Last try for Joann Herman. Lost contact with her in mid-88. We were close all through the Corps and on Staff at HQ. Even named my daughter's middle name after her when my daughter was born in 85. Last I knew she was working for a make-up company in Connecticut but have searched for years and never re-located her. Anyone know anything?? Thanks

Don't worry about it. I did a similar thing. I left about 15 years ago and when I'd run into anyone from the Way I'd approach them. If they got real uncomfortable, I continued to walk their way and talk to them. Some responded to me, some didn't. Figured it was THEIR loss if they didn't. I would still do that today if I ran into someone.

Oops....forgot to add that he's not involved with The Way.

He called me not too long ago and told me that he was moving back to Augusta. He's supposed to give me a call after moved and settled. He keeps in off and on touch with my husband.

I believe it was Nancy Schaffer that wrote the book "VP and ME."

I have a cockatial that landed on my roof about 8 months ago. My son spotted it and called to it and it flew down, came inside and has been here ever since. It's a male and whistles (we whistle back and forth to each other), have taught it to kiss and it will perch on your finger, shoulder, head, knee...wherever you place it. Was our FIRST bird also and had no clue what to do with it so went to the pet store to ask. Had to shut it in the bathroom while I went to the store to buy a cage, etc. so the "poop" was contained while I was gone :)-->. Has turned out to be a great bird pet. My cat sleeps on top of the cage at night (no...cat doesn't try to get bird). The bird actually whistles to the cat. The cat ignores the bird, doesn't try to eat the fish, the dogs ignore the cat and they all cuddle together actually.

Nancy is still in...and yes it's spelled Hearne. She was practically raised at HQ and that's all she's pretty much ever know. She'll always be there till the bitter end. She went on the field once...and was brought back to HQ in the middle of it because she was a duck out of water...never having been away from a HQ place. She's a wonderful person with a tender heart...but she'll be there forever.

Where in Georgia was she supposed to be heading to? If it's Atlanta, she was probably assigned there.

Thanks for the e-mail "notinkansasanymore." I made note of it to pass on to him when I talk to him tomorrow. Just talked to him this morning before I got on line. "One of these days" he wants to get a laptop ... but have to catch up on bills first. He's just been driving about 6 weeks after being out of work since last November. Carpentry work sucks down here. But he's a much happier camper driving - was getting too old for the strain carpentry was putting on him. And "excathedra" - no he has nothing painted on his truck. He drives for a company - he doesn't own the truck. And a Twig Hopper - I don't think so. Anytime he rode a motercycle he looked like a frog $%^&*$% a football and had to change foot gears by hand...lol.

Actually he's driving an 18-wheeler with no dog (it's at home - 150 pounder--he always thought LARGE and bought in bulk quantities...lol.) He's been in Arizona 3 times now. He just recently quit the carpentry trade and decided to drive so that he doesn't have to live in a Winnebago and...so far...he's driving on the right side of the road. Found the list...thanks. Geeze though...my name isn't on ANY of them. How could they forget me!!!! Arggg...does that mean they think I'm still involved or that their record keeping sucks. I'll chose the latter. Did find DeeAnn's married name though. Couldn't remember it for the life of me. "Price." Unless she's remarried since. Think I should call them and tell them they omitted my name? (LMAO). I left in 88.

I have no clue what happened to them - where was the list you were reading located? I'm still learning my way around the cafe.
