time-double like Thawne used to do, Mrs Wolf suggested barry merge into the Speed Force, then just emerge later.) I also pointed out that- with 2 more vials of Velocity 10 in Cisco's safe- it's possible that wasn't even a speedster who was in the red suit at that moment. I totally did NOT predict Jim C's appearance, but his role in the comic was vital, of course. Those people who complained that Hal Jordan became The Spectre in comics are no doubt complaining all over again. The cannon in "Flash" was a surprising carryover from the comic series. I'm surprised the Psycho-Pirate wasn't invited to this party. We'll have to wait and see about what happens to close out the story, of course. I don't think they can truly do justice to the comic, but I'm a LOT more impressed so far than I was at "Invasion!" Here's hoping they can finish strong.

It reminded me of Gog in "the Kingdom", who kept traveling through time, and killing Superman a day earlier, progressively, and really tearing up the timestream. TW had that hatchet, and was in shape. I expected Lex to get his clock cleaned. I managed to keep my mouth shut. Mrs Wolf saw Ray Palmer appear, and concluded that it would be impossible to see BR as Superman. (Instead, it meant the actor was on board...) I'm chagrined that they tried so hard to include all media versions of DC, and yet there's no Green Fury nor Olympian from "Powerless." (Not even a throwaway line.) From the time we saw Nash at that door, we tried to interpret the 7 symbols. We concluded they were the 7 Paragons, and tried to match who looked like what. The extreme right one was so obviously an arrowhead. She correctly correlated Nash opening the door with freeing the AM. (The previous destruction of Earth-2 threw me off the trail.) We made some guesses as to who would be what. Mrs Wolf actually predicted Barry would be the Paragon of Love with no help from me- but I agreed with her as soon as she said it. She also placed the AM's lair in the correct location, but wasn't sure which Earth it was on. Jonathan's pod was a call-back to both Kal's pod once, and Alexander Luthor's pod in CoIE #1. I was sure we'd lose Supes and Lois immediately, and was pleased to be proven wrong (But I loved the callback to CoIE 12 and Lois.)

Tom Welling. We got a bit of "Superman II", a bit of "Smallville" there. Kevin Conroy- yes, nice to see him. We got some "Kingdom Come" there, and some "Armageddon 2001" with Batman actually wielding K. With "Bat of the Future", I immediately expected that to be Kingdom Come/ the Kingdom's "Ibn al Xuffasch", or Brotherhood of the Bat's "Tallant". or Damian W, to be the guy. By the end of the scene, I completely expected Fox to be "Batwing."

Earth-66. *snicker* Nice touch.

Ok, saw all 3 parts, plus the end of Black Lightning. We haven't done a full, proper post-mortem on it. Yes, I LOVED the Burt Ward (with Ace, the Bat-Hound????) cameo, and the Robert Wuhl was just perfect- if anything, I liked it BETTER.
