  1. The wife of a LC. She was so arrogant and had anger management issues. She lorded over other people-but looking back, I can't believe we all ran to her beck and call-doing her housekeeping for her and babysitting. People would go to her for help and advice and should would either rip them to shreds or use what they said against them. She was uneducated, and the only work experience she ever had before going corpse was waitressing. Nothing against waitressing-I've worked in service orientated jobs for years, but by her own admission she once got someone everyone liked fired. She came across like she was proud of herself for that and gloried in telling the tale. One day she was left in charge of clean up at the place she waitressed. This guy had to be somewhere and she refused to let him leave, insisting he be more "detailed minded." He finally had enough and called her a bad name. She reported him to their boss, who let him go because she made a threat about how she would handle it and he didn't want trouble. She said all the other employees hated her after that and she said the advesary really used the situation to stop the word from moving. Sure, the guy shouldn't have called her that name, but after experiencing first hand how she treated people- I can see why he did. And the other employees probably hated her long before the name calling incident. It was weird how proud she seemed of herself for causing a man to lose his job. But how she treated the believers was a thousand times worse. I think the only reason she and her husband had leadership positions is because they were the "pets" of two other couples, both corpsecords at different times. :B) They were both uneducated, self serving and did not have much to offer. She's probably the most abusive person I've ever known. But I think God has protected me, because I haven't seen her in years-which is a true blessing. :)
  2. There is a really funny episode of "Daria" where two of the teen characters have that same point of view so they go in search of country folk to see what deep truths they could learn about life. The couple they hooked up with was crazy-and destroyed that myth. Very funny. I'm of the belief that everyone is needed and what they do contributes to the whole. Everyone can't be the same, or nothing would get done. There can be ego and discrimination from every end, some with the "wholesome" label.
  3. I think Farmers are cool and I respect their hard work. Farmers have always been a vital part of life. I've even mused about what kind of a life that would be and if I would be up for the task. (I wouldn't-I'd end up wanting to keep all the animals as pets!) Maybe what his Dad said and the culture he grew up in really affected him. Maybe he felt guilty for not being up for the task- so he took it out on others and it's why he made so many ambivilent statements about Farmers. I don't know, just a thought-because he really did bring up farmers a lot!.
  4. I just remembered something else. He enjoyed all the praise he could get. But I don't ever remember him really helping with anything-just "over-seeing" our work.
  5. Oh Wow. That is just terrible. Could you bring charges against this leader for harrassment-Surely telling people to scream rapist when they see you has to be illegal? I hope your brother in law has remorse for what he did. What shocking behavior.
  6. He may have got that idea at Gunny when we got in the river and moved rocks.
  7. Typical, Eh? You may not have even remembered he made a mistake if he had just manned up and told you the truth. Funny-because he was so fearful of being thought wrong, he made it so there was no way to forget it. I wonder if the kids of leaders like this get really screwed up. Does it destroy their ability to recognize a lie? Does it teach them to not be accountable for their behavior? Does it teach them to blame other people while "sainting" themselves at the same time? How confusing it must be for a kid being raised with that kind of parent, not to mention the dangerous outcome it may produce.
  8. I was supposed to be helping to assemble folders for WIB. But the material we had all indicated it was for welcome to HQ and rules for staying at FH. One woman pointed this out to the "leader". He said we should assemble them anyway. She asked why, and he bristled, saying "The wife of a BOT sent us these materials so that's what we will use." She said "But she told us it was for WIB-it doesn't make sense to put a welcome to HQ letter and FH rules in the packets." He then replied with "Wherever the BOT are that's where the heart of HQ is so that's why it makes sense." She said "Really? People staying at a hotel in a completely different state need rules on staying at FH?" She got up and started going towards the dept. in question to get it straightened out. He followed her into the hallway and he was livid. How dare she try to question the wife of a BOT. He went on and on like this. Then for his big finale, he told her to get back in the room and assemble the packets as is-because "rebellion is as the sin as witch craft." He seriously said this. She came back into the room very befuddled. We spent the entire evening putting those packets together. Nobody spoke. It was wierd. The next night we were assigned to take apart all the packets and reassemble them because we had used the wrong materials. That was a long night and of course, no apologies were made, no acknowledgement of error or arrogance on the leaders part. Just a hard attitude towards the woman who disagreed with him and had the nerve to try to ask the wife of a BOT a simple question that would have saved hours of time.
  9. Well, this may not fit with this thread-but the WwwwWWWWS that witnessed to me had me comvinced not to buy a certain brand because a symbol on their products represented devil worship. There I was for a couple years scanning packages before I bought them to make sure that symbol wasn't there. How silly-I never found out for myself if it was true.
  10. Thanks for the coffee and cake! Delicious! I'll take a look at the My story section. Thanks!
  11. No-not a free radical...But life is radical being free! (Aaaargh-bad 80's joke LOL)

  12. I remember a prayer list that was sooooo long. I don't remember how we got it, but everyone had one. It listed root locations, campus coords., leadership and wives names-then at the bottom of the list said "yourself." I never had enough time to get to me. I'm not a morning person.
  13. Freedom is awesome!!!!!!!!
