  1. LOL - Kavlar They need to be racing to the class!!! Where is the PFAL bus?
  2. I heard about Mrs. Wierwille's death, and I have never been a member of the WAY. As for the hurricane in New Orleans - this was my thought as I watched the news unfold....(I have never been a WAY member, learned from an offshoot that I am now no longer with). New Orleans houses the Mardi Gras, one of the most hedionistic festivals in the US (I say ONE of) - There is alot of ancestary slavery there, in which they believe in witchcraft (I've been, voodoo dolls are sold and sorcery stores are ample). We all know what was taught but what made me THINK was - all of this adversary worship is going on in their city (when I was in my fellowship it was spoken of the masks and witchcraft...etc....especially drunken fest Mardi Gras). Satan had no care. ....even where he is worshipped heavily. I just am empowered how loving our God is and how this is obvious Satan is cruel. (i can't write what I really want to say here...I know God is love....but I just had "where the two rivers run together.") (i'm sure you know what I'm talking about - the greek work - sunesis).
  3. I was only affilitated with an off branch from the Way - however, my uncle use to say this phrase all the time. (He didn't even know the WAY). I believe it's just an old Southern term..... I've heard other older people say it. Kinda like "don't throw the baby out with the bathwater" or "night night sleep tight."
  4. * You need the class..... * Come fellowship (not hang out) (ahhh...you're out of fellowship....) * Stop being so stubborn and 'RENEW your MIND' * You're just not believing enough * Even if I completely think you are a moron, always remember your sonship rights -- cause God loves you. And, it's okay if I think you're a moron, because I have a right to be BOLD when I don't agree.
  5. Dove, How do I contact the Way bookstore? I thought they didn't sell things to "outsiders?"
  6. I would be happy to pay for shipping.Thank you very much. I had seen the book a couple of years ago and I'm always looking for children's activities. I liked some of the ones that were in there. As with all churches, I'm learning to sift through the good and bad. I'm still healing from my time, but I did like some of the activities in the book. Do you have any recommendations? I would love to look into them. Thanks.
  7. Anyone know where I can get a copy of or the book titled, "Teaching God's Word to Children." I have missed the auction the few times it was on Ebay.
  8. I've been in fellowships where the whole teaching will STOP and the leader will scream at someone for shaking their leg or fidgeting. It only made everyone else feel MORE uncomfortable and then if the person was standoffish afterwards the leader would say, "You're slow to renew your mind aren't you?"
  9. Rascal -- You hit it head on. That's what I am referring to. A leader's opinion of how they think you should be behaving and totally embarassing you and making comments. One thing I alwasy found was "you can eat whatever you want" but we're going to talk and make comments about it if it's not what we "approve" BUT - go ahead.....
  10. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. It's like -- however I'm feeling today that's what will be -- and a leader can't be that way and be a good leader. It's almost reminds me of a "spoiled brat"
  11. I agree everyone needs some reproving (we're not all right all the time) : ) There was only one perfect man. However, my qualm is, how do you know the person reproving you doesn't need some reproof of their own? It seems to me, people take this to a heiarchy of "I am better than thou." And, that's where I get annoyed. Also, the classic line of "we're all family" so let's just blast everyone's secrets and play "guess whose sin this is." This is where I am hurting through all the BIBLE stuff I was taught.
  12. Is it true the Way Intl. had it's own police squad....HAHA http://www.empirenet.com/~messiah7/quz_ipolicar.htm It just gets better and better.

  14. Is this being done by a lady in California?
  15. Hi -- I appreciate everyone's insight. It's kind of nice to know that others were nervous also -- I always felt wrong for feeling that way. I never made things up, it always seemed to flow no matter how nervous I was. Some of you mentioned ending with "in the name of Jesus Christ." I've never heard that in manifestations, however, I have done it in 3rd person, i.e. Your God is strong and capable.....etc.... My leader was always blwon away when I did that. Only happened 3 times I believe in 7 years. Anyone ever do that?
  16. I was wondering if anyone else ever felt "shy" when being asked to speak in tongues and interpret at a believer's meeting? I use to avoid believer's meeting at one point because I was so unsure about it -- however, the more I did it, others would always say I blessed them with the interpretation and it was my "long suit" among manifestations. (I don't think so because I was always so nervous) I'm blessed I finally am now able to do it without so much tension and nervousness -- and am blessed when I do it -- however, I feel it contributed to others not participating (like me) because it was assumed you did so upon graduation of PFAL. (for instance my mother gave that excuse of not coming to fellowship because of the pressure) I've always been shy and hated being called on. Is this a perfect example of facing the things we fear and excelling at them?? (we all know what FEAR can do from the PFAL class) Anyone have any thoughts from their experience with SIT and interpretation???
  17. Thanks Ted -- Great CD!! We really appreciate it.
  18. I took the class in a spin-off Wierwille back in the 90's. There was no syllabus and it was just about dating & there was some marriage/sex talk. Basically what I remember is: *A woman should always look feminine no matter what -- if you are digging ditches wear diamonds. *Give your husband what he wants when he wants it. (I do have to admit I have heard Dr.Laura say,"Keep a man's belly full & happy in the bedroom and he will never stray.") *It's okay to sit next to a believer and hold hands or hug -- it doesn't mean anything it's sibling love. (I found this kind of weird -- I'm all for the natural hello/goodbye hug -- but....) *Date alot, there is no such thing as going "steady" with someone in the word, until you are engaged to be married. *Kids don't rule -- parents do -- and a couple should be married awhile before having kids as it wasn't God's original plan to have kids. *Some stuff on the virtuous woman. (be crafty, thrifty (so your husband can take all the $), multi-task, the husband leads the house -- don't question it just SIT for him much. That's all I can remember thus far. There was some sex talk -- but not anything as graffic as I'm reading on these posts -- it was just general things. *Oh and never masturbate without your spouse -- that is a HUGE NO NO.
  19. 'That's the way the Eagle flies' -- I LOVE THAT SONG!! :)-->
  20. We don't get alot around where I live now. But where I use to live the Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses would come all the time. I was just learning the word at that time and would just ask them questions about their faith/believing and they were happy to tell. Then I would ask JW -- so isn't that kind of scary that only 140,000 are going to heaven? I mean, isn't that kind of mean of God? or the Mormons I asked why they weren't allowed to drive cars and were called Elders -- when technically that's not what the words meant. I was never rude and had open discussion with them and took their material. I'd read it over briefly, just so I could have more "questions" to ask the next ones.
  21. Oh totally!!! It was more ethical to just coast by and believe God than to work and actually supply. I believe God helps....but you don't go around high and mightly acting like a yo-yo about it.
  22. I don't know the facts enough -- but it doesn't seem to make sense. If all sins are equal -- how is homosexuality the lowest sin a person can go? I've never understood that.As for Eve being a lesbian -- sounds like a played out fantasy in martindale's eyes. (Why do you guys call him Loy?)
  23. Oakspear: Thank you for the explanation -- I am interested in learning more. Every believer I ever asked to show me where it says in the bible that homosexuality is the lowest form of humans -- pointed me to Romans 1 and just said...."because God says." -- I'm not a homosexual, nor sticking up for it -- but can someone please tell me what I'm missing here?
  24. Yeah, it was funny watching him sit there with a leopard printed blanked on a lawn chair -- while everyone else had to sit on the "dirt" and him asking about everything "he" taught us while he picked his teeth.
  25. I meant "I" as the leader was too busy selling things and not paying his mortgage -- whereas I had a job and a decent car I was I was happy with -- Hypocrites. Again -- judgements -- live by what the leader thinks is appropriate
